This modern yet traditional log home has all you need to feel just right in the Northwoods. It is located on Nelson Lake, about five miles from downtown Hayward, and well situated for you to enjoy all the area has to offer. The location is ideal, being close to shopping, as well as close to hiking, skiing and biking trails, as well as snowmobiling and ATV trails. brbrLayout:brThis 3 level home has all you need for a comfortable get away. Each floor has a view of the lake. The spacious main floor has two bedrooms, one full bath, and an open concept kitchen, dining room, living room. There is also a laundry room on this floor. Off the main floor is a screen porch, and access to a large deck. The loft has the master suite and a full bathroom. Outside the master suite is an open office area, play/craft area, and a futon.brThe lower level has a bedroom, full bathroom and family room.brThe outside area provides lake access with a small beach area. There is a large 50 foot dock that is shared with another party. You have use of the dock with room for two boats. Two single kayaks and one double kayak is available for your use. You can fish off the dock or fish the 2500 acres of Nelson Lake. There is a large fire pit with fire wood available for your use that is near the lakeshore and is a great gathering spot for day time or evening get togethers. It is a wonderful spot for star gazing or making s'mores.brWe have a small sandy beach area next to our dock on our property. This is great for younger kids. There is a gradual slope to about 5-6 feet of water. Another option for swimming is to go out to a public beach area about 1/2 mile from our dock. This beach has a large sandy area with a gradual slope. It is ideal for family swimming. You can easily park your boat or pontoon on the sandy beach.brbrThe property shares a driveway and parking area with another party. The parking area provides space for you for at least three vehicles and a trailer, with additional space available on an adjacent lot. brThe property managers are next door and are normally available for any questions or concerns.brbrNOTE: We only rent full weeks, Friday to Friday during June, July and August. Teal is known for its' excellent fishing. It's also considered a Quite Lake because it has a 10 MPH speed limit for motorized boats. This means you won't be seeing and hearing Jet skis and ski boats rush by all day long while sitting lakeside or out fishing. If you like to explore for people kayaking, canoeing, and boating the six islands on Teal Lake are owned by the DNR and open to the public for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and exploring; two have picnic areas and grills so you can even do a shore lunch: one island can be camped on overnight. The Teal River is just down our shoreline, and that is also available for fishing, boating, and great for kayaking and canoeing. The depth of the water at the shoreline is a couple of inches and sandy and clear (great for kiddos and dogs), and just sand in that area if in a drought. Pretty much every worm you fish with from the dock will catch you a small panfish, if not bigger (have caught several muskies off the dock, a largemouth bass, and tons of perch, bluegill, crappies, and sunfish)brbrNew in 2022 the owner has purchased two new Kayaks to explore the lake with. The Kayaks are free to use with the rental. Some adult-size lifejackets are available. Be sure to bring any youth-size jackets you might need to guarantee fit. Lifejackets are required to use the owner's kayaks. Paddles are also provided.brbrbrThe cabin is in the heart of the Chequamegon National Forest that features some great and well-marked hiking trails. With an awesome 286 feet of sugar sand frontage on (big) Round Lake, a 60 foot dock (great for fishing!) and a sauna, this cabin will get you out on the water in the summer and on the trails and other outdoor activities throughout the year.brbrPlease note that this cabin is on Big Round Lake, not Little Round Lake. Unfortunately, Vrbo has been unable to correct this for me on the map. Please see the aerial drone photos. This cabin is on an ideal section of the lake -- on the west side of Squaw Bay, which protects it from wind and waves and gives an ideal swimming and fishing experience. You can easily exit the bay and use the whole lake, and you can go through the connector to Little Round Lake as well.brbrThis cabin is meant to bring people together. There are 6 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in this 3,100 sq. ft. cabin built out of massive Douglas Fir logs. Per Sawyer County regulations, the occupancy is 14 people maximum.brbrThere is a ping pong table and plenty of places to play cards and read books. We highly recommend going from the sauna to the lake, and back again.
