We are 2 miles from the Chickamauga Battlefield for great hiking, biking and horseback riding and 30 minutes east of Cloudland Canyon State Park for hiking and caving. Our 31 acres offer a quiet place to get away for a personal retreat weekend or an extended stay. We have a great set up for a family as the bedroom downstairs is quiet and the upstairs bunk room makes for a great slumber party. brbrOur accommodations include a one bedroom/1 bunk room cabin complete with full kitchen, laundry room, 2 baths with showers. The bedroom downstairs has a queen bed. There is also a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Upstairs can accommodate 6 people: 2 bunkbeds and a trundle bed. There is a full bath both downstairs and upstairs. The half bath is in the SHARED (with camper guests) laundry room. Wifi and TV are included. The kitchen has a full sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. We leave coffee and tea and eggs for you to enjoy.brbrWe live on the property in a 145 year old farmhouse across the yard from the guesthouse. While we like to greet guests when they arrive, we are happy to interact as much or as little as you prefer.brbrWe are fine with guests using our grill in the yard and letting their dogs play there. We have 6 fenced acres with a pond and two dogs, Rocco and Dakota. Rocco is a boxer/mastiff and Dakota is a boxer girl. Our pastures are great for walking, biking, and scenic views and the pond is available for contemplative moments or dog swimming, whichever you prefer.brbrWe also offer another listing if you need more beds for your family or group. We have a vintage camper that we rent that can accommodate up to 3 more people. Please inquire about availability.brbrDogs are welcome. If you need it, there is a dog kennel available. We keep our 5 donkeys in the big pasture and have our own family of friendly pasture pets in the Goat Park on the far side of the barn. You will likely see them while you sit out at the picnic table. Pats and supervised cuddles are encouraged!brbrLET US KNOW IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO CATS . We do not often host guest kitties and when we do, we have a different cleaning protocol. We can let you know when the last cat was in the Bunkhouse.brbrBe aware that we keep chickens and have some roosters. Roosters crow all day, FYI. And, this is important, our birds are very free ranging and some live in the yard with our dogs. We always ask guests to keep their dogs leashed when arriving until we can see how they react to chickens. There are lots of other places around the property to run off leash if being in the yard with chickens is too much for your dog.brbr We are on the property and close by, but our rental is separate from our home for your personal privacy. However, the Bunkhouse is part of a larger structure that includes our garage, music studio, and barn.brbrThe city of Chickamauga is within a 10 minute drive and downtown Chattanooga is just 15 miles away. There is also a local Food Lion grocery and drug store 5 minutes away. brbrChattanooga offers many outdoor activities from hiking to paddle boarding and bouldering to just strolling the 25 mile Riverwalk. There are lots of good restaurants and music venues as well. Lake Winnepasauka Amusement park is 15 minutes away and a family favorite. Traveling into town from our place is easy and stressless. Also available are the auxillary house (3 bedrooms/2baths/sleeps 8) and the Barn house which sleeps 4, has 2.5 baths, and a non-kid game room. Both of the houses are 500 feet from the lodge at the bottom of the ridge with a driveway going to them. THE AUXILLARY AND BARN HOUSE HAVE ADDITIONAL FEES AND ARE NOT INCLUDED IN BOOKING PRICE. Please talk to Jon if you would like to add either or both houses for your group. We can sleep 32 people in beds with all 3 houses. br The lodge can sleep 20 people in beds and there is plenty of room for everyone. The 2 adjacent great rooms provide lots of options for tv watching, gaming, conversation, or just relaxing by the fireplace. The 2,200 sq. ft of open area on the ground floor is perfect for connecting with family and friends. Previously, in the summer season we only booked by the week from Saturday to Saturday BUT THIS SUMMER WE ARE OFFERING 3 OR 4 NIGHT STAYS! We can do a Saturday-Tuesday (3 nights) or Saturday-Wednesday (4 nights) or a Tuesday-Saturday (4 nights) or a Wednesday-Saturday (3 nights) PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE LESS THAN A WEEK WHEN YOU INQUIRE AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ACCOMODATE YOUR NEEDS!br The 2 kitchens provide lots of options for the cooks and chefs as well. The larger kitchen has a gas oven, convection oven, and convection microwave oven as well as 2 full sinks,dishwasher,XL fridge, and lots of countertops for preparation. The smaller kitchen has an electric stove, XL fridge, dishwasher, full sink, washer/dryer, and more countertop areas. There are 2 full-size dining room tables and seating at the bar in the larger kitchen/dining area as well.br There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor and 1 full bath and a 1/2 bath as well. These rooms all have queen beds in them and give our guests who don't want to climb stairs the option of not having to while still being able to access the great rooms.br Upstairs there are 2 huge master bedrooms that each have king beds, sitting areas, bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs, and walkout balcony decks with gorgeous views. There is also the bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds and also a loft area with a very comfy futon and Thomas the Tank Engine track set for the younger train enthusiasts. At the top is the tower bedroom which has incredible views in all directions and has a full bed in it.br The lodge has over 2,500 sq. ft. of decks and porches so no matter what time of day it is you can find some shade or sun to relax in a rocker or chair. The covered front porch is great if it's raining to listen to the rain on the metal roof or to watch the sun set over Lookout Mountain. The back screened in porch is awesome to enjoy birdwatching or listening to the sounds of nature. The enclosed porch has the foosball table and sauna and outdoor game equipment and the 3 balcony decks are great for a morning cup of coffee to start your day. The large side deck has incredible views year round as you can see to the end of the cove.br The back patio has the hot tub and leads to the 36 ft inground pool that is exclusively for your use. The pool is the place to be for all ages either wearing out the young ones or relaxing for the older ones. Also in the back is the fire pit and outdoor fireplace which provide endless hours of memories while relaxing and roasting marshmallows.br There are 3 acres of front yard space for kids to roam and play games as well as the woods to explore. Take a mile hike on the property that goes through the woods and across the lower pasture to Chickamauga Creek which is on the property. The creek is 30 feet wide and usually is only a few feet deep. The kids love to play in the creek and look for animals and their footprints. Also, searching for arrowheads is a popular endeavor around the creek as well. brThe Lodge of McLemore's Cove is a custom built 6,000 square foot log home that has many unique features that will make your stay memorable. The 28 ft. cathedral ceilings and the massive 10 foot front doors are a glimpse into what is in store for our guests. Gorgeous mountain views in all directions and unheard of privacy make this a place that seems to have been untouched by time. The Lodge sits atop a ridge with Lookout Mountain 2 miles to the west and Pigeon Mountain 2 miles to the east and the end of the McLemore's Cove 5 miles to the south. The early risers can watch the sun peek over Pigeon Mountain and everyone can watch the beautiful sunsets over Lookout Mountain. And the best is yet to come as once the sun sets the spectacular night sky puts on a show that is breathtaking. If you love nature's beauty then you will be at home here and if you enjoy real log homes this is the place for you. If you want the big city and parking lots then you may have a change of heart after your visit. The cottage can sleep several, and is great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.brbrThe spacebrbrThis is truly a storybook/fairy-tale cottage and decorated with loving attention to detail! It even has a spinning wheel!brIt has a small kitchen, small dining area , 2 nice decks and a front porch, and a campfire pit . It has a bedroom downstairs with a full bed, a fold out bed in the, living room with flat screen tv w/cable, luxurious bathroom with vintage claw-foot tub and separate shower, upstairs has a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a 1/2 bath across the hall from the another bedroom that has 2 full-size , built in captain beds. The cottage has multiple levels and also has a fairly steep set of stairs – so is not be ideal for babies or busy toddlers: younger guests will need help and a close eye!
