Enjoy stunning views through the picture windows or sit by a fire with your favorite bottle of wine on the spacious deck soaking up all mother nature has to offer. brbr brbrSiltcoos Lake: brbrThe largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass. brbrIt also is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season. brbrSiltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline. brbrSiltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon and is among those mentioned in our article, Best Largemouth Bass Fishing in Western Oregon. brbrYou’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake here, including fallen trees, drop-offs, points, islands and numerous coves and several longer creek arms. There also are some docks, especially where there are a fair number of private homes along the banks on the west and north sides of the lake, many clustered around the communities of Dunes City and North Beach. brbrBass will often move up into the shallower water during the spring, when they spawn just off shore, and they can be aggressive then. They will stage a bit more off shore at other times. brbrCrappie also like to hang out around structure and may be found in shallower water during the spring. Sunken trees and pilings are good places to start. brbrAlso, the lake is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish. brbrTrout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below). brbrNative cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit. brbrThe coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November. brbrThere are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams. brbr brbrWhat’s nearby:

Lower deck to grill with lawn for kids to play (lawn bowling and cornhole). Close enough for a short walk to the beach on the neighborhood Hobbit Trail but a bit sheltered from the coastal winds. Close to hiking, tidepools, the massive Oregon Dunes (rent dune buggies or go on a giant 25 person dune buggy tour), Sea Lion Caves and Heceta Head Lighthouse. Perfect for families, couples, or anyone seeking a peaceful coastal escape. Big cook pot for local seafood meals, board games, books, big screen tv, and cards for fun game nights. brbrWe are dog friendly (2). Just 100 feet down our road, the local hobbit trail is a 7-minute walk, leading you to miles of beautiful sandy beaches (there is some ambling over the dunes and the hobbit trail may be a bit slick when wet so wear sturdy shoes); breathtaking beach ready to explore. Heceta public beach access (2) is also 1/2 mile away with public parking and county bathrooms.brbrSandpiper Shores boasts a great location, conveniently situated only 10 minutes from the historic Old Town of Florence with restaurants and shopping. Jerry's Bar and Grill is a quick walk up the block, across the street from that is a small convience camp store. brbrTHE SPACEbr---------------brThe house has three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a dining room, a kitchen (no dishwasher), and a family room with couches, a 50 TV, and access to the back deck and lawn. The family room has a queen sofa pullout.brbrOne bedroom with a queen bed and a full bath is downstairs. Upstairs has the 2nd full bathroom, the master suite with a queen size bed and another deck with ocean views, and the 3rd bedroom with 3 XL-Twin beds. Pack-n-play for toddler and infant setup and high chair.brbrThe kitchen is fully equipped for cooking meals (no dishwasher), with a Keurig duo coffee machine for k-cups or drip coffee. Washer and dryer onsite and games, coloring books, books, and beach supplies are available for our guests. Air conditioning is in the family room only, and 3 fans are provided. When there is a heat wave inland it gets foggy and cool at the coast. Temps can reach 70-75 and on a sunny day 77 on our top deck, otherwise usually never need air conditioning (true paradise). 50 Roku TV with YouTube TV subscription provided.brbrGreat top deck for viewing sunsets or yoga and a private backyard with a 2nd deck off of the family room with a barbecue grill, corn toss and lawn bowling. It will be on during your stay.brbrThe local hobbit trail to the beach is about 100 feet away from the front door and approximately a 7-minute walk. It is not too strenuous, but if a trail and dune walk is not for you, public beach access with parking is at Heceta Beach County Park (north of us), a 1/2 mile away (2 parking lots- 1 south of the hotel, 1 north of the hotel with 2 toilets). The Hotel also has a coffee and ice cream shop open to the public. Or head south to North Jetty Beach, just 4 minutes from the house with parking and bathrooms too, views of the Siuslaw River Inlet and trails to Heceta Beach.brbrLots of shopping, antiquing, second hand shops and wonderful restaurants in the old town and along coastal 101. Lots of local hiking too or visit Darlingtonia State Natural Site, one of the most accessible bogs of carnivorous plants in the USA. And you will love all the stops up coastal 101 to Yachats and eat at one of our favorite restaurants: The Drift Inn. You can even horseback ride on our beach. You can bring your whole family, the dog, and your boat! Make this your Florence home away from home.brbrbrbrYou enter the home directly into the main living area with a hall closet on the right and the door to the master suite on the left. The main space includes a comfortable sitting area with two armchairs and side tables, a coffee table, and a massively oversized couch. It’s amazing!!! A sliding door leads to a deck in a fenced off portion of the backyard. The dining space includes a table for 4 and barstool seating for another 3 at the kitchen counter. There is a clip on high chair available for families with babies and toddlers. brThe kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes, cookware, and utensils you should need to prepare delicious meals. Essential items provided include paper towels, sponges, extra trash bags, detergent and soap, spices, salt & pepper, oil & vinegar, and a well stocked coffee and tea station. We provide a selection of Starbucks K-cup pods and Twinnings teabags, and an assortment of real and artificial sweeteners and creamers. There is a regular coffee maker available if you wish to bring your own grounds. brAll bedrooms closets include an extra blanket, a luggage rack, hangers, a laundry basket, and a fan(for white noise and air circulation if needed). The master closet also contains a pack and play, baby tub, and other useful items for families with really young people. brAll bedrooms have their own TVs but they are not connected to cable or satellite tv. Only the living room has Spectum TV.brThe laundry closet is located in the hallway leading to the other bedrooms. The cabinets above the washer will be stocked with enough laundry supplies for several loads.  Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving, 
three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail.

There also are some docks, especially where there are a fair number of private homes along the banks on the west and north sides of the lake, many clustered around the communities of Dunes City and North Beach. brbrBass will often move up into the shallower water during the spring, when they spawn just off shore, and they can be aggressive then. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November. brbrThere are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity.
