The home is nestled into an amazing tropical property, in a quiet neighborhood, all within a short few minutes’ walk to the Pacific Ocean where often sea turtles and dolphins are spotted. Beautiful homes throughout the neighborhood. brbrThis is a two story home! The main floor on the second level, features a comfortable living/dining area facing East toward the ocean, great for catching the trade wind breezes and morning sunlight. It opens to a large lanai where you can enjoy the tropical sights and sounds. The kitchen features a custom wood island with bar seating, quartz counter tops and stainless-steel appliances. On this upper level you will find 2 bedrooms, plus a full sized bathroom. The upstairs bedrooms are artful and have lush, tree-top views one with a king size bed and one with a queen size bed. Gorgeous bathroom on the hallway has a copper sink, ebony tile and an open glass shower.brbrAdditionally, downstairs brthere is another family room with kitchenette, dining area and an indoor laundry. brThe bedrooms downstairs have a queen size bed, ensuite bathroom and separate outside entry door. brbrThe top and bottom floors can easily be separate living areas that would work great for a vacation with two families!brbrTake the short walk to Kehena Black Sand beach then hike down the footpath for a unique clothing optional beach treat. Visit Uncle Robert's Night Market a short drive away in Kaimu and enjoy live music, great dancing and local Hawaiian food on Wednesdays. On Saturday mornings there is a local market! brbrOn Sundays at the beach enjoy the rare opportunity to join in on a drum circle come evening the drum circle moves to the nearby park where you will often see fire dancing.brbrThe homes private yard will amaze you with tropical trees and flowers. A huge avocado tree, coconut trees, and fresh delicious limes are for you to enjoy. Our small neighborhood is perfect for strolling on quiet streets, enjoying bird songs and finding exotic tropical plants. Whether you enjoy Hiking, Volcano exploring, Water Falls, Snorkeling, Kayaking, or what ever you enjoy, this Hale is the perfect place to come home to relax, BBQ, and unwind from a day of exploring everything the Big Island has to offer. We offer a full kitchen, BBQ, Washer Dryer, 1 King bedroom, 1 Queen bedroom, 1 Full Bathroom with a Half Bath in the Laundry Room in the Carport. Also, mini split AC have been install in every room to keep the whole house nice and cool. We have installed an outdoor shower for your enjoyment. The property sits on a 1/4 acre of tropical plants, palms, avocados, and bananas. The house sits back from the street. It is only 7 blocks from the ocean approx. 1/4 mile. Explore the town of Pahoa with very good restaurants, a Farmer's market every Sunday, Malama Grocery Store, and Gas Station only 6 miles away. We have a minimum night stay of 3 nights, maximum stay of 14 days. brbrOur area is very Scenic, Tropical, Old Traditional Hawaii. Do not expect Waikiki or even Kailua-Kona. It`s generally a private neighborhood though, and there`s a private driveway to come in. br* There are a few long term, considerate caretakers that live on site. Also the cleaning staff is usually on site from 10am-2pm in case you need anything. Everyone is friendly and considerate, but they will leave you alone unless you ask for something. br* We are off-grid, please be conservative with power, especially at night when we run on batteries. Don`t leave lights on all night. br* You might see an occasional mosquito, blister beetle, or gecko, this is the tropics..brWe do have two fans in the Phoenix House, but there is no A/C. Yes you can run the fan at night while you`re sleeping.br* Yes, we have ample power and good wifi.brbrA car is necessary. You don`t need a 4wd to stay here, but the clearance to the road is kinda low so drive carefully. We do offer car rental sometimes. : )brbrThe weather is generally always warm, sunny and nice, about 90% of the time. : ) It rains frequently, but usually for short periods of time.brbrConsiderate Caretaker is available and on-site. (Sorry but we have learned things the hard way that we need to say these things).brbrRegarding Laundry:br- If you need to do laundry, the washer & dryer are located at the back of the Main House nearby (two story house with green porch, behind the red Lava Temple). However, please only do laundry from 8-10am; or 2-6pm as we are off-grid and also the cleaners need it from 10-2pm. Yes you can use our detergent. You will be surrounded by different coffee varieties. It is our vision to produce quality coffee like Kona and Kau. Harvest coffee with us if it’s in season. We have the endemic Mamaki Tea which can be found only here in Hawaii, look for the red vein leaves on the left side of the fence. To use mamaki tea, boil the leaves to extract the red antioxidant then leave overnight.
