You'll be just a block from the harbor--the launching point for exploring Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands, plus easy walking distance to all the shops and restaurants Bayfield has to offer. This 3 bed, 2 bath condo has it all: open-plan living & dining with a fully-outfitted kitchen. Add in incredible lake views, gas fireplace, and a wrap-around balcony & you have the perfect home base in Bayfield!brbrYour host runs Bark Point Ventures, a vacation rental management & concierge company that specializes in properties all along Lake Superior's South Shore. We live nearby and are available whenever needed to assist our guests. Our passion is ensuring guests experience the magic of what we feel is one of the most amazing places in the world.brbrThe Ada O'Day condos gets you right into the heart of things in Bayfield. You’re within walking distance of everything in town, so why not spend a winter day exploring all the shops and galleries Bayfield has to offer—plus a stop or two to warm up with great food and drink, naturally. And don’t forget everything there is to see from the balcony: your view out towards Madeline Island is good all winter long, from sea smoke and shifting ice as the channel freezes over, to the return of open water—always a sight for sore eyes—at the end of winter.brbrIf you’re into skiing, Mount Ashwabay (just ten minutes from the condo) is the top destination in the area for both downhill and Nordic. On snowshoes, check out the Ravine Trail (it’s right on the edge of town) or the Jerry Jolly trails, just a few minutes’ drive from the condo. Bayfield is also a great home base for a winter drive through the snowy fields and silent woods of the Bayfield Peninsula brbrMadeline Island is a great place to go in the winter: between the ferry, the wind sled, and the ice road, you can get out there all season long, and it’s just as beautiful with snow and ice as you imagine. brbrAda O'Day Unit #3 is a stunner and the largest of our units at this condo complex. The first thing you'll notice is how light and airy the combined living-dining-kitchen area is, with windows wrapping around three sides. And then you'll glance out the windows and take in the beautiful views of Lake Superior, less than two blocks away. Trust us, we never, ever get tired of enjoying the beauty of our Big Water. Everything about this condo is clean and modern. The living room offers plush seating for the crew: a comfy sofa and two lounge chairs (each with an ottoman to help you really kick your feet up and relax). The focal point of the living area (other than those views!) is the gas fireplace. The kitchen is incredibly well-outfitted for self catering with full-sized appliances (even a dishwasher!). Four folks can pull up a stool to the breakfast bar and the separate dining table also has seating for four.brbrEach of the three bedrooms has a queen-size bed (and fabulous mattresses!). There is a cozy sitting area with two chairs in one of the bedrooms, and then a single comfy chair & ottoman in another bedroom. The primary bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The other two bedrooms share the second bathroom, which features a bathtub (so bring your rubber ducky!). If you need to freshen up your clothing during your stay, you'll also find a clothes washer and dryer in the unit.brbrPerhaps our favorite of the many, many incredible amenities of this unit is the wrap-around balcony (which you can access off the dining/living room). No better place to either start your day with a cup of coffee or end your day with a glass of wine than enjoying the fresh air and view of the water! brbrBayfield is a very walkable city, so your best bet is on foot. brbrOff street parking for one vehicle in the lot. Plenty of street parking available, except during Applefest weekend in October. Less than 15 minute drive to Mt. Ashwabay ski hill, Big Top Chautauqua, hiking trails, beaches, and more.brbrPublic transportation on the peninsula is provided by the Bay Area Rural Transit (BART), more information can be found on their website.brbrAn EV charging station is located in the parking lot on the corner of Washington Ave. and E. 6th St. in Washburn.brbrThe following shuttles and ferries are also accessible on foot from the condo:brbr- The Madeline Island Ferry will take you out to Madeline Island and runs regularly during the late spring, summer, fall, and much of the winter.br- The BART Bus runs regularly through Bayfield and around Chequamegon Bay for a modest fee.br- Big Top Chautauqua runs shuttles for most of their concerts and events.brbr As much as we love dogs, canine guests are NOT allowed at this property. We're happy to help you locate a dog-friendly rental should you require one.
