Located only 20 minutes from the West entrance to Yellowstone Park, this is a great spot to be the base of all your fun. Recently built with the basics for your trip. The kitchen, living room, and bedroom are upstairs. The full bathroom and washer/dryer are downstairs on the main floor. WiFi with a smart TV mean you can stream your favorite movie/TV shows when not out exploring all the amazing scenery!brbrThe bedroom features one queen and one twin bed with plentiful closet space. Off to the side of the living room space there's a single bed.brbrThe kitchenette space is equipped with most all the cooking utensils and supplies you'll need. The living area has a couple comfy couches and a smart TV. Downstairs is a washer and dryer set to make you feel right at home, along with the bathroom. There's a private entrance so you can feel comfortable and secure. brbrThe cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood with short driving distance to the West entrance to Yellowstone National Park (20 minutes). brbrWiFi, towels, sheets, toilet paper, paper towels, are included. Driveway with parking space for one or two vehicles. If you need to park extra vehicles or trailers, there's a large parking space just off highway 20 when you pull that's got all the space you'll need. (RV's and camper trailers not allowed on property)brbrOne or two dogs are welcome. We charge a $30/day pet fee. And we require that they never get on the furniture or beds. Even good dogs can get anxious when left alone in a new place and that is when they damage things. So your dog must be in a crate if you leave him behind in the cabin. (We do not provide the crate.) To keep the cabin beautiful, you are responsible to pay for any damage caused by your dog.brbrYou'll have access to the loft including the washer/dryer, everything upstairs, the fire pit out back, and the parking space out front! Usually, there is some wood to burn near the fire pit. If not, you're responsible for getting fire wood at Robins Roost just a couple minutes away.brbrI won't be present during your stay but am available for any questions or concerns. There 700+ miles of trails that one can ride motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles etc on. We have ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles available for rent if you're looking for a different way to explore the area other than in a car.brbrFrom mid-December to March you can depend on snow in Island Park. The roads are plowed well, but it would be a good idea to bring a vehicle that works well in the snow. A truck with clearance, 4WD or AWD is best.brbrTAKE AN ADVENTURE ON THE 700+ MILES OF TRAILS FOR SNOWMOBILES, ATVS, AND UTVS RIGHT OUT YOUR BACK DOOR! Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead.
