For you winter sports enthusiasts, one of the main snowmobile trails in the area runs across the lake right out in front of this cabin and you can access the trails right from our cabin. The ice fishing is also typically very good with crappie bite typically good right out in front of our cabin. We also have access to the ATV trails just down the road with trailing. You can hit the trails right from our home and explore hundreds of miles of county forest and trail networks. The home features parking for trucks and trailers. This home is brand new construction and was just finished in the late fall of 2022 and comes with a firepit, wide gravel walkway to the lakefront and access to a 30 foot private dock.brbrOne of our favorite things about LCO is the sand bars. There are several of them that are just a short boat ride from the house. We love to anchor and walk around the sand bars and swim. The trails are suitable for intermediates. Multiple trailheads so you may ski shorter segments, along with several loop routes. Snowshoe Trails: with separate trail system. The trailhead in Cable is 17 miles from Birch Point, however many trailheads are available south of Cable off of Highway 63 towards Hayward. Retail sporting goods & equipment rentals available on the North side of Hayward.brbrNorth End Trail Information: Just South of Cable is a wonderful trail system through a gorgeous Northwoods setting. The trails wander over small hills and glacial ridges through a scenic forest of mixed hardwoods: birch, oak, and maple trees; and numerous stands of conifers: red and white pines, spruce, and balsam fir. There are two trails for cross-country skiing. The North End Trail is 13.1 km long with two shorter cutoff loops and is groomed for classic and skate. The North End Classic Trail is 13.5 km long and groomed for classic only with numerous cutoff options. Both trails intersect repeatedly with each other and the Birkie Trail and Telemark Trails to create a massive trail system. Due to the hilly terrain, both North End trails are suitable for those of at least intermediate skills. There are 12.7 km of snowshoe trails, including the Ojibwe Trail. The North End Trailhead is 16 miles from Birch Point.brbrSummer recreation is limitless with boating (utilize our personal dock), kayaking, canoeing, jet skiing, swimming at the Birch Point private beach, and of course fishing! For snowmobiler's the trail cuts right across the lake in front of our cabin. We have a nice access road to the lake so you can hit thousands of miles of groomed trails right from our cabin. ATV and Snowmobile rentals are also available in the area if you don't have your own equipment. Several companies will deliver equipment right to our cabin.brbrBoats- LCO is an amazing boating lake. It's clear clean water is excellent for swimming, skiing and fishing. The lake has a secret sand bar where boaters like to anchor and swim but the majority of the lake is generally fairly deep and has a sandy bottom. We rent out two 2021 Benningtons, one with a 90/125 HP motors ea. We have 4 cabins on this lake so it's first come first server for the pontoon and it often books up early. Your Majestic Retreat rental also includes a private dock to dock your boat, a rowboat and a canoe for you to use during your stay. Additional water toys and boats are available to rent on the lake. Several well maintained public boat launches are also located near the cabin. Power is available at the lake shore for charging boat batteries etc. you will need to bring an extension cord.brbrFire pit and gas grill- There is a nice fire pit by the lake for you to use during your stay. We also supply a Gas Grill on the upper deck for our guests to use free of charge. Lawn chairs are down by the lake and on the deck for your use while staying with us. brbrMajestic Retreat is located approximately 9 miles south of the city of Hayward. It's about 140 miles northeast of the Twin Cities Metro area. The Hatchery Creek Trailhead (Birkie Trail and CAMBA mountain Bike Trail access is also approximately 8 miles from the cabin. There is a casino nearby as well as several wineries. brbrParking- you can park up to 6 cars as well as several boat trailers at Majestic. Sorry, we do not allow camping in RVs on the property or tents. brbrLooking to book more than 12 guests We own the cabins next door as well which also sleeps 12 each. This modern yet traditional log home has all you need to feel just right in the Northwoods. It is located on Nelson Lake, about five miles from downtown Hayward, and well situated for you to enjoy all the area has to offer. The location is ideal, being close to shopping, as well as close to hiking, skiing and biking trails, as well as snowmobiling and ATV trails. brbrLayout:brThis 3 level home has all you need for a comfortable get away. Each floor has a view of the lake. The spacious main floor has two bedrooms, one full bath, and an open concept kitchen, dining room, living room. There is also a laundry room on this floor. Off the main floor is a screen porch, and access to a large deck. The loft has the master suite and a full bathroom. Outside the master suite is an open office area, play/craft area, and a futon.brThe lower level has a bedroom, full bathroom and family room.brThe outside area provides lake access with a small beach area. There is a large 50 foot dock that is shared with another party. You have use of the dock with room for two boats. Two single kayaks and one double kayak is available for your use. You can fish off the dock or fish the 2500 acres of Nelson Lake. There is a large fire pit with fire wood available for your use that is near the lakeshore and is a great gathering spot for day time or evening get togethers. It is a wonderful spot for star gazing or making s'mores.brWe have a small sandy beach area next to our dock on our property. This is great for younger kids. There is a gradual slope to about 5-6 feet of water. Another option for swimming is to go out to a public beach area about 1/2 mile from our dock. This beach has a large sandy area with a gradual slope. It is ideal for family swimming. You can easily park your boat or pontoon on the sandy beach.brbrThe property shares a driveway and parking area with another party. The parking area provides space for you for at least three vehicles and a trailer, with additional space available on an adjacent lot. brThe property managers are next door and are normally available for any questions or concerns.brbrNOTE: We only rent full weeks, Friday to Friday during June, July and August. Teal is known for its' excellent fishing. It's also considered a Quite Lake because it has a 10 MPH speed limit for motorized boats. This means you won't be seeing and hearing Jet skis and ski boats rush by all day long while sitting lakeside or out fishing. If you like to explore for people kayaking, canoeing, and boating the six islands on Teal Lake are owned by the DNR and open to the public for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and exploring; two have picnic areas and grills so you can even do a shore lunch: one island can be camped on overnight. The Teal River is just down our shoreline, and that is also available for fishing, boating, and great for kayaking and canoeing. The depth of the water at the shoreline is a couple of inches and sandy and clear (great for kiddos and dogs), and just sand in that area if in a drought. Pretty much every worm you fish with from the dock will catch you a small panfish, if not bigger (have caught several muskies off the dock, a largemouth bass, and tons of perch, bluegill, crappies, and sunfish)brbrNew in 2022 the owner has purchased two new Kayaks to explore the lake with. The Kayaks are free to use with the rental. Some adult-size lifejackets are available. Be sure to bring any youth-size jackets you might need to guarantee fit. Lifejackets are required to use the owner's kayaks. Paddles are also provided.brbrbrThe cabin is in the heart of the Chequamegon National Forest that features some great and well-marked hiking trails.
