There is parking for 1 vehicle (additional parking may be available). The home is located about 1 mile from several shops and markets (including Stop & Shop). You will enjoy this 1750 house, only one and a half blocks away from the cobblestones of lower Main Street. Very cozy for a small family! The house is well equipped with appliances, washer/dryer, central air, large flat screen TV, outdoor shower with two shower heads out back. We just finished renovating! It's got one parking space (though we feel it's not necessary to bring a car). The address is 17 Washington St. The house is set between the Handlebar Café (coffee shop with great cinnamon muffins ) and the Nantucket Artist's Association. All you could hope for with shops, restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops and NRTA bus station/stops all a very short and lovely walk (1 minute). brbrLive within a very short walk to Nantucket town and harbor! We have just installed a new kitchen counter with farmhouse sink and new floors this past Fall. Note, the three fireplaces look great with candles in them… But are not operational for fires. Most of the floors are antique wide board pine.br Lastly, we urge our guests purchase outside travel insurance that covers trip cancellations due to dangerous travel conditions from bad weather since we are on an island subject to wind and high seas. This is a happy place were families gather to savor the important moments of their lives. This grand house is meticulously maintained so celebrate in style and create those perfect photos. The secluded beach is only a short distance from the house so saying good morning to the neighborhood seals could become a morning routine. The pool is heated, the yard is large and the moors give you privacy. The outdoor grill is on the deck so it is convenient to grab supplies while cooking and the mini fridge for beverages is nearby. There is an upper and lower deck. We like to sit on the lower deck and have dinner near the grill but the upper deck is better for the spectacular views. The kitchen is so spacious you can socialize and cook at the same time. The dining room table is 12 feet long so loved ones can sit together and debate Nantucket topics such as whether the pool or beach is better. There are three suites with king beds and a private bath in each of them. The fourth full bath is in between the bunk room and the twin room. What is not listed is our music studio in the basement...feel free to play the baby grand. Our family lives there in the off season so we ensure the house is well maintained.

Private beach on the South Shore of Nantucket (Madequecham Valley) provides maximum privacy in an area of few houses, surrounded by open and protected land, reached by dirt road. Right on the beach. Large deck less than 200 feet from the bluff. You can watch the ocean from the house. Gorgeous sunsets every night.brbr6 Queen bedrooms, 4.5 bath.br brPS VRBO's map is wrong. VRBO map seems to indicate we are a mile from the beach, and says it's a 7 minute drive, but that's incorrect. We think VRBO is incorrectly pegging beach to the public beach nearby.brbrThe spacious, light-filled, open floor plan hosts a modern kitchen, LR, and DR with fantastic views of the ocean. The DR opens to a very large, open deck overlooking the ocean, with two outdoor dining areas and sitting areas. 2025 Renovation. New lower level has high ceilings and lots of natural light from windows and a sliding glass double door, with large LR area and satellite TV. brbrPrimary BR suite on 2nd floor has a private bathroom and office area, plus two private decks offering sweeping views of the ocean, moors, sunrise, and sunset. All 6 bedrooms have Queen beds with new, organic mattresses, new duvet covers. One BR has private doors to deck overlooking the ocean. brbrDR has new farmhouse dining room table and chairs. LR has newly upholstered furniture (please be careful not to spill on it, as we love the new patterns and they're hard to replace). LR and downstairs den have Satellite TV. Kitchen has a new (June 2022) refrigerator and washer-dryer; new (Aug. 2020) gas range, new tools, new cutting boards, new dinnerware, new flatware, new steak knives, new glasses, etc. Outdoor shower. New Weber charcoal grill (September 2025). Linens, beach towels provided. brbrTenants may use owner's beach umbrellas, deck umbrella, boogie boards, and paddleboards, if careful. brbrFull unobstructed sky allows incredible nighttime star-gazing!brbrIf you want peace, privacy, a gorgeous beach, and a natural setting, this is ideal. If you are hoping to be walking distance to shopping, then you might prefer to rent in town. If you aren't familiar with Nantucket, please realize that Nantucket is a rural community. For example, half of Nantucket roads are dirt roads (including ours) and they can be bumpy. brbrNo Pets.
