There is ample parking space for your boat trailer and a shared dock to launch from within a few minutes of the house. The boat can be tied up at our personal dock for the duration of your stay!brbr- The house sits on top of a ridgeline in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains overlooking Douglas lake. The lake frontage is to the east of the home. There is a walking/driving path (approx 800ft) that takes you to the lake where the dock and waterslide are located. This tiny log cabin has private lake access with a small kayak dock. Unfortunately, it is not large enough to dock a boat, but you can use the Douglas Lake Marina, about 10 minutes away to launch your boat. One small kayak is provided, but feel free to bring your own. We do not provide life jackets. This rental is for couples only. Two people MAX! Excellent fishing, and located just south of Dandridge (10 mins). Sevierville is 20 mins, Pigeon Forge is 30 mins, and Gatlinburg is 45 mins. You are close to all the attractions without the hustle and bustle of staying in the city. The cabin is the last house in the cove, so there is very little boat traffic to interfere with your stay. It is attached to a larger home that sleeps 10, if you need room for a reunion, etc. The properties are separated by a 6 ft privacy fence. The lake is a TVA lake, so there is water from Memorial Day until late September ONLY. After that, there is NO WATER. Please see the pictures! There is still lots to do even out of season. This is a great getaway location for a relaxing long weekend or vacation for 2. The small floating dock set up for a kayak or canoe, is just a few steps below the cabin. Nestled about 3 minutes behind our main house, the cabin is only accessible by golf cart, which is provided. We DO NOT ALLOW any vehicles in the cabin area. The cabin is located in an area that is part of our cattle farm and home for a lot of wildlife; turkey, bear, coyotes and other native critters passing through. brbrWe have an above ground swimming pool located at our main house. We offer it for guests use the beginning of June through the end of August.brbrWe are 20 minutes from Sevierville/Pigeon Forge. We go to Pigeon Forge and even Gatlinburg for a day/evening out. The drive going on Hwy 411 from our place to Sevierville is very picturesque with mountain/valley views. We are 8 minutes from Douglas Lake boat launch and 5 minutes from boat/jet ski rentals for Douglas Lake. brbrOur cabin is a very primitive style tiny cabin with modern amenities. It is a small 2 story with living area and full kitchen downstairs and bed/bath loft area upstairs. It has 1 full size bed and will accommodate 2 people. The upstairs loft is an open area with the bed on one end and full bath on the other end, with low ceilings. The bed is an antique high-side bed. You will need to be able to climb stairs to the bed/bath loft area. It has both front and back porches to enjoy the privacy and quiet time in the woods. It has a fire pit in the back which uses wood (we provide the cut wood) and a place to cook over the fire. We also have a grill if you prefer to cook on a grill. brbrBed linens, bath towels/wash cloths/kitchen towels, toilet tissue, and kitchen paper towels are provided. Kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, dishes, silverware and glassware, just bring your food. Basic coffee supplies/coffee pods and a Keurig coffee maker are provided. This log cabin is located on beautiful Douglas Lake and close to the Great Smoky Mountains. We are conveniently located 6 miles off the interstate and 3 miles from downtown Dandridge. This cabin is ideal for couples or active families that enjoy the water and the mountains. This cabin has seasonal water early April to late Sept./early Oct. depending on rainfall. We have a floating dock as long as we have water in the cove.brbrNew pergola deck near the water with picnic table and adirondack chairs. New walkway from the lower deck transitions the hill to the pergola. Canoe available for guests. Also, newly added firepit!brbrThe main bedroom has a king size memory foam mattress, the 2nd bedroom has a queen and the 3rd has two XL twins. On Douglas Lake, the typical annual fluctuation of the water level is about 54 feet. The lake is fed by the French Broad River and Nolichucky River, both of which originate in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. Douglas Lake is rated one of the top five Crappie fishing lakes in the nation, also in the top 10 in the nation for Large Mouth Bass.
