On the main floor: full bath, living room, dining area and kitchen. brbrLocated at the end of the road, you are surrounded by 10 acres of wooded property on this peaceful lake, with over 400 feet of shoreline. With westward facing lakefront views, there is an amazing view all year!brbrUpdates:br- New bathroom towels and decor in 2025!br- New sheets and bedding. Yes, we have actually made your sleep at BCC even MORE comfortable. There is one full bathroom on the main floor, and a 3/4 bath off the family room, along with full laundry facilities and room for equipment/luggage storage.brbrThe kitchen is well-stocked and supplied with pots, pans, cooking utensils, toaster, microwave, service for eight (both indoor and outdoor dishes for an impromptu picnic), and plenty of mugs, wine glasses, beer glasses and tumblers for your beverages. brbrThe deck and enclosed porch are furnished with seating for 6-8, along with a propane grill. There is a fire pit and stacked firewood between the cabin and the lake shore, and the area has been carefully cleared to maximize the view of the lake while maintaining the privacy and natural beauty that attracted us to the area. Landscaping efforts are yet underway!brbrTake a walk along the moss-covered path in the summer, through the leaves of the oak, serviceberry and birch trees in all their autumn glory, along the snow-covered woods in winter, and in the spring, over the emerging flora of the Northwoods. Listen for bullfrogs, songbirds, owls and loons. Watch for wildlife: Sightings of bear, deer, beavers, swans, owls, and turkeys aren’t unusual. The cabin is set on the water’s edge, mere steps from the shores of beautiful Callahan Lake—and is framed by an extra-large, two-tiered deck—where you can enjoy gorgeous sunrises and sunsets from the privacy of your deck and pier.brbrLiving area—The main living area of the cabin is furnished with enough comfortable seating to accommodate your entire group, and all pieces face the two large picture windows displaying stunning views of the lake that are so close, it will make you feel as if you are almost floating on the water. This main living area also contains a beautiful high-end, Joybird brand queen sofa sleeper. We spared no expense on this sofa to ensure that it would be a restful place for anyone to sleep. There is a large armoire in the living area to store clothes and or personal belongings. Paddle boards, a paddle boat, a kayak, and a fishing boat are available for your use., brbrYou may also want to enjoy the solitude and beauty of Northern Comfort in the fall -- fishing continues to be great, the ambiance is awesome and plenty of local trails are available for walking and/or biking while enjoying the beauty of the autumn colors. Winter is a special time too -- a time to try some ice fishing and/or hit the trails for snow shoeing or skiing, and/or just snuggle up with a book and enjoy the serenity of Northern Comfort.brbrWe are less then 10 miles from Hayward which is an awesome town for family fun. Our current home is next door. We fell in love with the lake and all that the Hayward area has to offer so when this place was available to purchase we wanted to share the joy and relaxation we enjoy at Lovejoy with others. brbrThe upper level of this home consists of two bedrooms, a master bath and a main bathroom. A nice size open space includes a family room, dining area, and a kitchen supplied with all the necessary cookware and utensils needed to make a great meal. A plus is that we have chickens and if our chickens are laying we love to share eggs! Welcome to this rustic, cozy cabin on beautiful Nelson Lake where the sunrise greets you in the morning and the sunset peacefully ends your day. It is located on the south shore of the lake with a 100-foot flat frontage making access to the lake incredibly easy. brbrNelson Lake offers a variety of activities including fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, waterskiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing or just cruising around the lake in your boat, pontoon, kayak, or paddleboard. The lake has about 3000 acres with 31 miles of shoreline, depths up to 33 feet and several bays that offer great fishing. You’ll likely see bald eagles flying around the lake, catching fish and nesting nearby. Loons are bountiful and you will hear their beautiful calls as you sit on the dock or patio enjoying your morning cup of coffee or in the evening while you sip on your favorite beverage. The lake also has 6 resorts that offer great spots to stop and have a bite to eat or your favorite beverage, some offering gas. There are also 2 public boat launches on the lake.brbrThe cabin offers a great place to come and relax lake front, whether it’s viewing the lake from the 4-season’s porch / dining room, outside patio, firepit, or just sitting on the dock. There is a spot to dock your own boat or perhaps take one of our kayaks out for a spin on the lake. We have 3 bedrooms that accommodate 6 people with 2 new queen beds and 2 twins. In the winter, we have one full bath although there are two showers in it. Towels are available for use. In the summer another full bath is available in the garage. A full-service kitchen is available and an additional, small refrigerator for drinks is located the entry way. There is a laundry room for any necessary wash, however the clothes washer is only available in the summer due to the frozen septic field in the winter. The dryer, however, is available year-round. We have a large 50-inch TV with cable and WIFI available in the house. There is a grill located on the patio for use in the summer. Our two kayaks are normally kept in the garage. Pontoon rental is available nearby at the Nelson Resort.br We are a short, 7-mile drive from downtown Hayward. It is a terrific small town with a variety of restaurants and shops, especially the ice cream and candy stores. The area is a favorite vacation destination for mid-westerners. You can enjoy taking the kids to Wilderness Walk, a unique outside park-like walk to see a variety of animals or take them for a float down the Namekagon River. We have terrific public golf course in Hayward that would challenge any private course. There is the annual Lumberjack World Championships and the Birkebeiner, cross-country ski race that brings people to the area from all over. The winter affords great snowmobiling and cross-country skiing as well as ice fishing on the lake.

Located on Clear Lake of the Spider Lake Chain and only 20 minutes from Hayward, Bakkestua (which translates as Bakkes' living place in Norwegian) was built in the 80's by husband and wife Norwegian immigrants. The cabin is now taken care of by the next generation, but all of the Norwegian elements remain. There is a mix of traditional and mid-century modern Scandinavian design throughout the cabin including a corner cabinet and chest with rosemaling painting, 2 Scandinavian wood-burning stoves, a reindeer skin on the wall, an ornately hand-carved wooden mangle (traditionally used for ironing in Norway), traditional Scandinavian 'dynes' (duvets) in the bedrooms, as well as other Norwegian decorations and furniture. Stepping into this cabin is a little like taking a mini-trip to Norway.brbrBakkestua has spectacular views of the lake from every living space and bedroom.
