While it is possible to traverse on foot to the ledge by utilizing the pathway behind the red metal swing gate, currently some bushwhacking is required as we look to bring the pathway back to maintenance. For easier local access, there are two nearby trails within Daniel Boone National Forest that offer views into the Gorge. Corner Ridge trail rests just 1.6 miles from the property and is located on the left side of the road just past Egelston Cemetery and The Tarr Ridge Trail is just 4.8 miles away on the left just after the Job Conservation Corp building in a dirt parking lot labeled Geological Survey Area. As they sit outside the state park itself, these trails provide views of the Gorge while escaping much of the tourism that rightly accompanies such a natural wonder. The trail offers views into the gorge from several finger shaped ledges that avoids the tourism of the State Park. It is just a few miles down the road. We are a 20 Acre old tobacco farm with a private gorge located 15 minutes from the North entrance of Red River Gorge. We are only 1.5 miles from Sheltowee trace and 20 minutes from Cloudsplitter, Indian Staircase, and Jump Rock! Come relax and get away from it all in this 2,000 sq ft creekside home. The barn in the backyard is the entry way to the trail that leads you down to the creek and waterfall or through the forest and up to the top of the hill where you will find over an acre of clearing perfect for bonfires and stargazing. This modern cabin has a large eat in kitchen for 10 and is fully stocked with all your pots and pans as well as plenty of plates and utensils to spare. The two main bedrooms each have a queen bed and a sofa sleeper perfect for kiddos. The middle bedroom is great for kids with a couch, a smart TV, Wi-Fi, and bunk beds with a third pull out bunk on the bottom! The living room has a full size pull out couch for additional sleeping area. There are 3 decks and a large patio at the back with a 8 Adirondack chairs, a fire pit and a grill. Our cabin is centrally located in the middle of Red river Gorge-Natural Bridge area, Cave Run Marina (main marina for rentals), two ATV Parks, Mt. Sterling and Morehead, KY. We are two miles from Cave Run Lake and Long Bow Marina. Our fully furnished cabin has two full rooms each equipped with own gas fireplace (one with remote), couch, sleeping quarters, cable tv and wi-fi internet. Enjoy a new 'screened in porch we call our 'Resort room', with a nautical theme and newer Nordic hot tub with' 'massage jets', and whirlpool function. brbrWe just added the resort style screened in porch which adds a unique dimension to getting away. You can enjoy the outdoors without the rain, sleet or snow hindering your enjoyment of the hot tub, surfing the net, dining, bringing most desired activities you do inside the cabin to the outside undisturbed. Cook out on our all new park style charcoal grill with cement pad in a bed of river rock then chill enjoying a good meal in the comfort of your private 'Resort room'.
