Cabin

Perfect For ATV, Hiking, Yellowstone Park, Snowmobiling, and Anything Outdoors

Island Park, Idaho, United States

D&D Lodge is truly the cabin to rent. With recreation trails for all levels from beginner to advanced. No need to trailer your toys to another parking lot jump on ATV or snowmobile and ride from the front door. Also being close to the reservoir it makes it easy to get the boat or the jet ski's in the water for a day of fun on the lake. Our cabin has WiFi, Dish network, a smart TV so guests can use their own favorite streaming networks, a Sundance Hot Tub, and a Gas Fireplace (no need to work and stock your own fire for the night) The kitchen is very large with plenty of room to cook for an army. The kitchen is open to the dining room and living room that makes everything that much more spacious and allows the feeling of being together while you spend precious time with those who are there. Feel free to relax on 1 of the 4 large decks with rocking chairs and benches already available to you. Fire up the BBQ grill for some yummy steaks, or maybe that fresh catch you pulled in off the rivers. Upstairs has a large open loft area before going into hallway for the bedrooms. Off the loft is a balcony with a great view of all the action up front. This area is also where there are pull out couches and futons for one massive sleepover. It's often a place where the kids like to sleep so they can stay up laughing and having fun while the adults are nestled in their beds in one of the three bedrooms. The hot tub is located in the back yard along with the firepit for more gathering time together. There is an outside camera placed in the back yard and one placed in the front yard. These are used for security purposes, but also they are crucial in monitoring the wildlife in the area to ensure our property is free of any damage or needing repairs from such wildlife. In the winter months, these cameras are also crucial in monitoring the snow levels. As we view the snow, we can monitor when we need to call our snow plowing services. Because this property is a mountain retreat, there has never been A/C in the home. It is only ever warm enough during 3-4 weeks out of the year. We have provided fans in the upper bedrooms in the event that it gets a little too warm. Typically, during those especially warm times of the year, we recommend that you open the windows during the evening as it cools off every night there, and then close up the windows and blinds during the day, especially if you are leaving the cabin to go exploring. Because of the nature of the wooden logs, it keeps things pretty cool and manageable. Thank you for taking the time to look at our posting.

Wildlife is plentiful along the river, and in nearby water fowl preserves, which is a rare opportunity to enjoy viewing wildlife right at the cabin and it's pristine, quiet setting surrounded by Forest Service land, when the crowds at Yellowstone National Park during peak summer months for visitors make wildlife viewing more difficult. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, small, simple cabin built in 1978. Just 1400 square feet, on 4.6 private wooded acres of lodgepole pine, and wild flowers. Amazing river views from the wall of windows facing east to the river, and from the main level and east bedroom decks. free Wifi. The river bank is about 200 feet away from the cabin. New Yakisugi method deck overlooking the river built in 2025, brYakisugi method of preserving wood. contractor trained in Japan. Yakisugi is a traditional Japanese method of preserving wood by charring its surface with fire. This sustainable technique creates a carbonized layer that makes wood naturally resistant to fire, rot, insects, and UV damage while providing a deep, textured aesthetic. after treating the surface of the wood, loose char is carefully brushed off and wood is washed and sealed. Long process but best for the environment in forested areas. brbrNew floors, new carpet, new natural stone fireplace surround. New drywall in main living area. We enjoy hosting guests who respect the simple peace and quiet of the setting at Henry's Fork as much as we do. Please make sure doors are not left open, store food carefully and clean up spills immediately. If you have disabled or wheel chair dependent in your group, or if you struggle at all with stairs, please be aware that there are interior stairs built in the 70s, (old OSHA standards for rise and run) There are two bedrooms on the main level. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!brbrbrbrInteraction with Guests:brbrIf guests have any questions or concerns during their stay, Please call or text, we do not monitor Airbnb messages late in the evening or early morning. (We do not provide the crate.) brTo keep the cabin beautiful, you are responsible to pay for any damage caused by your dog. Because the extra cleaning will interfere with the cabin being ready for guests later that day, if there is damage or dog hair on the beds or furniture, then the extra cost is a minimum of $100.brbrYou'll have access to the entire cabin including the hot tub, grill, fire pit, washer/dryer, and all the parking space outside! There 700+ miles of trails that one can ride motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles etc on. We have ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles available for rent if you're looking for a different way to explore the area other than in a car.brbrFrom mid-December to March you can depend on snow in Island Park. The roads are plowed well, but it would be a good idea to bring a vehicle that works well in the snow. A truck with clearance, 4WD or AWD is best.brbrTake an adventure on the hundreds of miles of trails for snowmobiles, UTVs, and ATVs right out the back door. We also rent out snowmobiles, UTVs, and ATVs as well and can arrange a rentals for you!brbrWe ask that you do a couple simple things when checking out like take your trash to dumpster outside, load and start dishwasher, wash towels and leave them drying, pull sheets off of beds that are slept in and leave them on beds.
