Private cabin that sits extremely close to Little River Canyon at only 3 miles. While sitting only 4.7 miles away from DeSoto State Park making this cabin right in the middle of the areas most popular must see destinations. This cabin has two separate bedrooms and each has a queen sized bed . One upstairs and one downstairs. A custom very unique walk in shower. Very comfy living room area with a fire place and many overhead lighting options for the perfect mood. The upstairs sitting area is perfect for the morning coffee drinker or book reading while staring out the large open windows. The rear porch is the favorite for anyone who visits. Its extremely private, has a large hot tub, a nice sitting area or you can explore the wilderness right outside the back door. The cabin will make you feel as your all by yourself yet your less than 8 minutes to town. We also have great phone and internet service. The kids and adults both will enjoy the moments around the unique fire pit, It offers huge oversized boulders that many friends can sit around for late night fun and marsh mellows. The cabin is completely surrounded by thick trees and sits on a dense private wooded 5 acre lot. We also keep a charcoal grill at the back porch for those that like to grill out. We are about a 17 minute drive to Weiss lake, or a 10 minute drive to Fort Payne water reservoir and within 20 minutes Dekalb County Lake. So bring those kayaks and boats along with you for some great fishing. brbrWe are very communicative and will happily guide you to the areas best attractions whether it be Restaurants, Fishing, Hiking, Malls and so on. Explore waterfalls, parks, shops, and restaurants. Relax by the fireplace with a cup of coffee and enjoy views through a canopy of trees. Deer and turkeys are spotted often near the creek! There are two easy walking trails near this Treehouse - each perfect for picnics on the ground and access to a swing-for-two in the woods! One trail leads to a rippling brook that runs through the property. Renew, refresh, and be restored!brbrNot long after you turn onto the private road (one-lane-only so descending/exiting vehicles should yield to incoming/ascending vehicles and back up until there is space to pass) that winds through the 14+ acre retreat called Haven of Hope, you will see Serenity Escape Treehouse on your right. You have a private driveway and parking area. 2 cars max. A smaller car can park directly underneath the treehouse. Don't block the main private road, because continuing on the private road, you will pass two walking trails - Rippling Brook Walking Trail on left and Lost and Found Walking Trail on right. You will then see Peaceful Hideaway Treehouse on your left (also available - sleeps 6), and Happy Glamper RV (also available - sleeps 2) and the homeowner's cabin is located at the end of the private road at the top of the mountain. brbrBeside the parking area, there are stairs leading up to the Treehouse entrance from parking. When you enter the Treehouse, you will know your peaceful retreat has begun as you are surrounded by that familiar knotty pine wood on each wall. From every window on each of the two stories, you will see refreshing views through a canopy of trees.brbrThe primary bedroom on the main floor boasts beautiful window views and a thermostat-controlled electric fireplace, and there is a small Roku TV in the corner. There are 2 chairs in the room that may be added to the dining space when there are 6 guests. For the queen bed, there is a 12 memory foam mattress and new, quilted bedding for your rest and relaxation. An extra blanket, vacuum, portable high chair (if needed), and box fan can be found in the closet. brbrA bathroom is directly across the hall from the main bedroom with a full tub/shower combo and a double-sink vanity. There is a large frosted window to provide privacy but allow lots of daylight during the day. There is a stackable washer/dryer and ironing board with an iron available in the bathroom for your convenience. brbrMoving into the main living area, you will appreciate the sight of a leather sofa and loveseat, as well as another chair and ottoman. The coffee table is multi-functional and the top can be raised to table height if desired. There is plenty of room for your family to enjoy this space. There are board games, puzzles, books, and reading information about Lookout Mountain in Alabama. On cool mornings, you will enjoy the gas log fireplace that is thermostat-controlled. For movie nights in, there is a flat screen 55 HD Roku television, and highspeed Wi-Fi is available so you can stream your own favorite subscriptions.brbrDirectly next to the living room area is the dining area. There is comfortable seating for up to six (2 additional chairs are kept in the primary bedroom). The bench at the farm table has additional storage as the top can be lifted. brbrFrom the dining area, look out through the glass-paned double doors to the covered balcony area. On the balcony, you will enjoy capturing scenes of nature from the height of the treehouse. Native plants and a variety of wildlife can be seen in the morning as you enjoy that first cup of coffee. Listen close for the footsteps of deer that run close to this Treehouse frequently. brbrClose to the Treehouse, you will notice a brick fire pit designed with your retreat in mind. Take the private road to the top of the hill (owner’s home away from home), and feel free to take some chopped firewood as needed so that your family can make s’more memories. Extendable roasters are located in a kitchen drawer for your convenience, and “Rim of the Canyon Café and General Store” is less than 2 miles from the property and has s’more supplies and lots of other goodies for your retreat! Near the fire pit is your Charcoal/wood-burning Campground-Style BBQ Grill with a metal bucket and lid to collect BBQ grill ashes. Also close to the fire pit, you will notice a double hammock for even more relaxing moments on your retreat, and there is a picnic table for your outdoor dining enjoyment.brbrBack in the Treehouse, you will find a well-equipped kitchen with a refrigerator (and ice maker), stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, electric kettle, blender, cooking pots, can opener, pans and utensils, dishes, drinking glasses, eating utensils, cooking spices, coffee mugs, and more. The porches make a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or hot tea in the morning and take in the views :) Stepping inside these cabins, you will know your peaceful retreat has begun as you are surrounded by windows that reveal refreshing views through a canopy of trees. Welcome to the Lagniappe Lodge – our own hidden slice of tranquil mountain life. We named our place the Lagniappe Lodge because the word “Lagniappe” is a Cajun word (pronounced lan-‘yap) that means “a little something extra” and that is exactly what this place is – full of extra features and surprises.brbrIf you are looking to stay at a place that is unique - look no further.brThe Lagniappe Lodge is completely off the grid. All of our power is solar-generated and all of the water comes from an on-site well. We now have high-speed Internet through Starlink, so you can stay connected while enjoying the isolation and tranquility of the property, while unwinding from the distractions of today’s busy life. We also have a back-up generator to ensure there is always adequate power to the cabin.brbrThe Lagniappe Lodge is a 3,000 sq foot, 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom cabin with a spacious loft and can sleep 8 guests comfortably. The entire cabin consists of an open floor plan with multiple sitting areas to relax and visit. The cabin is filled with special architectural features, including:br- Vaulted all-wood ceilingsbr- Reclaimed wooden beams throughout the house, sourced from the original Atlantic City boardwalkbr- Floor to ceiling windows offer a magnificent view of the canyon, through reclaimed hand-blown glass windows sourced from one of the oldest courthouses in Tennesseebr- Two reclaimed stained glass windows, sourced from a church in Pennsylvania and Englandbr- Stone wall built with rocks collected from the propertybr- Large natural rock face mantle in the den - there is literally the side of the mountain in the living roombr- Huge wrap-around deck with 1000 sq ft of space to enjoy the outdoorsbr- Outdoor fireplacebrbrThe property is 18 acres of beautiful forest and rock formations, situated on the side of a canyon that overlooks Johnnie's Creek. There are two waterfalls on the property, the largest of which is visible from the deck and side patio. There is nothing more relaxing than sitting outside and listening to the sound of the waterfall. As its name implies, this cabin and retreat property offer guests a peaceful retreat and cool mountain getaway, deep in the woods and high atop Lookout Mountain in Alabama. This cabin also has an optional no-stairs entrance (4 ft+ ramp), 32” interior doors, and wide floor space in the bedrooms and in the living room. Explore waterfalls, parks, shops, and restaurants. Relax by the rock fire pit or on the front porch with a cup of coffee, and enjoy views through a canopy of trees. Wildlife is spotted frequently on the property, and beautiful hiking trails are walking distance as the backyard of the cabin is part of DeSoto State Park. Renew, refresh, and be restored!brbr**THE RETREAT PROPERTY** brbrNot long after you turn onto the private road that winds through the retreat property, you will pass Coyote Cabin on your left (also listed). Soon after, you will see The Otter Box Cabin, also on the left, along with your own private parking area (2 cars max).brbrBeside your parking area at The Otter Box Cabin, there are stairs leading up to the cabin's entrance from the parking area as well as a no-stairs option with a wide ramp that leads to the front porch. You will appreciate the beautiful treehouse views from the covered porch area. This is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or hot tea in the morning and take in the views :) brbrStepping inside the cabin, you will know your peaceful retreat has begun as you are surrounded by windows that reveal refreshing views through a canopy of trees. Be sure to look up and notice the beautiful wood ceiling that was built by the homeowners and upcycled from hurricane-weathered wood planks on Alabama's own coast in Baldwin County. brbrMoving into the main living area, you will appreciate the sight of a large comfortable sofa and loveseat. There is plenty of room for your family to enjoy this space and additional floorspace consideration for our guests who require a wheelchair. The sofa folds out to a queen bed when there are 6 guests. There is a gas log fireplace for your enjoyment, and for movie nights in, there is a 55 HD smart television in the living room with fast Wi-Fi for streaming your own favorite channel subscriptions. A DVD player is also available if you'd like to bring your favorite DVDs. brbrDirectly next to the living room area is the dining area and kitchen. There is a smaller dining table to allow for wider floor space consideration, and there are 4 chairs, with additional chairs on the front porch. In the kitchen, there is a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender, cooking pots, can opener, pans and utensils, dishes, drinking glasses, eating utensils, cooking spices, coffee mugs, and more. brbrBoth of the bedrooms have 32-inch doorways, wider floor space and beautiful window views into the wooded backyard. Each bedroom has a closet with a dresser inside to accommodate more floor space in the bedroom. In each bedroom, there is a queen bed and with comfortable bedding for your rest and relaxation.brbrA full bathroom, also with a 32-inch doorway, includes a full tub/shower combo with a hand-held shower option. brbrDirectly across the hall from the bathroom, there is a full laundry room with a washer and dryer available for your convenience, as well as a fold-out ironing board with iron. You will also find extra quilts, a portable fan and a sofa-bedding kit. brbrBack outside and near the cabin, you will notice a river rock fire pit designed with your retreat in mind. You are welcomed to use any small pieces of fallen wood that can safely fit inside the fire pit, and firewood bundles are sold at nearby stores. Please only burn firewood, as the homeowners and guests roast food over this fire pit.
