It was originally the owners house of the Fox Motel built in 1950s by our Grandparents that we have redone and converted to a nightly rental. An amazing location with less than a 1/4 mile walk to downtown Gatlinburg shops and restaurants with a Trolley stop in front of the building. Watch the Gatlinburg parades for Christmas and July 4th from the patio at the front of our plaza! The building was designed by Hubert Bebb (a student of Frank Lloyd Wright) and is one of the few remaining vintage motels in Gatlinburg. It has been remodeled for your comfort while keeping as much original as possible to give you the experience of 'Olde Gatlinburg Charm'. Decorated with a vintage/boho/eclectic theme, local arts and crafts, and rustic touches make this a unique rental. This cabin is full of one of a kind, handcrafted details. Custom made cabinets, tables, furniture, and fixtures throughout. Most items were made by the owners and/or members of their family using repurposed materials when possible. Two master suites upstairs, both with private baths featuring handcrafted mosaic tiled showers keeping with a Van Gogh inspired theme. One suite is Starry Starry Night and the other is Van Gogh’s Sunflower Fields. Kitchen, living area, and half bath are on main level. All new stainless appliances and granite countertops in kitchen. Handmade (seating for 8) solid wood dining table. Large pantry with numerous small appliances such as toaster, blender, mixer, etc. Living area has gas log fireplace with artisan tin surround. Mantle is handcrafted and hearth is made from repurposed slate shingles from an old church. Basement/Recreation area is more like an efficiency apartment. It has an open living/sleeping area with a queen size bed as well as a sleeper sofa, kitchenette area with a small fridge, microwave. There is also a full bath with tub/shower combo, washer and dryer. This area leads to the lower porch with gas grill and hot tub area. Each of the three levels opens onto it's own covered porch/deck with an amazing view of Mount LeConte. Cabin even has a small fenced puppy yard. This only provides an area for pets when supervised. It’s basically a rule of thumb for all mountain roads in this area, that if ice or snow conditions are present, you should have 4-wheel drive or snow chains.brbr19. Is this cabin secluded –This cabin is perched at the top of a hill overlooking the mountains. However you can see other cabins from the decks & there are direct neighbors on both sides.brbr20. Was this area affected by the 2016 wildfires – Yes. You may see evidence of trees and properties that were affected by the fires and possibly hear construction noise from other cabins being built.
