The house is part of the larger historic cattle and later dude ranch that existed before the turn of the 19th century. The Farm House sits on the site of the original homestead for the entire 600 acre ranch; although later replaced with the current building, the original Homestead was constructed of logs from local Cottonwood Trees and remnants of its root cellar are still visible next to the house. The location of the cabin allows for guests to take a break from the traffic and large crowds that are becoming all too common during peak seasons. Stunning views can be seen from the sliding glass door and front porch. Enjoy the local wildlife as deer, wild turkeys and rabbits are frequent visitors. A barn on the property houses a small herd of goats with babies born each spring. The valley enjoys an excellent dark sky environment, so make sure to step outside at night to take in the stars as you’ve never seen them before. Enjoy preparing meals in the large, well equipped kitchen that overlooks an apple orchard and red rock. Sit at the dining room table while enjoying views of the La Sal mountains. Many custom features such as intricate tile, custom wood work, and oak cabinets adorned with hammered tin art fronts adorn the cabin throughout.
