My husband and I also frequently stay here, I’m letting you know as we may see each other in passing! brbrAlgoma, Wisconsin is a quaint community nestled on the western shore of Lake Michigan at the southern end of the Door Peninsula. Come and take the Charter fishing trip of a lifetime on Lake Michigan, stroll the beautiful sand beach and boardwalk, relax with a glass of wine from a historic winery or spend the day shopping and sightseeing. There is something for everyone!brbrNo matter what you plan to enjoy in Northeast Wisconsin, Algoma is the ideal place to call home base. You can enjoy the peace and quiet and all that Algoma offers while being just a short drive away from Door County to the north, Scenic HWY 42 to the south, and Green Bay to the west.brbrThe property does have parking lot with one designated parking space per unit. For example if you are staying in unit 2, you will be designated parking spot number 2. If you have more than one of car, there is additional parking on the road or at the park down the street.brbrTo access Unit 2 you will want to enter through the door with the side lights, which is accessed and visible from the parking lot. You will go up the stairs on your right and Unit 2 will be the first door to your right on the second story. brbrOpening the front door you will find the floors to have all new luxury vinyl flooring and tastefully decorated. In the kitchen I have added a dining room table which includes 4 chairs. brbrThrough the kitchen the room opens to the living room. I have chosen the seating arrangement to be conversational and inviting. This includes an 84” sleeper futon couch, relaxing furniture, board games, variety of books and a large smart TV. The living room has a door that leads out to the fire escape platform. Note: There is also an AC window unit located in the living room. If the temperature is hot outside, I recommend to turn the AC unit on when you check in so you can cool the suite off while your outside enjoying the town! brbrAs you stand in the middle of the kitchen and living room areas this will show you the bathroom and both bedrooms. The bathroom is fully renovated which includes a tub/tiled shower and beautifully designed tile floor. Each bedroom is furnished with a queen bed. Note: The bedroom to the right has a locked barn door. Inside the locked door are extra supplies for our cleaners. The bedroom to the left has plenty of hangers for everyone to utilize. brbrWe are beginning renovations on this property in May 2022. I take great care in designing properties specifically with relaxation in mind and can't wait for you to relax and enjoy this property that is within walking distance to everything in Algoma!brbrEach unit has 1 parking spot in the parking lot. The parking spot has each unit number listed on the pavement. There is free parking anywhere on the side of streets. The Steele Magnolia is directly walking/biking distance to everything in Algoma, from being across the street from Von Stiehl Winery, Von Stiehl Cider Bar, Anaphee Brewery, Smashed on the Rocks, charter fishing, downtown shopping and food, and the beautiful sand beach and boardwalk.brbrThis property is a 9-unit apartment building. We do have other long-term renters in the building in units 7 & 9. brbrLaundry:brWe do not have any washer and dryer hookups however we are lucky enough to have a laundry mat right next door!brbrBugs: brEven though we have sprayed inside and outside twice a year, we are by the water! You can expect to see a few insects here and there. brbrDoor lock: Just a hint on the door code, if you touch it to light it up that will count as the first number. Try to touch the first number of the code you were given followed by the remaining 3 numbers. The numbers are in the same location as a phone key pad.

There are large flat screen TVs in every room. This is a newly constructed house, so everything in it is brand new. There is a washer and dryer available for your convenience, nestled in the laundry room. You will enjoy direct proximity to Lake Michigan, and the picturesque views of the lighthouse and all of the boats traveling in the harbor. When the Great Lakes cruise ship stops in Algoma twice a month, it parks directly in front of the house. The house is located adjacent to the marina which is about a five-minute walk to all the classic Door County shops, dining, and recreation. You will also want to visit the beautiful beachside marina and beach. You’ll delight in the discovery of the wineries and breweries, and the variety of dining options in Algoma. There’s a delicious bakery that is a two-minute walk from the house. Partake of the spacious patio, which is covered for your comfort, and can also be opened to the welcoming breezes and breathtaking view. Enjoy Algoma’s Ahnapee Trail, Crescent Beach, premier wineries, brewery, and unique restaurants from your cozy home base. br brYour Door County adventures are just minutes away. We hope you enjoy what our place and Algoma has to offer.brbrNotes:brThe property has two seperate duplexes with seperate climate controls. Each unit has its own private bathroom and kitchen. They share the grounds, garage, basement, and laundry. brbrThe unit has one off-street parking (the right side of the driveway in front of the garage). Park your boat or trailer here. Please do not block the left side. During the summer season, there is plenty of vehicle parking across the street on the road. Parking in front of the house is not permitted (it is a turning zone). From April 1 thru October 31, there is no parking of vehicles on lawns. Additionally, you can not park any type of trailer (including boat trailers) or motor homes for more than 48 hours on city streets. Trailer parking is available at Algoma Marina. brbrPlease do not clean your fish inside the house. A cleaning station has been provided and is located right off the docks. It has running water and a drain. Please dispose of waste appropriately. Please follow Wisconsin DNR recommendations for responsible fish disposal. Fish waste, including guts, can be recycled at Algoma Marina. Dumping of fish waste in the river is a finable offense.brbrDue to the unpredictability of the river, children should not be left unsupervised outdoors. Life jackets should be worn at all times. Docks/slips can be unsteady, please enjoy them responsibly and safely. The shoreline is protected by riprap. For your safety, please do not climb on the rocks.brbrThe property requires a stairway to enter and exit.brbrThis unit has a dock/slip reserved for your stay. Please bring your own mooring equipment and secure your vessel properly. By making a reservation you are confirming you have read, understood, and accept the rules, regulations, and policies detailed in this Hold Harmless Agreement: As part of the consideration for my use and enjoyment of the boat slip, I agree to hold The River House, WHHI LLC, Its Officers, Directors and Members, harmless against any loss or damage, claim or cause of action, arising out of or in any way related to my use and enjoyment of the boat slip. This listing is for Apartment B. Beautiful Apartments in a turn-of-the-century historic building. This is your chance to experience a bit of history when you stay in one of two beautifully furnished apartments above the Gerhart Building. This building dates back to 1891 and 1905. The oldest portion of the building first served as a tavern and the 1905 section of the building was built to be a hardware store known for many years as Gerhart's Hardware. The street-level portion of the building currently houses Hello Dolly, a delightful gift and apparel shop, and The Honeycomb, a great place to drop in and find local artisan items or handmade soaps and candles while vacationing. After you enter the unassuming door on the street level of 2nd Street and climb a short flight of stairs, you will be pleasantly surprised to find two of the loveliest vintage apartments in all of downtown Algoma! They are bright and sunny with floor to ceiling windows in the living rooms and cozy bedrooms, with fully appointed kitchens/ Apartment A has three bedrooms (one queen, one full, and two twins) and one bath and an extra sink and vanity in the hall. There is a large front living area that also has a pull-out couch and a gorgeous '4 seasons' room with knotty pine ceilings and windows around the whole room that offer a panoramic view of the winery, lake, and marina. This apartment has 4 small TV's that are either DVD or VHS ready and there is an extensive DVD and VHS collection with 100's of movies to choose from. Free WiFi is also available. The full-sized kitchen is completely stocked with everything you would need to create a beautiful meal, but you may prefer any of the many fine dining establishments that are less than a block away. Off the Hook and Pizza Bowl are couple of the owner's favorites. There is a washer and dryer available for use also. When you walk into Apartment B, the floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood floors, and graceful arches in the living dining room will take your breath away. This lovely apartment has two bedrooms (one with a queen and one with two twins) and one bathroom. The kitchen is huge and cheery - a great place to cook a good old fashioned breakfast to enjoy at the antique dining table. Again, there is free WiFi and access to a multitude of movies. This would be a perfect place to host a 'girlfriend trip' or a romantic get-away. And don't forget about the Von Stiehl Winery directly across the street! They have a wonderful tour and they host several events throughout the year.
