Welcome to the Painted Pony Bungalow. Take a step back in time in this century old bungalow secluded from the street by a giant oak tree. With two bedrooms and one bath, it accommodates three long term guests in comfort. The master bedroom with the queen bed, has a newly installed air conditioner (window style) that states it cools up to 400 plus sq. feet. The dining table is set for four people but can easily expand to serve six guests. Dog friendly, please inquire. brbrOur bungalow is located on a quiet, three block long street in the Bungalow Haven neighborhood that includes a large number of intact Craftsman-era bungalows in a four block square area. It's only six blocks from State Street, close enough for an easy walk and far enough to escape traffic and noise. We are twelve to fourteen blocks from the beach.brbrAt State Street you'll find the Museum of Art and the newly rebuilt Granada Theater. The Santa Barbara County Bowl is three blocks away. The beach is two miles by car or bicycle. It’s only a mile to Santa Barbara Mission and Rose Garden. brbrPainted Pony Bungalow features these amenities:brbrCharming kitchen with original cabinetry, and a 50’s era Wedgewood stove, microwave, bright red corner booth, a microwave, a coffee maker & grinder, with a washer & dryer tucked away in a cabinet. The kitchen has a new kitchen sink with a drinking water filtration fully installed, and generously equipped with pots and pans, utensils and tableware for the inspired cook.brbrA new sliding glass door opens to the backyard garden and deck with a patio table for outdoor dining, complete with a natural gas barbecue, and a nicely tucked away private hot tub/spa that seats six.brbrThe relaxed garden filled backyard is fully enclosed and dog-friendly. The patio table is there for your morning cuppa, and for easy entertaining. There is also power source in case you'd to take your laptop out on the back patio for a change of work space & some fresh air. brbrRegarding access and mobility preferences, as you can see from the photos of the front of the house, there are five steps up the front porch from the front yard walkway. From the backyard there is one step from the back deck through the sliding door to enter via the kitchen. The interior of the bungalow is all on one level. It is not , however, wheelchair friendly. Your off street parking spot is located in a small back lot, with easy access to the front door or back yard.brbrVRBO Pet fees are for each pet by the month. Longer stays can be discussed.brbrHigh-tech goodies include broadband Wi-Fi, 40” HDTV with Cable. The living and dining rooms feature early 20th century cabinetry and trim, oak floors and a gas fireplace. brbrThe master bedroom has a queen bed with a new window mounted air conditioner, the front bedroom has a full size bed. Both beds have memory foam toppers, and are extremely comfortable. Both bedrooms have shades and /or curtains for a good nights sleep. Fresh cotton bed linens and towels are provided. We're also 30 minutes from the wine country... Santa Ynez, Los Olivos and Solvang. The land is unique because it feels like you're very remote and off the grid out in nature (which you are) but then it's just minutes to get anywhere in Santa Barbara. The layout is very open and light with modern living room/kitchen, mountain views and a wood back deck with a wonderful claw footed bath tub. Soulful and homey with epic views of the mountains. brbrThe open door ways expand out to the land which becomes an extension of the living space. The birds that land on the outside fountain are amazing.. birds of every kind.. sparrows, humming birds, blue scrub jays.. there's the sound of red tail hawks, crows, laying chickens (fresh eggs for you!) and neighboring horses. The sun is supreme here, the air quality medicinal and the weather has a habit of being a perfectly kind 73 degrees and sunny. Hang out by day or by moon with the countless places to dwell. brbrThere is a true home feeling here... soulful with wood floors, a two headed hand tiled shower, organic California king mattress, claw foot bath tub off the back deck outside, a chef's kitchen and other good things you'd want in a dwelling, not to mention an UPRIGHT ACOUSTIC PIANO in the bedroom! brbrWireless internet yes. Cell phones usually work great though you might need to find the sweet spots. brbrOTHER OFFERINGS: brI have chickens who are fed very well laying all organic epic EGGS! When they are laying you may occasionally be graced by the best eggs you can get anywhere. brbrp..s.s. as this is a nature connection offering, to understand the full range of the ecosystem. Birds cannot exist without insects, growing things cannot exist without Earth. As I long for you to get exactly what you need, please be sure you are one who can welcome nature as a whole understanding this before you book. While we do everything in our power to remove daddy long legs and certainly the space is CLEAN, still the occasional spider or moth can enter the spaces especially with doors open (i DO recommend doors open!). And to understand it is benign and safe here to do so. IF you prefer a sterile hotel room, do go that route. Nature connection is not for everyone and I want you happy wherever you land!
