It is very hard to find an original house, especially with approximately an acre lawn and BEACHFRONT. They are nearly obsolete. Your walk to the Beach is just across the manicured lawn. (approx.100') Our home has been upgraded, but all of the Hawaiian charm still remains. With so much building going on in Maui, it is hard to find a safe property that has stayed close to original. Families and children love the SAFE property, the games we offer, Croquet, bag toss, beach toys, Boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels and lounges. brbrThis home has individually controlled air conditioning, in each room. There are also ceiling fans in each room. The kitchen is fully stocked with almost everything you should need. If you are feeling you are lacking something in the kitchen, please let us know!brbrA large Lanai is a wonderful way to spend the day. Ocean views, (seasonal Whale Watching, November-March, and Large green sea turtles love to sleep on our beach. Nightly(almost) viewing is a wonderful surprise for all to see. Please, do not shine flashlights on the turtles, or touch them. Please stay 10 feet away from the turtles. They may not return is they feel threaten. If they are inter family dining or a great BBQ. Gas BBQ is included.brbrOur uncrowded beach is located approximately 100' from the house. A short walk across the very spacious and impeccably maintained lawn area, and your toes are in the sand! There are approximately 36 palms trees located on the property. There is also a huge 120+ year old Banyan tree! Be sure to bring your camera! The lawn area is great for sunbathing, sitting on the lawn in the chaise lounges shaded by the many trees, or playing family games. We provide beach sand chairs, beach towels and miscellaneous children's beach toys, including boogie boards, sand chairs and lounges. There is a large BBQ (propane) for your use.brbr There is a Queen bed in the main bedroom, 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds which can be made into a king bed, if you prefer. Please just let us know prior to your arrival so we can have it ready for your arrival. There is also a very comfortable queen sized Murphy bed in the great room, which can sleep 2 more guests.brbr Our beach gets very little usage, as we are located in a residential area, no big hotels and condo complexes to share with. A large portion of the lawn area is maintained by our gardeners and some of it is State land and can be shared by others.brbrThis 2 bedroom 2 bath home is adjacent to our 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, which is also on our property. The area is also used for surfing, windsurfing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing and canoeing. The mornings are usually the best time for a calm ocean and small waves. The trade winds do usually pick up in the afternoon, and cools the air. We do recommend wearing beach shoes for easy walking and swimming. Depending on the winds, many things can wash ashore. The sand can also be very hot.brbrThe home is facing to the West, which means you will see some of the most beautiful sunsets on the Island. Depending on the time of the year (usually, between November and March) whales can usually be seen and heard beyond the reef. This is a wonderful experience for the children and adults alike! Please do not touch the turtle while they are asleep on the beach. Mary and I found we really enjoy Maui, and decided to purchase this condo in Kihei in March of 2017. Our condo was recently remodeled - new floors, cabinets and granite countertops. The bathroom was done as well, with a nice walk-in shower. brbrKihei Bay Vista is a wonderful property. It is located in Kihei, Maui, just steps from the ocean. It has a pool and hot tub, gas grills for your use as well as an outdoor dining area. This property is one of the great finds for the price in Kihei. There are only 60 units and 2 stories, and all are 1 bedroom so the property has a relaxed and quiet atmosphere. We have many repeat guests. Kihei Bay Vista is just across the street from the Whale Sanctuary and a very long stretch of beach. Windsurf, Whale watch, walk the beach and enjoy unbelievable sunsets. There is an archeologically important fish pond adjoining the beach, that is essentially a protected area that is perfect for kids (and big turtles!) Kihei Bay Vista is centrally located to shops, restaurants, activities and is a short drive to the championship golf courses of Wailea and Makena.brbrOur complex took advantage of the downtime during the covid event and repainted the exterior and installed a new roof on our building.brbrOur condo, D-209 is a spacious 1 BR 1 Bath condo that has a fully equipped kitchen, front loading washer & dryer, 2 cable flat screen TVs, 2 DVD players, free wireless internet and comfortable, updated furnishings. Our condominium has 2 air conditioners (air conditioning in the living room, and a new, smaller air conditioner in the bedroom) and ceiling fans. Enjoy the private covered lanai. An assortment of beach gear are yours to use during your stay. Kalepolepo Beach is right across the street and it is a short walk to Sugar Beach, one of the longest continuous stretch's of beach on Maui.brbr*Update - Our complex pool and hot tub will be closed from June 3 thru June 21. This is for pool and deck re surfacing. We recently lowered our prices to account for this issue. On another note, the beach is right across the street! Also, there is a very nice county pool, available free of charge, a short distance from our condo.

I am certain that you have reviewed the listings of other units here at the Maui Banyan. Therefore, I am not going to be repetitious and tout all of the wonderful amenities that the Banyan has to offer which are common to the entire complex. brbrInstead, I want to provide information that I feel is relevant about MY unit, and why I feel that it is probably one of the finest units in the entire complex.brbrG-305, my unit, is a one bedroom and TWO BATH. Those familiar with the Maui Banyan know that the 'G' building is the most desirable as it is the closest to the beach without being on top of Kihei Rd. and the subsequent street noise. Some people who have 2 bedroom, 2 bath units do rent out a one bedroom part of their condo; however, when they split their unit and rent it out as a one bedroom you LOSE the second bath! I don't know about you; however, my wife loves it when she can have the master bath all to herself. For those of you who have children, it is a luxury to be able to enjoy the convenience and privacy of your own bathroom. Now, why my one bedroom two bathroom is so unique. Within the past year I have spent over $100,000 upgrading my unit. The final enhancement was the expansion of the lanai. brbr Unfortunately, the original size of the lanais of ALL the other one bedroom units at the Banyans were vastly undersized! So much so, that it was virtually impossible to have meals outside, as the width of the lanai was a mere 3 feet. The lanai's total function was to provide only standing room enjoyment. With my current lanai EXPANSION, 4 can now comfortably sit around a 36' diameter table, have a candlelight dinner while watching the sun set over your ocean view. NOW THAT IS SIGNIFICANT if you want to truly experience the utmost in ambiance.brbr The second improvement is the elimination of a common wall that separated the living room from the bedroom area. Instead of this wall, four beautiful Japanese sliding Shoji screens now provide privacy between these two areas. HOWEVER, when desired they all slide on their own individual tracks to make any combination of closures. Therefore, you now can make one big open area that joins the bedroom to the living room, and eliminate that boxy feel that was the original configuration, but still have all the privacy in your bedroom area as before. I am the original owner, and I wanted my 'home away from home' to be as comfortable as my home in Los Angeles. Therefore, there is not one piece of furniture that was originally provided by the builder that is still in my unit! brbr Unfortunately, this attitude is not shared by most of the other units that are available for rent. I am not trying to downgrade other units, however, there are differences, and the following list will inform you as to the amenities that are provided by my unit that were NOT the standard issue when these units were originally sold. brbr1. LOCATED IN THE G BUILDING (shortest walk to beach ...30 seconds, without being on top of Kihei Rd and its subsequent noise.br br2. Located on the south side of the building giving a VIEW of the pool area, as well as a lovely OCEAN VIEW.brbr3. ALL NEW KITCHEN...including granite counters, new sink and fixtures, all new raised panel cabinetry, all new appliances, under cabinet dimable and recessed ceiling lighting.brbr4. ALL NEW FURNITURE, including an entertainment center that houses a Panasonic 42' plasma TV and DVD player. The new queen sofa bed has an upgraded $400 mattress that eliminates that annoying feel of the center bar. Just ask my 24 yr old 6'4', 215 lb. son how comfortable it is, as that is the bed he uses when he visits.brbr5. ALL NEW DINING ROOM FURNITURE, and a tropical ceiling fan in this area if you do not wish to use the air conditioner.br br6. A desk for you to use if you brought with you some work from home, and a wonderful spot to set up your laptop, and enjoy the provided FREE WiFi connection.brbr7. Elimination in the bedroom of the original double bed which was replaced with a Simmons top of the line KING SIZE box spring and mattress.br br8. Addition of a 26 ' CEILING MOUNTED TV IN THE BEDROOM for night time enjoyment as well as to give others the chance to view a different program from that of the plasma TV in the living room.brbr9. GRANITE COUNTER TOPS, new sinks and fixtures, and new raised panel cabinetry in both baths.brbr10. Addition of a SECOND AIR CONDITIONER AND CEILING FAN for the bedroom area.brbr11. EXPANSION OF THE LANAI off of the bedroom that has a 36' round table, seating for 4, as well as a reclining chaise lounge chair.brbr12. Extensive wall art and table pieces that make my unit feel as if you are in a beautiful island home, and NOT a boring stock hotel unit.brbrAll of the above is true, and I can back it up by sending you a wonderful 3 minute e-mail attachment of a slide show that I made that will give you a complete idea of what I have accomplished to make your vacation as enjoyable as possible. People who have stayed in other units at the Banyan, and then have stayed in mine, repeatedly comment on the difference. That is why I rent my unit at a higher rental rate than some of the others. PLEASE READ PRIOR TO BOOKING: If you have more than 10 guests the cottage will need to be booked as Maui's rental permit law requires 2 guests per room. That includes children over the age of 2 years old. Children under the age of 2 can stay with their parents in the same room and not count toward the occupancy rate. As the main house only has 5 rooms, it can only sleep 10 guests. To rent the cottage adds an extra $250 per night and has a $200 cleaning fee. This traditional Hawaiian home features a 5 bedrooms / 3 bath main house and a separate studio cottage with its own bathroom and kitchen (making for a 6 bed / 4 bath combination if desired). Both the home and cottage have large lanai areas for lounging, BBQing, and relaxing during the warm and tropical evenings. Enjoy the beautiful tropical climate outside, and still remain comfortable inside with air conditioning throughout the home and cottage. brbrThis main house is perfect for families that want to have enough bedrooms and space to enjoy their time together. The street is safe, has hardly any traffic, and is right across the street from a beautiful beach. Two blocks to the west you'll enjoy a large park with tennis courts, baseball & soccer fields, outdoor roller rink, running tracks along the ocean, and more beautiful beaches. Downtown Kihei is also within walking distance. There you will enjoy shopping, dining, and all the local flare this beach town has to offer. brbrHere are just some of the attractions, restaurants, and everyday living features you will have access to when you stay at HOALOHA HALE.brbrGOLFbrIf you've come to maui to enjoy Golf, you've come to the right part of the island. Just a mile from the house is the Maui Nui Golf Club and less the 5 miles from the house are the Wailea Gold Course, Emerald Golf Course, and Wailea Blue Golf Course (each of which are fantastic and have amazing views of the ocean and surrounding countryside). I personally like golfing on the Kihei/Wailea side of the island, becuase the wind in far less severe than the Kaanapali/Kapalua side of the island. brbrRESTAURANTSbrLess than a five minute walk from the house is Pizza Madness Maui, which offers a 4+ star pizza and sandwiches. Other food options that are less than a mile away are Coconut's Fish Cafe, Nalu's South Shore Grill, Fabiani's Bakery, Eskimo Candy, Outback Steak House, Ekolu Kitchen, Starbucks, Paia Fish Market S. Side, Kihei Cafe, South Maui Fish Co., Outrigger Pizza, Maui Brewing Company, etc., (AND THAT'S WITHIN THE FIRST MILE). Within a five-six mile radius you get into other amazing places, like the fabulous Restaurant at the Hotel Wailea (one of the best high-end restaurants on the island!!), Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman's, The Five Palms, Sorento's on the Beach, Ka Ana Kitchen, the list goes on and on. Bottom line, you will not go hungry staying at our house and there is a lot to choose from (both familiar and with local flare).brbrACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS brThe house is near a ton of great tours and attractions. Some of the best snorkeling companies run right in Kihei, less than 5-10 minutes from the house. For bigger boating experiences (i.e. dinner/sunset cruises, fishing charters, Molokini Excursions, etc.) the Maalaea Harbor is only 8 miles from the house. Maui Dive shop is a five minute walk. Canoe, Kayak, surfboard rentals less than mile from the house. Kalama State park which has soccer fields, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, and running paths along the beach is only a few blocks from the house. Day trips to other parts of the island are also super easy and convenient as the house is only a few miles from the major thoroughfares that will take you to Hana, Paia, Makawao and other communities that are all unique and fun to visit. brbrSHOPPINGbrCheck out all the great shops in the Kalama Village and Kihei Town center less than mile away. Also drive down to the great shops in downtown Wailea about 5 minutes away. brbrBEACHESbrSome of the best beaches on the island, from Halama beach right across the street from the house, to all the Kamaole beaches that line S. Kihei Rd. Drive a short 5 miles toward Wailea and experience some of the great beaches that the large resorts have to offer (all are open to the public). Drive a little further (approximately 9 miles) and you'll reach Makena State Park with the beautiful Makena Beach, Makena Cove, and Little beach (clothing optional). brbrSo much to enjoy, you'll never have a dull time visiting this magical place!!
