We loved staying in the Pilot house.! It was perfect for us- we stayed three days, took the ferry to Madeline island for July 4th hometown parade and some pizza, also took the cruise of the apostle islands all convenient to get to because the location of this beautiful house. We had everything we needed and Jack was available for questions at all times for us. Would definitely stay here again!

The Pilot House was a great place to stay! It was exactly as advertized. The room was very clean and comfortable. Jack and staff, Clover, were very quick to respond to any request. You really can't go wrong with choosing to stay there. Great views of the harbor and marina from all outdoor spaces too.

We spent a wonderful, relaxing week at the Pilot House B&B, Crew’s Quarters exploring the Bayfield area. Highlights were the location (close to downtown), the beautiful view and last, but certainly not least, our very friendly and accommodating host, Jack! We will definitely be recommending this place to our friends and family. Also the Apostle Islands Grand Tour Cruise was amazing!

Lovely location and manager. Felt it was prices to high for what we got. Bed was not the quality we expected. Room was adequate in size however there were no sit down lounge chairs. Tv channels very limited. Bathroom is well appointed but dangerous with large step up to toilet and shower.

We had a wonderful time in Bayfield, we did many of the attractions at Madeline Island, the apostle Island Cruise. We had great food nice outdoor patio at the Bayfield Inn. Regarding the property we were not aware that it was on such a steep hill for walking up and down it was it was a bit of a challenge. We also were quite surprised by the narrow, steep stairway to go down to our place the toilet in the bathroom, you had to step up to get to the toilet and the toilet is not a raised toilet so I guess that should be clearly stated in, the description. The pictures and description made it look as though you could sit out on a spacious patio and overlook the lake and just kind of relax, that was not the case we were lower level there were grass clippings on the windows not a good view from our room and the common area upstairs was really small compared to the pictures Listed a continental breakfast I felt that the continental breakfast was very limited. I mean it was yogurt muffin & juice. There was no fruit of any kind, to call it a continental breakfast was a bit of a stretch.

We found this property to be very comfortable, as well as allowing a gret view of the Bay and harbor area. Pleasant breakfast area w/ nice amenities, an attentive owner to share Bayfield info, and books, art and an historic atmosphere to allow you to rest, relax, and yet have fun! We'll stay again. The Pilot House is close to the water and the downtown businesses and restaurants. It was our first trip to Bayfield and the Pilot House was perfect for our 43rd anniversary weekend. We had a lot of fun chatting with Jack before we left. He's a hoot!

Walking distance to Apostle Islands cruise, Bayfield shops and restaurants. Had use of large common living area with a porch overlooking the city and the harbor. Bed was super comfortable, and the unit was spacious and very clean. We were in the Crew's Quarters which had a unique octagonal design with lots of windows. Navigating the hill on foot was a bit of a challenge for us as senior citizens, but it was good exercise. And if we didn't want to trek it, we could always take our car which was parked just outside the door.

We stayed at the Pilot House for just one night, but we loved its close proximity to downtown Bayfield. The room was great, and on the morning we left, a fox came up to our bedroom window, which was a delightful surprise. We appreciated the easy check-in process, especially since we arrived late at night, and the continental breakfast available in the morning was a nice touch.
