There are snow-parks nearby for sledding, and Bear Valley is a family-friendly resort for downhill and cross-country skiing. brbrThere are endless options for outdoor recreation, such as hiking at Calaveras Big Trees State Park, golf at Sequoia Woods Golf Course, as well as swimming, fishing and kayaking or boating at Lake Alpine, Spicer, Utica and New Melones reservoirs. brbrWith an entrance fee, the Snowflake Lodge (across the street) offers fantastic recreation, including a pond, pool, snack bar, play yard, basketball courts, horse shoes and tennis courts. As a parent, my favorite aspect of the cabin’s location is that we can walk to the lodge in just a few minutes, or watch the older kids walk to the lodge themselves as we relax on our sunny deck and smell the sweet forest. brbrProximity to the lodge is very convenient for carrying rafts and pool toys for the kids or going up to the house to get snacks and cocktails to enjoy by the pond. The Lodge also offers children’s entertainment, such as “cubby bear time” with arts, crafts, and stories, bingo, swimming lessons and tennis lessons. In the summer months, you can walk down to the Blue Lake Springs outdoor amphitheater to watch movies with the whole family. brbrEnjoy the comforts of home while watching your children play in the great room. There are portable speakers for the deck where you can enjoy your meals or gaze at the stars. If you are looking for a comfortable retreat from busy city life, this is the place. There are two bedrooms and a loft for older kids, aged 8 and up. The kitchen is well equipped with a new stove/oven, pots, pans, and utensils. One bedroom with a king bed and one bedroom with a queen bed. The loft has two twin beds. The property is in a cul-de-sac, making it great for the kids to play outside on their bikes, scooters, etc. The backyard is also vast and accessible. We use a Ring surveillance camera system to monitor the property’s outside perimeter. We require a picture ID before disclosing key access. After you book the property, please send Driver L. for all adults, and you will promptly receive an updated rental agreement with owner and renter information. You will have 24 hours to return the said contract with signature/acceptance. brbrWinter: Please keep in mind that winter conditions may require chains/cables and or AWD/4X4. Our street is a county-maintained road. Make sure your car is well-serviced and pack a winter emergency bag. When you are prepared, winter weather is a wonderful adventure, so plan accordingly. brWith unpredictable weather, we highly recommend trip insurance. In Winter, our cabin is cozy and warm. The 1284 square foot Gathering Place can host up to 10 people, providing 2 private bedrooms and an open loft with three full beds. There is everything you'll need for a relaxing, comfortable stay from comfortable bedding and linens to fluffy towels. The entire home has been tastefully furnished with brand new furniture, including all new memory foam mattresses. Hairdryer, towels, and complimentary toiletries will be provided. We also have a washer and dryer for your convenience. Central AC provides much-needed cooling in the hot summer months while central heat handles the cold winter nights. Park in the flat driveway conveniently located right next to entrance stairs.brbrThe downstairs provides an open concept living and dining area which is a warm and inviting area that is great for relaxing. Cozy up on the couch by the user-friendly natural gas fireplace while watching a movie or sports game on the 40” smart tv. YouTube TV, Netflix, and Disney+ are provided.brbrWe have a variety of board games and card games available that you’re more than welcome to use along with an assortment of toys! Bring the competition outside for a game of cornhole ! Please note that the loft area is open to the rest of the cabin below so keep that in mind during booking. But wait…our cabin is not only family-friendly, it is also dog-friendly! There is a loft bedroom upstairs for the kids with a full bed and five twin beds and a half bathroom. There is also a foosball table in the loft. The open floorplan allows for the kitchen to be open to the dining area and living room. The cabin has a full size washer & dryer. The deck is great for eating outside with a picnic table or sharing a bottle of wine on the corner benches.brbrThere is a propane BBQ for guest use in seasonal weather. brbrR-Cozy-Cabin's A-Frame is the perfect retreat for relaxation or to fulfill all your outdoor adventure desires. brbrAccess Information: You will receive check-in instructions, including your access code for entry, 2-4 days prior to your scheduled arrival date.
