The Ironwood is a four bedroom, one and a half bath lake house situated on 3.5 acres. Located on Grand Portage lake in Mercer, WI in heavily wooded tall pines, within walking distance of several local establishments. The master bedroom contains a king size bed with twin toddler bed. The second and third bedrooms have queen size beds. The fourth bedroom on the lower level, known as JW's bunk room includes two twin over full bunk beds. All bedrooms are outfitted with a bench, set of hooks and plenty of closet space. There is a Queen size sofa sleeper located on the lower level of the home as well. Enjoy the lake view from the spacious living room with large attached screened porch. brbrThere are bike trails for everyone in the family from the Heart of Vilas paved bike trail system to the WinMan Trails featuring single-track flow trails for mountain and fat tire bikers. Mercer has 7.8 miles of dedicated bike trail with connections to the 52 mile Heart of Vilas trail system. brbrGrand Portage Lake is 148 acres in size with a max depth of 33 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. The lake's water is moderately clear. Our 301 ft. of frontage has a gradual approach and sand bottom. There is a private dock for use as well. The lake is known for fishing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, and water skiing. brbrATV/UTV trail is located at the driveway of the property for direct access to the 100 miles that the Mercer area has to offer with connections to an additional 250 miles of the Iron County trail system. Over 250 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in southern Iron County offer a variety of riding experiences. From former railroad grade, to heavily forested land, to the wide open spaces of marked trails across the Turtle Flambeau Flowage, riders understand why Iron County is the Snow Capital of Wisconsin. Mercer's trails are part of the 500+ miles of the Iron County Trail System. Riders may head north, all the way up into Michigan's Upper Peninsula as well as south, east and west to adjoining counties. We are doggo friendly on an approved basis as well! Small carport that we lovingly call The Tacklebox available to park ATV's and snowmobiles or small boats. Beautiful, exclusive, one-of-a-kind lake cottage, 1000 square feet. Living room/dining area, full modern kitchen, bedroom with king size bed, office includes a closet and washer/drier, 1 full bathroom, screened porch, patio. Hand-crafted cottage in the arts and crafts style, well appointed with antiques, oak paneling, hardwood floors, open paneled ceiling. Rent includes use of dock and swimming area with raft, unlimited use of kayaks, canoe, paddle boards, a 14-foot fishing boat, high speed internet, Direct TV. Shore and lake bottom are sandy with few weeds and no muck. Great view of the lake. Long Lake is a 450 acre lake with beautiful unspoiled shoreline and real wilderness in the north end. Good fishing for walleye, musky, pan fish, northern pike, bass. Waterskiing, swimming or just cruising the 11 miles of shoreline. The cottage was built in 2010 for my very fussy mother, who decorated it in her unique style. Monthly rental in season mid May-September, $90 per day with 30 day minimum. Discount for 2 or more months. Discount for October. We will work out a payment schedule with you for multiple months. Pet fee $100 per month.brbrRegarding our cancellation policy: If you cancel within 90 days of your rental, you will receive a full refund minus 10% if another rental fills your dates.

The cottage is just 30 miles north of Minocqua, 20 miles south of Ironwood, and 25 miles west of Boulder Junction so it is the perfect central location for anything on your list.brbrThe large 18 x 25 main room is finished with knotty pine, maple floors and wall-to-wall windows so you can enjoy the sights and sounds of Echo Lake and of course, those amazing sunsets and loon calls. The cottage style kitchen is fully furnished with all your cooking needs. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and a sink. The second bedroom has a full-size double bunk bed. Both bedrooms have gel memory foam medium firm mattresses for cool sleep and pressure relief. The beds include microfiber lightweight sheets with comforters and blankets. Included are several pillows with variable firmness. Both the mattresses and pillows are encased in protective covers. To protect your boat, the dock has nylon guide guard posts and bumpers. To access our dock, you will need to launch your boat from Sportsman’s Landing (.9 mile down the road) which is the public boat launch landing. Please use the public boat launch as there is no boat launch on our property.br• You can swim off the dock area, it’s not a sandy beach, but you can swim there. The bottom consists of rock and silt. If you walk out to the end of the peninsula, there is a flat and rocky shoreline to swim on as well.br• Whole house propane generator activates automatically within 10 seconds in the event of a power outage.br• Please remove the shams from the pillows before sleeping on them.br• Extra blankets are available on the shelves of the bedroom closets.br• There are ceiling fans located in the Great Room, main bedroom, and guest bedroom.br* You can use the on-site firewood for the two fire pits on the property. One firepit is located in the backyard.
