You will find that the neighborhood is diverse with many interesting people of various backgrounds, and that they care about their community. There are several active and welcoming churches in the Lincolnville Historic District, one of which can be seen from the front of the cottage, so close that you can clearly hear the choir on Sunday from the porch. There are four (4) restaurants in the Lincolnville Historic District- The Blue Hen; the Ice Plant Bar; The Preserved; and Crave Food Truck. Lincolnville was a victim of redlining by the Federal Government and the private sector, the evidence of which still exists to this day. I encourage anyone who is not familiar with the practice of redlining to probe the subject. Bear in mind that St. Augustine is over 450 years old, and every neighborhood in Downtown St. Augustine has buildings that are in disrepair and could use a bit of work, including Lincolnville. If you don't wish see buildings that are architecturally contributing while perhaps in need of a little or a lot of work, then Lincolnville, or other neighborhoods Downtown, may not be the correct fit for you. Lincolnville in particular is experiencing a period of revitalization, so don't allow the derelict architecturally contributing buildings deter you from the rich history that the neighborhood and Downtown have to offer.brbrI live close to my rental property, and am available 24/7 to respond to any issues or concerns.brbrAs your host, you can expect that I will NOT come onto the property unannounced.
