Our yard is very spacious and there is lots of wildlife in the woods area, who knows, maybe you’ll even see a bear! We hope that you enjoy our cabin as much as we do.brLife gets hectic and sometimes we need a gentle reminder to put ourselves first every now and then. We decided to name our home “The Lazy Bear Cabin” to remind of us that when we are at the cabin, it is okay to be “Lazy” and relax. brbrThe Great Sacandaga Lake is a man-made lake with a surface area of about 41 square miles and a length of 29 miles. The word Sacandaga means “Land of the Waving Grass” in the local native language. The primary purpose for the creation of the reservoir was to control flooding on the Hudson River and the Sacandaga River by use of the Dam. Water levels fluctuate depending on weather conditions and Damming but tend to be the highest at the beginning of the season and the lowest at the end.brbrGuest access: Guests have access to the entire house aside from the furnace room. Guests do not have access to shed or garage. Guests do not have access to the washer/dryer.brbrEarly check-in/late check-out: If you would like to check in early or check out late, please let us know at the time of booking. There is a $30 fee for early check-in or late check-out. Although it is not guaranteed, we will make every effort to fulfill your request.brbrFun Facts: br1. That's what booking a trip is all about, anyway. We recommend doing your grocery shopping before you arrive. If you forget something, the closest grocery stores are Tops Supermarket or J.F. Farm Store & Café in Northville (20 minute drive).brbrKey/Door Procedures: Prior to your arrival, you will receive a code to the cabin. This code will ONLY be valid from check-in time to check-out time. Please lock all doors each time you leave the property. brbrOccupancy Limit and Restrictions: 6 people max (please keep in mind, all children including infants count as occupants!) If we make an exception to allow more than 6 people, there will be a charge of $40 per person, per day. br brRules: We only allow guests who agree to treat our home like their own. br• Do not plug in any power strips. br• Do not run the microwave and toaster at the same time, it will trip the breaker which is locked in the furnace room. br• No excessive water usage please, we have a well! br• Guests have access to the entire house aside from the locked furnace room. br• Guests do not have access to the garage or shed. br• Guests agree to notify us immediately if any maintenance problem develops at the property so it can be remedied as quickly as possible. And yet at the end of the day, you can easily escape home to our welcoming oasis on the lake.brbrThis open-concept home has 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and enough sleeping arrangements for up to 12 guests to spread out comfortably throughout over 2,300 square feet of living space, making it an ideal accommodation for a family or group of close friends looking for a memorable lake vacation.brbrYou’ll feel right at home the moment you step inside the home’s bright interior with beautiful reclaimed wood posts and beams, expansive windows with views to the lake, and access to a huge deck outfitted with plenty of seating for all. The large, fully-equipped kitchen opens to the dining area and has room for everyone to gather. There is an open but cozy family room with both a flat-screen TV and a shuffleboard table. This home encourages quality family time, but is also large enough to provide quiet areas to retreat to! brbrLocated on the 1st floor, there is a Master Bedroom with a king-sized bed, gorgeous lake views, and a screened-in porch. What a wonderful way to wake up each morning! Across from the Master is a bright bunk room with 3 twin-sized beds. The kids will love staying in this room together. Also located downstairs, in an alcove off of the living room, is a sofa that folds down allowing for additional sleeping space (ideal for a child, not an adult).brbrUpstairs has two additional bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed and the second with a queen-sized bed, as well as a trundle bed that pulls out to accommodate two twin-sized mattresses. An additional twin-sized cot is also available upstairs. There are fire pits at the Guest House and at the lake. There are also 4 kayaks, a canoe, a john boat, lots of life vests and floats available for guest use. Town park and boat launch is conveniently located only 1/4 mile away. During the summer months we enjoy daily wildlife visitors such as deer, and turkeys. There are several local restaurants, wineries, breweries and shops around the lake, and it is only a 45 minute drive or less to Lake George, Great Escape Amusement and Water Park, Saratoga Race Track and Casinos, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Animal Land Zoo, tubing, horseback riding, rodeo adventures as well as many other fun attractions.
