Really fun stay! It was like staying at a private park with the property grounds being so large. Everything was well stocked for cooking and making fires. The extra treats in the fridge were a bonus. The host was great and quickly helped us get back in the barn after we accidentally locked ourselves out haha. Five out of five experience!

We loved our stay here! The kitchen was well stocked with spices and some surprises (chocolate cake, cheese & crackers, farm fresh eggs, and wine!). We had the fireplace on for one night which was super cozy. We loved the upstairs bedroom and how there was a step stool to get up on the tall bed. Loved the bath robes. We played chess one morning during breakfast. Communication with Leslie and Don have been terrific!

This was my second time staying at the barn house. I really loved how cosy it was, the fireplace is really nice and there is enough wood in the house to enjoy a cosy evening next to the fireplace. The bed is very comfy as well. Leslie the host is also very responsive and very helpful. Would recommend this place 10/10.

Leslie responded very quickly to accept my request just a day before my arrival. I didn't need romance, but a place of peace, quiet, serenity, and rest, and The Red Barn had it all. So many details in the accommodations, from the bottle of wine, coffee bar, and delicious fresh food, to cozy blankets, fabulous bed, and beautful grounds to wander about. It was perfect for what my soul needed.

This is a lovely exclusive property with lots of privacy. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need! The coffee service alone is “Starbucks” quality. There was enough food to take care of our breakfast needs for our entire stay. The beds and linens, bathroom, and other amenities were also excellent. A wonderful property!!

I read all the reviews before I booked, and all I can say is that it STILL exceeded my expectations. Just lovely hosts! The place is fabulous, kitchen fully stocked with thoughtful extras, I could have left half of what I brought at home. The home was sweetly decorated for Christmas, which I wasn't expecting, but probably should have, judging by the thoughtfulness of the hosts. I had a great stay - next time I'll come when the weather is nicer!

Beautiful grounds, relaxing space. This barn house is the ideal place to unwind and practice “the art of doing nothing.” A longtime friend and I spent 2 nights here, mostly just catching up, as old friends do, listening to music, watching movies, and eating good food! Speaking of which, the owners (who are an absolute delight) left all kinds of snacks: English muffins, eggs, apples and caramel sauce, cheese and crackers, condiments, a delicious homemade cake, juice, waters and soft drinks, popcorn. The kitchen and bathroom were supplied with everything you could possibly need. I honestly think you could show up with just your clothes and you would find anything else you might need in this incredibly stocked and SPOTLESS rental. (As I’m writing this, my husband is enjoying his 2nd piece of the cake I brought home with a cup of tea.)If there are any negatives it would be: If you need to get up early, set your clock because there aren’t very many windows for natural light, plus you’ll sleep deeply in either of the very comfortable beds. Also, the shower is small. I’m short so it wasn’t a problem for me, and honestly the rainshower head makes up for it. So, those aren’t really negatives, just information.I have been staying in vacation rentals for decades, and I believe this is the best all-around space I’ve rented. The wood stove was cozy, furniture comfortable, and the entire space was beautifully decorated. Would I stay here again? In a heartbeat!

Perfect little getaway for my partner and I. Hosts thought of everything - they were sweet, responsive, and very generous with their provisions! The bunt cake that was left for us was delicious Plenty of wood available for the wood stove, so don’t worry about bringing your own. Same goes for coffee - multiple brewing methods and bean options available. The barnhouse is located on the owners property and connected to their workshop, but they were incredibly respectful of our privacy. Never saw or heard them once during our 4 night stay. The property was well-maintained and fun to explore - lots of plants and mushrooms to look at, and a very cute Chronicles-of-Narnia-esque lamp and bench. Inside the barn there is not much natural light but plenty of lamps to compensate. Overall super cozy and a wonderful place to stay!

Leslie and Don were fabulous hosts. The barn apartment is spacious and comfortable, and is appointed with high quality furnishings and decor. Leslie provided so many special treats and touches we get like we were really being pampered. Normally we eat out when traveling, but the barn was so homey and the kitchen was well stocked with all the cookware, utensils, supplies, and seasonings needed to cook a full meal, and so we visited the QFC in Port Hadlock-Irondale for ingredients and cooked a delicious meal at home. There was a huge windstorm our first evening there, with trees downed everywhere, but the barn was quite cozy throughout. The power went out about 9 pm due to the storm, and Don and Leslie came right down with a some battery powered lanterns for us. They offered to start the generator, but as it was fairly late we declined, and turned in for the evening. The power was restored during the night. A couple of things to be aware of: since the apartment is actually part of a barn there aren't very many windows. This wasn't a problem for the couple of nights we were there (and did actually add to the coziness during the windstorm), but we did miss being able to sit and look out a window at the lovely surroundings. Also, while there are plenty of lovely trails and beaches nearby for walking, you need to drive to them -- there are no walking opportunities right out the front door. Even with those minor points, this is one of the most lovely, comfortable, and homey va
