There are also nearby rental locations for additional kayaks, paddleboards, water bikes, and snorkel gear. brbrAt the end of the day enjoy a dip in the pool, BBQ, and watch the sunset from the back patio, find a favorite spot in town, or on the water. Covered screened porch for those days that may be hot or rainy-- this is Florida wait 5 minutes and the weather will change is what us natives always say!!! brbrThis is a golf cart friendly area so bring your cart or rent one for your stay. Whip up your meals and eat on the screen porch at the end of the day and relax. This waterfront stilt home, just minutes to St. Martins River and nearby scallop grounds, provides lots of mellowing opportunities. Chill on the screened deck overlooking the canal or enjoy the outdoor space under the house. There's room for up to 6 adults to spread out in the spacious living room, dining room and kitchen, the large king master suite, and the 2 private guest rooms, one king and one queen with a shared bath. The yard and hardscaping are neat and tidy with a concrete rip rap seawall, concrete walkways and a dock for your shallow-draft boat. Conveniently park up to 2 cars under the house or on the concrete driveways out front where there is an RV hookup or room for a boat trailer. Two fat tire bicycles can be used to meander the old Florida style fishing village area, or it's an easy walk to 2 excellent restaurants and a short scenic drive to another great restaurant with amazing views. There's a general store that carries necessities, fun stuff as well as fishing bait and gear. Ozello Marina as well as other providers can take you on a fishing charter or nature tour of the area. Three kayaks and 3 paddleboard/kayak hybrids are available for guest use. Watch for the abundant nature residing in the area, from birds, otters, lizards, turtles, and fish near the house, to porpoise and even manatee in the nearby waters. You can gaze at the stars while soaking in the deep water cedar hot tub. Ozello is famous for great fishing as well as a good area when scallops are in season. There is a convenient screened fish cleaning station and an outdoor shower head. There are 3 smart tv's , a dishwasher and well stocked kitchen, washer and dryer so you never have to leave the island if you so choose! But if you do choose, we are minutes to popular sites like 3 Sister's Springs, Homosassa Wildlife Park, Fort Island Beach and an awesome restaurant scene. It's a quick trip to nearby big chain groceries and Walmart for items you can't find on the island. Come mellow in the Ozello Bonefish House. brPlease note there are 14 steps required to access the house. Navigating the Ozello Keys areas by boat is best at high tides and with depth finder systems to avoid oyster beds and rocks. The canal water is tidal and can shrink to 3 feet. It is recommended to stay within channel markers. Sadly, due to furniture, floor and window damage experienced from dogs left unattended in the house, we have decided to change our rules to no pets. Please contact me if you have stayed previously with your dog without incident and we will consider an allowance. I am a dog lover too, and we want to be accommodating to responsible pet owners, but I must protect my home from the greater than minor damage experienced this last year. We have outdoor cameras for occasional security checks (not on the hot tub) and we will request a fee or make a claim on the security deposit for unpermitted dogs. If you have a certified service dog for a specific disability, emotional support animals do not qualify, let us know when booking.
