We take pride in doing our best to make your stay a wonderful experience whether you're planning to use the cabin as your base camp while you explore Hayward and the surrounding areas or decide to stay in, relax, and unwind. We are constantly making improvements and upgrades to make your stay that much more enjoyable.brbrbrbrEasy access using a key code & key. brbrbrbrWe love & have lots of dogs and know how important it is to bring your pooch along on your adventure. We are pet-friendly but please let us know if you plan to bring yours, as we do charge a cleaning fee ($30 for the total stay). We may have to send you a separate request for this payment. We ask that you clean up after your dog (inside the cabin & outside), and do not leave your dog unattended in the cabin unless kenneled. brbrbrbrWe provide the essentials - bath towels, shampoo/conditioner, soap, dish soap, coffee mugs, plates, utensils. We have a Keurig coffee maker with assorted coffees, sugar and creamer for you. We also have a regular coffee maker and provide filters. We have a small fridge, microwave and sink. There is an outdoor grill however you will need to bring charcoal & lighter fluid. brbrbrbrThis is a small cabin community with 8 cabins in total and some common/shared spaces - there are 2 community firepits that are for you to use, picnic tables, and multiple docks. You can bring and launch your canoe or kayak right here on the water.brbrbrbrFAQS:brbrbrbrQ: Can we check-in early or check-out late brbrA: It depends. Check in is at 3pm. Ask me and we will do our best to let you know as soon as your cabin is available. We and our cleaning staff have strict protocols to follow and can't always have the cabin ready earlier than 3pm. Feel free to use the common grounds such as the firepits, docks, and shoreline beforehand but please allow our cleaning crew the space they need to properly prepare your space.brbrbrbrQ: Is there WiFi and is it any good brbrA: Yes and yes! We upgraded our router in 2020. We've had many guests stay and work from home and students that complete their coursework from the cabin without a single complaint.brbrbrbrQ: Do we have cable TV brbrA: No, not anymore. We have smart TVs so you can log in to your favorite streaming services. Just remember to log out before you leave.brbrbrbrQ: Do we provide firewood for campfires brbrA: No, however you can purchase firewood at several local convenience stores and grocery stores for $5-6 per bundle. You may also see signs on the drive up to purchase firewood at various residences. There are strict regulations against transporting firewood from other areas so please don't do that. Often times previous guests will leave unused firewood behind so you might just get lucky and not need to purchase any at all. We also don't provide matches/lighters.brbrbrbrQ: Is the water safe to drink brbrA: Yes! We are on the city water line so it is safe to drink and cook with. There is both hot and cold water.brbrbrbrQ: Do I have to clean up before I check-out brbrA: Uh, no. That's our job! Just enjoy your stay. Leave ALL used dishes/silverware out so they can be sanitized. Don't worry about making the bed because we're replacing the linens anyway. Please just lock the door and restore the key in the key box.brbrbrbrQ: Why is the cleaning fee so expensive brbrA: Although the cabin is small, it takes a while to change the linen, restock, sanitize dishes, mop, etc. We try to pay our cleaning crew a livable wage and add in the expense of laundry and common items we supply and it adds up very quickly. We don't make or attempt to make any profit off of the cleaning expense.brbrbrbrQ: Are the other cabins grouped close together brbrA: Yes, the cabins are grouped closely. You can get a sense by looking through all the photos we have posted. Not all cabins on the premises are rented/rentable however.brbrbrbrQ: Is it a contactless check-in brbrA: Yes, it is self check-in and check-out. You will receive a code to access the cabin key in a lockbox. Please return the key when you leave. It's that simple!brbrbrbrQ: Can I swim in the lake Is there a beach brbrA: We have a shoreline with 3 docks but the water gets deep pretty quickly off the shoreline. There are a few spots where it's a little shallower. For a true sandy beach, head to Hayward City Beach which is less than one mile from the cabin.brbrbrbrQ: Does the cabin have good heat brbrA: Yes it does! We recently upgraded to mini-split heater/AC units. The heating and cooling is simply remote controlled and responds much faster than our previous heating system.brbrbrbrQ: Where's the flat sheet on the bed brbrA: Keeping with the European-style theme, the bed has a duvet. We change and clean ALL linens after every stay and take great pride in our cleanliness. We also have an extra blanket stored if you need it.brbrbrbrQ: Is there enough room to park a boat/trailer brbrA: Yes! The parking area is large enough for several vehicles. If you have a trailer, you can back in park in three different areas. We just ask that you not block anyone else in.brbrbrbrQ: Do we have a boat landing brbrA: No, not at our location however there is a public boat launch about a half mile away. You can launch your boat there and tie it down on one of our docks! It's much less than a half mile by boat from the launch to the docks.brbrbrbrQ: What kind of fish are in Lake Hayward brbrA: Musky, panfish, Bass, Northern Pike, Trout, and Walleye.brbrbrbrQ: Do we have boat or canoe/kayak rentals brbrA: No, we don't however Hayward Outfitters/Hayward Water Sports does and they are less than a half mile away, right next to the boat launch.brbrbrbrQ: Are there hiking trails nearby brbrA: There is a paved trail near the parking area for a brief, leisurely stroll. Otherwise check out the Hayward Chamber of Commerce site for hiking and other outdoor activities.brbrbrbrQ: Are there ATV/Snowmobile trails close by brbrA: Yes. Trail access is just across the street from the parking area. Our home is a beautiful Bungalow Craftsman style. It was extensively remodeled in 1999. It has 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, a Screen Porch (with hurricane shutters) & 3 Fireplaces. The master bedroom (king sized bed) and another room (queen sized bed) are on the top floor, and the other three bedrooms are downstairs (two rooms with twin beds and one with a king). There is a family room downstairs with a television and games. Adjoining there is a foosball table and a workout room. The living room is upstairs with cedar beams throughout and into the kitchen area. The kitchen and eating area is maple hardwood, and the kitchen cabinets are cherry.brSleeps 10 comfortably, with additional room in the porch (could sleep 2 on the futon in summertime) No A/C, but fans in every room.brTotal square footage is 4,754 S.F.brThere is a large flat back yard for games and other activities, right on the lakefront. brLake view from all bedrooms (Queen room upstairs view goes through screen porch). The next world record Musky (Hayward's claim to fame) is just waiting to be caught! Public boat launch located 2 miles from the resort. brbrThe resort bar and grill is a short stumble, trip, and fall away, and is open Thursday 4-9 Friday 4-9 Saturday 12-9. I boast the ability to provide warm beer, and cold food. The bar service is not for the faint of heart. Rent a boat (or bring your own) and explore the many islands and miles of uninhabited beautiful shoreline. The cabin is nestled in a quiet neighborhood and is accessed via a paved, dead-end town road with minimal traffic and ATV access. It is ideal for strolls to the neighboring resorts which have full restaurant, bar and amenity services. brbrThe cabin, which sleeps four comfortably, has two bedrooms each having a queen bed and comfortable bedding. There is a bathroom with full shower, a fully equipped kitchen, eating/living area with table and chairs, futon and smart TV with Dish Network. Free WiFi. Portable air conditioners provided upon request. Enjoy your coffee and sunrise on the newly remodeled deck facing the lake with outdoor table, chairs, and charcoal grill. There are docks accessed via gradual walking slope for our guests to secure their boats along with plenty of shaded parking for their trailers and vehicles. A screened in fish house on the property with running water and ample counter space is available for guests to clean their daily catch. Additional freezer space is available in nearby garage along with garbage containers. A full concrete public boat launch is located ½ mile from Golden View.
