Located in the Galveston district, the property is walking distance to all the restaurants and shops on Galveston, walking/biking distance to downtown, 3.5 miles to Phil's Trailhead (perfect warm-up distance), and enjoy quick access to the Cascade Lakes Highway for all your Mt. Bachelor and Cascade Lakes adventures.brbrThis comfortable 4 bed, 2 bath house is equipped to accommodate the whole family, especially littles. Please request anything you might need to help lessen your load while traveling or something you might have forgotten! We have 2 fast growing kids, aged 8 and 2 and chances are, we have what you might need. brbrThe house has a garage, but it is small, so it is better used as secure gear storage. As noted, we have an array of bikes that we can make available upon advance request: large male cruiser, medium women's e-bike, Burley trail-a-bike, a few kids bikes. That is good for meandering around the neighborhood, but if you plan on doing some serious biking here, Pine Mountain Sports is less than a mile away and can get you fully geared up to hit up Phil's or any of the other stellar trails in the area. Powder House is right across the street from Pine Mountain Sports and you can rent tubes or paddleboards to float the Deschutes River through town. Or you can rent right from Tumalo Creek Outfitters at the launch point at Riverbend Park. brbrFor an easy adventure you will find Overturf Park, located at thetop of Elgin Ave., with a cute playground for the kiddos and the access trail to hike up and over Overturf Butte. The top provides stellar views of Pilot Butte to the east and on clear days you can see Tumalo Mountain and Mt. Bachelor to the west. brbrAs a general rule, we do not allow pets due to owner allergies, but may consider some cases, so please send us a request for consideration. I've also got pickleball paddles and a yoga mat if you're so inclined! A propane grill is on the patio and the kitchen has brand new full size appliances and everything you might need to prepare a meal, including condiments, spices and seasonings.brbrA sample of Sisters Coffee is provided to get your first morning started :). brbrThe primary bedroom with queen bed has access to the full bath and a cozy loft bedroom has a 2nd queen bed and half bath with a brand new LG washer and dryer set. It sleeps 4 adults total, a 5th may be considered. brbrA gas fireplace not only creates a cozy ambiance but keeps the condo nice and warm and this is one of the few condos with air conditioning! brbrThe property is a NO SMOKING and NO PETS unit and this is strictly enforced. brbrThis home is not child proofed and has steep stairs so I prefer no one under age 6. brbrThe pool area has recently been redone and is open from Memorial Day to mid-September and there is access to the hot tub year round. brbrI love this area - the river trail is right down the road so you can do a 5 mile hike without having to drive anywhere. Century Drive has so many new restaurants and self care options like sauna, cryotherapy, cold plunge, massage, Blow Dry Bar, etc. - you really have everything you need within several miles. brbrThe Old Mill District is a 5 minute drive and Mt. **Blue Bird Cottage!!** Pet Friendly and Hot Tub!br br Located right in the heart of Northwest Bend in the middle of it all, just a short walk to the river, Downtown and Old Mill, so many great restaurants, and the Mt Bachelor shuttle. We are right off Century Drive- the road that goes right up to Cascade Lakes Highway and Mt. Bachelor.br Nicely furnished with all high quality bedding, newer organic high end comfortable mattresses, full kitchen setup, large pine dining table, central gas heat, big back porch with patio set and BBQ and hot tub, fully fenced yard for the kids and pets, washer and dryer, and air conditioner in Summer. We are on a nice quiet street. The bathroom has been newly remodeled in June 2021, a ceiling fan was added in the primary bedroom in 2023, and a new dishwasher in 2023. br The house is a historic 100 year old Old Mill Home that has been remodeled and updated and up to code. Please note it is not a new modern home but it has charm and uniqueness that comes with history. It's not perfect but everything works great and it is comfortable, clean and very cute. We have families that return year after year because they love it and call it home for their vacation. br The kitchen is in a retro 50's decor, from the red vinyl flooring to the red laminate counters and vintage 50's stove. The stove is unique and we chose to keep it because it matches the decor and actually works quite well. The stove tops turn on with the knob but to light the oven there are clear instructions. It can be intimidating the first time but it is pretty easy and works great! br For entertainment, the cottage has a wonderful private deck with patio set and umbrella in a fully fenced backyard where you can gaze up at the night sky or bask in the sun and relax after a day of skiing, riding, or playing all day in the outdoors. There is a hot tub available all year round. The hot tub cover needs to be pushed over onto a rail which can be a little hard for some people, but everyone seems to figure it out without much trouble. The cottage also features 3 bike cruisers, wireless internet, Roku with Netflix on large flat screen television, DVD player with movie collection (or a Red Box just down the street). The back deck is wonderful and relaxing in the warm summer days. In the Summer months there is a portable air conditioner in the living room and bedrooms. There are a bunch of board games for the kids and adults, and some toys for the younger kids.br The washer and dryer are in the basement. Please note there are stairs into a basement under the house and it is unfinished but fully functional and orderly. It hasn't seemed to bother anyone yet, but I like people to know!br The information folder in the cottage has sections on great restaurants with maps, outdoor activities, where to food shop for groceries, hospital info, a kid section, pet section on local dog parks, and much more. br The gate into the property feels narrow but so far all cars, trucks, sprinter vans have fit in it just fine. It just takes a bit of careful driving to fit through. The Gate closes so that the yard is fully fenced. br Baby and kid friendly - crib, highchair, bathtub, stroller, baby/toddler hiking pack in basement ready to use. There are three great parks with playgrounds within a short walk from the house. The large information folder in the cottage has a huge section on kids activities including maps to all the parks and stuff to do in Bend with kids -we know since we live here with young kids! br br Pet Friendly- The yard is fully fenced, there are dishes for the dogs, a bed and a section in the folder for the dogs! There is a great off leash dog park on top of Overturf within walking distance- about 7-10 min walk, with a map and directions to it. Also the folder describes the other close dog parks and off leash areas.br brThe cottage is located 3 blocks from the River, a short walk to Downtown and Drake Park and Old Mill, a 1 minute drive or 5 minute walk to the 'Park and Ride' Shuttle to Mt Bachelor, and 30 minute drive to Mt. Bachelor.brbrOwner may come on to property to service hot tub if guest is staying longer than 2 nights. Owner will message guest to get permission to service hot tub but if there is no reply we will knock on the door and if no one is home and the car is gone we will service it.
