This quaint, rustic hand crafted log cabin on the Salmon River has views of the river and rugged canyon peaks that you will never forget . We are 5 miles upriver from the town of Riggins. The 24 hour sound system is provided by the big river whitewater and Cat Creek tumbling down beside the cabin. Only our guests and the owners and their families have vehicle access to a beautiful calm water swimming beach at the lower end of the property. The occasional rafter or boater have access to the mean high water line. Tie up your jet boat, drift boat or raft on the beach. You can also launch a raft or drift boat from the beach and for larger boats there are launches a mile or two down river with easy water all the way.brbrThe cozy rustic Cat Creek cabin has 2 bedrooms upstairs with a Queen and single bed in the main room, the second room has a Double and single bed. The stairs are narrow and steep and not suitable for some people. The bathroom is located on the main floor, it has a shower tub and stackable washer/Dryer. The kitchen has everything you will need to prepare home cooked meals, you just need to bring the groceries. The open floor plan has a dinning area and a modest living area . No matter where you choose to sit you have a view of the majestic Salmon River canyon. The spacious deck has a propane grill , picnic table along with chairs to sit out and enjoy watching the river flow by and Bald Eagles soar. It is air conditioned for the summer months and a glass front wood stove along with electric heat for the cool months, wood can be purchased in Riggins. The cabin has a StarLink satellite system , the cabin may be isolated, but one should be able to connect to most anything, and a new smart tv is located in the living room, and WiFi calling should allow calls and texts to be made.brbrWe are in the heart of the largest concentration of National Forest public lands in the U.S. and a few miles up the road is the Frank Church Wilderness, the wildest piece of unroaded real estate in the continental U.S. . Our neighborhood is host to deer, elk, big horn sheep, mountain lion, mountain goat, grey wolf, black bear, golden eagle, osprey, bald eagle, salmon, steelhead, cutthroat trout, rainbow trout to name a few.brbrThe Salmon River is the longest undamed river in the lower 48 and is appropriately named. The pole snapping Chinook salmon show up in May-June and the fall steelhead run starts in September and goes until spring. You can hire professional drift and jet boat guides in Riggins or try your luck in the Cat Creek Hole out your front door. brbrOur back yard abuts public lands and for the the hunter it is not likely you will see anyone else, it is steep and rugged, not recommended for those looking for a stroll in the woods.brbrThe Salmon River is world class whitewater. You can take one of the most exciting 1/2 day whitewater raft trips in the west from Riggins or for an extended adventure, a 5 day trip thru the magnificent River of No Return Wilderness in relative comfort with one of the many professional outfitters.brbrAnd don’t forget your surfboard. Just up from our beach is the locally known Freedom Surf Wave. Its an easy paddle across the river and a short walk to the wave. If you plan on using the beach during the summer we recommend a shade device that withstand wind gusts, for those not equipped with a shade device one can be available for a modest fee upon request.brbr Riggins is located in the heart of Idaho, centrally located between Boise to the south. Spokane WA to the northwest and Missoula MT to the east. All 3 locations offer direct flight to and from several larger cities. All 3 offer unique sightseeing on the drive to Riggins.brbrThe rustic cabin is located up a short gravel road above the river. The road is a bit steep for some with a couple of switchbacks., Water-bars are located in several spots to take the rain water off the road to prevent erosion and rutting. Behind the cabin is a moderately large turn around, plenty of room for cars and SUV to maneuver, Guest with pulling trailers should check it out prior to going to back of cabin. There is a good size backup located below the cabin that has been used for trailer parking and makes for easy turn around. 4 wheel drive is not needed to drive up the road, if renting a vehicle and not used to mountainous road one might consider all wheel drive cars as an option.

This exceptional property is on a near one acre lot right on Main Street/hwy 95 close to the center of town, within walking distance to everything including stores, restaurants, bars and outfitters. The white picket fence and two large elm trees out front gives this abode a welcome charm. brbrThis is my home where I have lived for 30 years and contains some of my personal items. It is a fully remodeled sizable 3 level home with a luxurious attic master suite including a queen size bed, plenty of storage and a deluxe master bathroom with a 2 person soaker tub and a 2 person shower.brbrOn the ground floor, there are 2 spacious bedrooms with queen size beds and a bathroom with a shower. Also on the ground floor is a large, open fully loaded gourmet kitchen complete with 3 ovens, gas cook top, griddle, full-size refrigerator and full-size freezer, and every gadget imaginable. Incorporated into the gourmet kitchen is a dining room space that seats up to10 people and a full bar area with a large under-the-counter ice maker. Adjacent to the kitchen is an open living room with a spacious sectional couch, big screen t.v. and lots of books and games. brbrIn the basement there are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds with storage as well, and a full size bathroom with a shower. All bedrooms have Smart t.v.'s and/or Direct t.v. A loaded laundry room is right off of the dining room. Laundry soap is not provided. brbrOn the outside you can enjoy 2 covered decks and 2 fenced in yards, both in the front and the south side of the house. Sit on the front porch and watch all of the Main Street action go by, or nestle around the side and back areas of the property for private mountain view comfort. brbrParking is abundant on this spacious property; in back of the house, front of the house on Main Street and in the City parking lot across the street.brbrYou are sure to feel at ease in this picture perfect property accommodating your every need, previous home to my family of 6 and current home to me! The nightly rate of $495 is for occupancy of 10 people sleeping on beds, but you may add 2 more, sleeping on the couch or the floor, with an additional charge of $50 per person per night. There are extra pillows, blankets and a sheet for the couch, please use the sheet when sleeping on the couch, and sleeping bags available upon request. The fee for extra guests needs to be added at the time of reservation.br2. The primary guest reserving the property must be on the premises overnight and ensure that all guests read and follow The House Rules.br3. Sub-letting of this property is forbidden.br4. The garbage disposal is for very small food scraps only. It is not designed to crush up large foot items. Please do NOT put anything else down it such as coffee grounds, vegetables or fruit, whole or shavings, meat, etc. Put these items in the garbage can.br5. PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING DOWN THE TOILET EXCEPT A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TOILET PAPER. NO: feminine hygiene products, diapers, paper towels, toys, flushable wipes, or anything else. These things will clog the sewer system and in a small town, especially, an emergency plumber is hard to find.br6. Please do not launder house linens or sleep on top of the bedspreads.br7. Special Events: Birthday parties, Anniversaries, Weddings, etc. where additional guests are to be invited by the guests, must be PRE-APPROVED by the property owner. The fee is $150.00 for every additional 25 people. This will include garbage hauling by the host. Porta-potties will be required to be rented by the primary guest, so as not to have these additional guests using the facilities in the house. The cost is approximately $150.00 each per weekend and will be paid to the property owner prior to check-in. Property owner will make necessary arrangements for delivery and pick-up of them. Sufficient time for this request must be made by the guest, at least 14-30 days prior to check-in. br8. Garbage: There are plenty of receptacles in and around the property, inside and outside for your convenience. If you have more than what fills the available garbage cans, please haul it to the Idaho County dumpster up The Big Salmon River Rd, just past the rodeo grounds south of town.br9. Please keep all doors closed, unless using the screen on the slider or storm door with the screen on the back door. Hot or cold air undesirably comes in/goes out, and flies are abundant in the summertime and are not desirable to either future guests or the host. The front door is a push-pull style and must be snuggly shut in order to stay shut. br10. Please do not turn off the Wi-Fi , in an attempt to reset it. Because of how the Wi-Fi is set up, this will disconnect it. br11. Please do not reset the Direct TV. Without instructions from customer service, it will not operate. If there is a problem with operating it, please contact the host. br12. Snuggly close both the refrigerator and the freezer after use. If not, it will beep continuously to indicate that it is open and raising temperature.br13. Lanterns in all bedrooms are for emergency use only.br14. Please keep all gates closed at all times when not in use. This helps prevent damage o the gates by them swinging open and then slamming shut due to often gusty canyon winds, which happens nightly, and keeps stray animals and the local deer out of the yard. You may prop open the wooden side-yard gates with a nearby cinder block. br15. Please keep the house locked when away from the property. This is a very safe town, but it is located on Main St./Hwy 95, a major thoroughfare.br16. Please do not park IN Dixon Lane. It is a private drive. Keep it clear for drive-through traffic.br17. With the exception of one shelf, the entire refrigerator is for guest use. There is one shelf in the freezer available for guest use. Beverage refrigerator, pantry and wine cabinet are not for guest use. br18. Any area not secured with baby locks is available for guest use, spices, bathroom sundries, etc.br19. The thermostat is usually kept between 68-71', deepening on the season and the weather and can be adjusted to your liking. Please set it at 71 upon check out.brbrCHECK OUT PROCEDURES:br1. Remove all dirty/used towels only from each room and put in the laundry room. br2. Please Leave all bedding, used and unused, on all beds. br3. Please do not launder any of the house linens.br4. Rinse dishes, load the dishwasher and start it.br5. Turn off all lights and small appliances.br6. Set thermostat to 71 in the summer, 68 in the winter.br7. Remove all garbage from counters, rooms, tables, floors, outside, etc. and put in receptacles. You may empty them if you like, using the green Riggins City garbage can the north front side of the property. If it is full from previous guests, leave it on the shower pan on the deck next to the back door. br8. Make sure that all t.v. remotes are in their respective rooms and visible. br9.
