The principal species available to the backwater fly fisher are snook, redfish, tarpon, jack crevalle, seatrout, ladyfish, spanish mackerel, pompano and mangrove snapper. If you don't mind going a bit offshore and using different fishing techniques, there are also opportunities for cobia, tripletail, king mackerel, barracuda, grouper, snapper, amberjack, drum, shark, permit and many other species. Fortunately, most anglers do go offshore and so the backwaters are usually free from crowding, even during the busy winter season.brbrMarco Island Fishing: 'Baby tarpon, weighing from 2 to 20 pounds, can be found around the island throughout the year. Pound for pound, they are just as feisty as their larger cousins. Fishing is usually best in the summer. They are most often found in the major canals, deepwater bays and the remote inland creeks in the mangrove forest. I recommend the safe release of all tarpon; they have little food value and an artificial replica can be provided by most local taxidermists.'brbrFishing in the late summer and fall is best in early morning and at dusk, when water surface temperatures are at their lowest. September and October can produce some outstanding fly fishing for redfish. This is the time when the larger ones will come out of the Gulf of Mexico and invade the inshore passes and estuaries. Pets are not allowed at the House. brbr2.9. Cleaning Fee; Additional Cleanings Recommendation. Cleaning is our priority and we have provided the House with basic cleaning items and products for your use during your stay. The cleaning fee you paid during your reservation covers one (1) normal cleaning of the House upon your departure, and laundry for one full set of bedsheets, one bath towel set and one beach towel per authorized Guest. You are responsible for any additional cleaning or towel/sheet washing required upon your departure. brFor stays over 20 days, we highly recommend a cleaning service –as described above- every second week of the stay. If you agree, we will schedule the service with our cleaning person and will share the cost 50/50 with you! brbr2.10. Off-limit areas. We welcome you to use all areas of the House, except for the following that are locked. Please do not attempt to open them: closet in the laundry, one of the closets in the master bedroom, and the closet downstairs by the summer kitchen area.brbr2.11. Damage and Security Deposit. Guests are responsible for any damage to the House and House items. We understand that accidents happen. In the unfortunate event that a Guests brake or damage something at the House, we kindly ask you to report it to us before your departure. If the cost of the damage is more than the security deposit or if extra cleaning should be involved, the cost incurred will be billed to the Guest and is your responsibility to pay it. brbr2.12. Parking. Please park your vehicle or any visitor vehicle in the designated spaces only: the large garage on the left of the House, or the paved driveways outside the House (up to 4 cars). Please do not park on the street, grass or blocking any part of the side walk. brbr2.13. Pool and Deck. Boat not Included. The pool is heated to a set temperature of 89˚ F. Our pool is not fenced. Children/minors are not allowed to use the pool or be by the pool, or on the deck area without adult supervision. Please only use plastics cups and plates when dining/drinking outside. The boat is not included with the rent of the House. Please do not touch the boat lift or attempt to move the boat. brbr2.14. BBQ/Summer Kitchen. We hope you use and enjoy our BBQ. We kindly ask you to clean the BBQ/summer kitchen after each use. You can use whatever propane the prior guest has left available, but it is NOT host`s responsibility to provide it. If you run out of propane, you can buy a refill at ACE, Publix, Winn-Dixie or any local store/ gas station.brbr2.15. Appliances. In one of the kitchen drawers, you will find extra batteries for the remote controls if you need to replace the batteries. You’re welcome to use the washer and dryer, but just make sure that you don’t overload it. brbr2.16. Compliance.
