The colors in the afterglow can be spectacular. You will be sure to go home with plenty of magnificent sunset photos. She Sells Seashells offers the opportunity to view the sunsets right from the lanai.brbr The island offers some of the best fishing. You can fish from the dock or the beach. There are many options for boat rentals and fishing guides. For an adventurous experience you can even try fishing for goliath grouper which can get up to 700 pounds. brbrThere are several options for kayak and stand up paddle board rentals. You may want to try a guided kayak tour through the mangrove tunnels or rent a clear bottom kayak to explore. If you would like to try, there are fishing kayaks available to rent.brbrThe shelling is incredible. You can find a multitude of beautiful shells including sharks teeth and sand dollars. Wildlife is all around you. There are dolphins, manatee, gopher turtles, sea turtles, blue heron, pelicans as well as many other bird species. Beach chairs, beach toys, beach umbrella and a handy beach cart are all provided for your stay.brbrThe lower level covered deck is the perfect spot to relax. There are several added amenities to make your stay more enjoyable. There is plenty of comfortable seating, dining table and chairs, hammock, shell wash, stand up cooler, ceiling fans, bug light, beautiful outdoor lighting, fold down bar and a charcoal grill. An outdoor shower is downstairs, which is so refreshing after a day at the beach.brbr The ferry is free for guests and runs every 1-2-3 hours depending on the day of the week. There is free gated parking on the mainland. Also included is the use of the heated community pool. You can even bring your own boat (21.5 feet maximum) and dock it right at the community dock. There are 33 dock slips on a first come first serve basis. Continue 1-1/2 miles to the second traffic light, which is the intersection of CR-775 & 776. Continue straight at the light, at which point you will be on CR-775. At this intersection is Merchant's Crossing where you will find Publix Supermarket, a drug store and liquor store, among others. Continue south on CR-775 for 5 miles. Upon approaching Palm Island & Marine Max Marinas on the right, you will turn right 200 feet before the marinas, on Panama Boulevard--the entrance is marked by two white cement walls. Continue west down to the water, which is about two blocks. when directed by barge captain drive your car onto the barge, turn motor off, engage parking brake, and present your barge pass to the attendant. Enjoy your ride across!brbrWhen Arriving from the South, take Interstate 75 to Exit 170. Make a left on to Kings Highway, then a right onto Veterans Parkway at next stop light. Go approximately 10 miles until you cross Hwy 41 where Veterans Parkway becomes State Road 776. Continue on 776 to State Road 771. Turn left, 771 will turn into 775 after 7.5 miles. Continue on 775 for approximately 4 miles to Panama Boulevard. From that point, follow the directions as noted above. On 775 there is a Publix Supermarket, gas station and liquor store, about 1-1/2 miles south of ferry landing.brbr* Due to sometimes extreme weather in the winter, pool is heated to the level and at the discretion of the Condo Association Board. It may or may not be heated during your stay. Please let us know if you are interested in using the pool.
