This historic iconic home is a former Bugsy Siegel hunting cabin, nestled in the trees on a 14,000 sf lot. The style is modern/rustic with lots of light & high ceilings. Everything has been upgraded in this renovated 1926 cottage. Secluded & minutes from the famous Tudor House, the gathering spot of Bugsy & his gang in the days of prohibition. Read on to learn how to take the Bugsy Challenge.brbrBugsy’s provides an experience not to forget with 2 complete living spaces each with a cozy fireplace, a large Smart TV & a kitchen (the oven is a counter top convection oven). Each one is set up as a studio with an optional door to close (& lock) for privacy if traveling as 2 couples or families. The first living space shown in the pictures has the grande deck that faces the woods with wall-to-wall glass doors that completely open up to the forest. The queen bed can covert to a sofa if more space is needed. The love seat has the option to covert to 2 twin slide out beds. The kitchen is well stocked with an induction cooktop & convection counter oven. brbrThe 2nd living space (the front side of the house) also has a fireplace, Smart TV, with a very comfy queen bed tucked away in its own nook with a privacy screen. There is another sleeping area upstairs in the loft & it is an open loft with a ladder for access. It was designed this way to keep it open & airy. The kitchen has its own refrigerator, gas cooktop, dishwasher, & convection oven. The main highlight is the change of seasons & clean crisp air. The temperature in the summer is approximately 15 degrees cooler than other areas at lower altitude. In the winter, there is snow. It is more of a small-town feel with narrow roads in the Villas where the cottage is located. brbrThe Village at Lake Arrowhead sits on the lake. There are shops & restaurants at the Village & the Arrowhead Resort & Spa is close by. They offer fresh crisp air, cooler weather (10-15 degrees) in the summer, & snow in the winter. They also offer a more relaxed & low-key energy “vibe” making them ideal locations for getaways to renew the mind, spirit, & body & to reconnect with family & friends. brbrWe answer frequent questions regarding the lakes & have put together some information below on what makes each location unique so it is easier to match with your specific goals for your time away. Upon booking one of our properties, you will receive more detailed information on how you can spend your time in the area. brbrBig Bear Lake is a public lake & friendly to all types of boats & water sports & is the largest lake of the three. There is a short paved bike & walking trail that goes along the lake. Big Bear is a City & is more populated with stores, restaurants, & nightlife than the other two locations. It has more of a “desert” feel in terms of its topography. Big Bear is 26 miles up the mountain from Lake Arrowhead, Although none of our properties are in Big Bear, we recommend it for a day trip.brbrLake Arrowhead is a private lake & is accessible to guests staying at properties with lake rights if the owners have permitted guests to use their ALA (Arrowhead Lake Association) passes. If this is the case, the Amenity “lake access” will be checked on the listing. In our list of properties, the Gingerbread Cottage, Whispering Pines, Blue Jay, & Emerald Manor are providing lake access. With lake access, specifically, the lake trail is accessible. There is a $10 per person per day fee that is required to be paid to receive a wristband for access. More information can be found on the ALA website. Swimming is allowed from the lake trail at any location except the beach clubs (these are restricted to owners). There is no ability to launch boats or SUPs on the lake. The Village is lakefront & is the main area for shops & restaurants & has a fitness center as well. The Queen boat is a tour boat on Lake Arrowhead that provides much of the history of the town - tickets can be purchased at the shop by the lake. There is a local company that offers water skiing lessons boat tours & rentals. This area has more of a small town & alpine feel to it. The Villas area (south side of the lake) in Lake Arrowhead is cooler & gets more snow that lasts longer than the north side of the lake which gets more sun in the winter & is hotter in temperature in the summer. The Villas area is an older area with older homes & narrower streets. The Tudor House is an event center offering Sunday brunch & a variety of events. Skypark is a local attraction as well as Snow Valley for skiing for both Lake Arrowhead & Lake Gregory. Lake Arrowhead is 15 minutes up the mountain from Lake Gregory. brbrLake Gregory is a public lake in the town of Crestline, a small town about 20 minutes from the base of the mountain of San Bernardino. It is the closest mountain town to events & locations “down the hill”. In the past few years, the lake operations have become privately managed with significant improvements being done at the lake including the development of a water park, beach improvements, & boat, kayak, & canoe rentals. There is a fee to access the beach area & the water park & no fee to access the 2 1/2 mile trail around the lake. Fishing is allowed & more info can be found on the Lake Gregory website. Crestline has a small-town alpine feel with the lake nestled amongst the tall trees. Crestline gets less snow than the other 2 lake locations. The quaint town has restaurants, coffee shops, & thrift stores. brbrTwin Peaks/Blue Jay sits in between Crestline & Lake Arrowhead & is convenient to both lakes. It has its restaurants, shops, & thrift stores. It is famous for its outdoor farmer’s market on Thursday afternoons (seasonal).brbrA car is recommended.brbrEach of the 2 living spaces has its own separate entrance for added flexibility. There is a door between them that can be locked for added privacy. The deck is gated & safe for dogs.brA BBQ is provided at the house, however, please be aware that we do not refill propane. We will reimburse you if you need to fill the propane. If you will arrive late, local stores may be closed or if it`s a holiday may run out of propane so it is advised to bring your own propane tank. if you plan to use the BBQ on the day of arrival.brbrWe have an age minimum of 25 for adults staying with us.brbrThe third queen sleeping space is a loft and is open to the downstairs living space and is accessed with a secured ladder. There is also an extra pull out loveseat with 2 individual twin beds in the room with the queen bed and large windows.brbrThere is an extra guest fee of $12 per person per night for groups larger than 4 adults.brbrIn winter months if there is snow, parking may be limited to one car.brbrFor 28+ nights stay, the refundable damage deposit is $100. (Note: walk is steep.)brIt is 1 mi by car to the Village. brNEW A/C UNITbrPLUS large ceiling fan in the living room and in the two master bedrooms, and portable fans for the other bedrooms and studio as well!brbrA few things to note: -brThe bonus loft area has a click/clack sofa bed) and the charming bonus room in the eaves with a single bed that can sleep 1.- it's adjacent to the upstairs master bedroom.brIt's LOADED with constructive toys. brbrYou can’t tell very well in the pictures but we have added a big dining table for family dinners, an expensive & lovely leather sectional in the living room.brbrThe 5th (not counting the small eaves space) bedroom is a separate guest studio apartment under the garage. It is VERY private, romantic & shares no common walls with the main house. It has a separate entrance and deck with views - but is also connected to the main house by a network of decks in the back. It has a mini kitchen, electric fireplace, desk, sectional sofa, smart tv & dvd player. The bathroom has a NEWLY REMODELED Japanese soaking tub! (The tub may not be suitable for everyone, such as children & people with mobility issues who may have difficulty stepping into & out of it. There's a grab bar, which helps).brbrPETS: There is a fee of $50 PER dog/pet. (You must let us know ahead of time if you are bringing pets.brPlease contact us if you have larger dogs or other pets.brPets are not allowed on any of the beds or furniture because of pet hair etc.brThere is a nice laundry room which has an opening to the house downstairs, as well as a door leading out to the deck and yard they can sleep in and we have a kennel. brPlease clean up after your pets both outside & in the house.br(Note that it's rare but we have had to charge for additional cleaning/damages.)brbrPARTIES MUST BE APPROVED IN ADVANCE. Thanks.)brbrEXTRA GUESTS: Must be approved in advance. brFee is $35 per person per day ($45 holidays). brTHIS INCLUDES DAY GUESTS!brbrNOISE: brThis is a VERY peaceful neighborhood and we ask that you please be mindful of the neighbors when in front of the house and out on the decks and with regards to loud talking, music etc. Especially before 9:00am& after 9:00pm. brbrPARKING: brThere is parking for 3 CARS ONLY in the driveway. Parking is NOT allowed at all on the street per the city at any time for guests! You can be towed. brIf you have more vehicles or can’t fit them in the parking space in front of the garage, you should be prepared to park the extra ones at the village (1 mi away) where there is free overnight garage parking. brbrIf you are there in the winter & there is snow, you may need to clear space for your car & a pathway to the house. Shovels are available for you to do that & we can provide phone numbers for snow clearance, if you wish. This doesn’t happen often. The road itself is snow plowed regularly. brbrSECURITY CAMERA: There is a camera installed outside the front of the house at the request of the city because of complaints from the neighbors of guests parking in the street. This is also for your protection. brbr-MASSAGE CHAIR in APT.br-TOYS, GAMES,DVDs,BOOKS:br-board games & DVDs for your use in the cabinet by main TV.br-Game Room Loft!. Foosball, Air Hockey, Ping-Pong, & Pool! Please return parts or there will be a charge.br-There are building blocks/Lincoln Logs, die-cast cars, & toys in the upstairs little room by the loft. Please keep these parts only in that room and loft area. Please make sure all is returned in PROPER BOXES/BINS!brbrSLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS: br2 master bedrooms: 1 on the top floor (queen bed) and 1 on the bottom floor (King bed & sofa)brThere are 3 floors in the main part of the house) & the studio apartment under the garage which has a queen bed. brThe other 2 each have queen size beds.brOn the top floor there is also a loft with a click clack couch that turn into a bed a small & cozy attic small bonus bedroom off the loft with a comfy single bed on floor.brYou can find bedding on the upper master closet in the big red trunk.brMAIN FLOOR: There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor:br~ the pirate room. This room has bunk beds. (min 150 lbs on top bunk) br~ the second bedroom has a queen size bed.brbrNEARBY ACTIVITIES:br-THE LAKE! -We give you LAKE ACCESS passes- Lake is just a 5 min walk (walk is steep) to the beautiful lake and Orchard Bay! There are snow shovels on the small deck to the left of the garage where the trash cans are stored.brPlease use extreme caution on the driveway and steps down to the studio as the temperatures can get very cold & ice & snow may be present. If you are heading up with snow in the forecast or right after snowfall, please be prepared.brNOTE: We can’t be responsible for the weather, road conditions, power outages on the mountain etc. during your stay. It is VERY rare and there are no refunds. brbrSNOW PLAY:brThe closest ski and tubing areas are in Running Springs (15 to 20 minutes away).br• Snow Drift Snow Tubing Park is very fun & low commitment. br• Snow Valley ski resort is just 20 minutes away. br• Big Bear is about 35 minutes away and has several snow play areas.br• Snow play closer to the house is also possible if snow is present & conditions are right.
