Stayed Jan 25, 2026Greatest thing about the place was the location - just about perfect for us - close to the Mesa Lane Steps and the Douglas Family Preserve. Also very easy to drive to those places away from the general neighborhood when we wanted to.Never met the host, which was a management company of some sort, but never really needed to. Did not meet owners of the house to which the VRBO property was attached, but never really needed. Although there were six different ways to make coffee (always a big plus), the kitchen was underequipped for any substantive food preparation. It likely would have been fine for a shorter stay, say a long weekend, but for us at two weeks it was bit of a problem.

Stayed Sep 20, 2025We enjoyed the patios, the landscaping around the house. It was close to everything with a car. The washer and dryer is shared with owner but was absolutely not a problem. Watch the step on the way around the garage to the front door. Very enjoyable week.

Stayed Apr 20, 2025We adored this place for our three night stay. It was conveniently located and suited our needs, plus it was charming! The four star for cleanliness was only for the washer, which had a lot of dog hair in it. We enjoyed our time and would, without a doubt, sentry here again!

Stayed Apr 12, 2025Our cottage in Santa Barbara was simply awesome. It was one block from the Douglas Family Preserve. The management staff was very responsive. The owners were unbelievably kind and helpful. We would be thrilled to stay there again.

Stayed Jul 11, 2024We loved how close we were to SBCC so we could help our daughter move. We loved the Douglas Preserve for nightly walks and the beach access walk. Restaurants, stores, and everything we needed was conveniently located. The property was beautiful, clean, and peaceful.

Stayed May 26, 2024Mesa Bliss is surrounded by a tapestry of lush, beautiful landscaping that makes you feel like you are walking into your very own secluded paradise. The neighborhood is safe, lovely and so quiet that we slept with the windows open every night. The house (our vacay home) was well appointed with as gas stove/oven (loved this), a comfy couch, table/chairs, fridge/freezer and lots of cabinets filled with all of the kitchen essentials. The bed and pillows were so comfortable - no restless night for us! The bedroom also had a 5-drawer dresser and plenty of room to store our unloaded suitcases. Bathroom/shower were clean. The water pressure awesome and the windows allowed for fresh air to fill the room after a steamy shower. The owner is so kind in sharing access to their washer/dryer. It came in very handy. Everything is labeled so no need to guess what switch goes to what. My husband and I enjoyed many of the wonderful attractions that Santa Barbara has to offer. (I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival was amazing and fun!). This place was so convenient to all of them - from the airport all the way to a drive to Solvang. We also played several rounds of golf in wonderful weather (Sandpiper/along the ocean, Alisal/Slovang, my fav and Glen Annie/hard!). We had never been to Santa Barbara and I'm so glad we decided to check it out, but moreover, I'm so glad we chose Mesa Bliss to be our home away from home. It was perfect. Don't pass up the chance to stay here!
