If you’re visiting in the winter, please be aware that the lake reaches its winter pool levels, which can leave the lakebed exposed. This unique feature offers an exciting opportunity to explore the area on foot and discover the hidden parts of the lake! However, fishing and swimming are best enjoyed once the lake reaches its summer pool, typically by late April or early May. The lake begins to draw down to winter pool levels by mid-October, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.brbrPlease keep in mind that you’re staying in a peaceful, rural setting surrounded by nature, which is part of what makes this place so wonderful. With this peaceful environment comes the occasional sighting of local wildlife—whether it's a deer, bunny, field mouse, bird, or even a reptile or insect.
