The State Park charges a “Day Use Fee” of $3/car or $2/bikes or pedestrians for access and parking. Alcohol is not allowed as it is a State Park. It is a bit of a longer walk from parking area to the beach, but it’s a beautiful scenic walk on the long boardwalk with white sand dunes. The State Park Beach is less crowded than any public beach access points.brbrbrbr- Walton Dunes Beach Access (1.5 miles West of Prominence) has a small parking lot, but no bathrooms, and is located just west of the Deer Lake State Park boundary. This access has no steps-just walk straight onto the beach. One of our personal favorites!brbrbrbr-Gulf Lakes Estates is a South Walton County beach access (1 mile east of Prominence). Small access that can be easily missed. Parking not available but easy bike ride to the beach.brbrbrbr-Santa Clara is a public beach access located at Bramble Grove Place (about 3.5 miles). This access provides a lifeguard, parking and bathrooms as well as ADA access to the beach.brbrbrbrTHE BIG CHILL (FORMERLY THE HUB)brbrThe community’s town center, called “The Big Chill,” includes restaurants, shops, and an amphitheater. The amphitheater includes a covered event pavilion and is a great place to catch a concert, sporting event, or a movie on the lawn. This location is perfect for family outings! Be sure to catch the farmer's market here on Thursdays!brbrbrbrHOTSPOTS NEARBYbrbrThe location of Prominence is perfectly placed right in the middle of 30a. The Grouper Reef is at a depth of 12-21 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. The walk from the parking area to the beach is a bit longer than most area accesses. IMPORTANT - Because this is a state park, and not a Walton County beach access, alcohol is not allowed. Contact us for details! brbr▶️The good stuff: Beach Access! There are a lot of options when in Prominence. br- Deer Lake State Park Beach Access: Closest to Prominence! It is under a 5-minute golf cart ride or bike ride West on 30A from Prominence. This beach access has 50 parking spots available along with bathrooms and dining pavilions equipped with charcoal grills. The boardwalk here is lengthy (about a quarter mile), There is a $3 entry fee per vehicle that can be paid with cash on site or can also be reserved in advance. brbr- Gulf Lakes Beach Access: Best for bike rides to the beach and is a 7 minute ride East on the pedestrian path on the South side of 30A. There are newly placed No Parking signs on the South shoulder that prohibit parking golf carts on the South shoulder directly next to the Gulf Lakes Access and Pelican Circle community all the way to Camp Creek Lake. brbr- Seabreeze Beach Access: Right past Gulf Lakes Access and is another option with available North side 30A shoulder parking slightly closer to its entry. You can park and use the nearby crosswalk to crossover 30A directly to the access entry. brbr- Walton Dunes Beach Access: 10 min. golf cart ride West on 30A from Prominence. If you don't feel like paying the $3 at Deer Lake, then this is our favorite beach. This access is tucked in a residential area off 30A but has a public parking lot about 100 yards from the access entry. Walton Dunes is an easier entry as it has no boardwalk or steps, and you can walk from the road directly onto the beach. This is a good option for dropping off passengers and gear then parking in the nearby lot. The parking lot is limited, so getting here early is suggested. There are plenty of bicycle racks at the access should you decide to ride a bike. brbr- Inlet Beach Regional Access: 15-minute car ride but is a great option with ample parking, on-duty Lifeguards, and restrooms. You cannot take the golf cart to the Inlet Beach Access due to the distance from the house and because carts are restricted in Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, and along Highway 98. brbrOther things to note:br- Parking is available in the driveway for 2 vehicles at the townhome directly in front of the garage door (unit A), plus one space in the garage. Unit C offers parking for 1 vehicle in the driveway directly in front of townhome garage door (Unit C). There is no street parking available but there is overflow parking in South Prominence.br- Minimum age to rent the home is 25.br- Apologies, no furry friends are allowed at the home. The sliding glass doors in this room give you a straight path to the stunning private pool overlooking the Emerald Coast. The pool area has ample lounge seating (including a full-sized bed swing), as well as an outdoor shower and putting green. Stepping out each day onto your own private beach boardwalk will have you feeling lost in paradise. Out in the driveway you'll find a full size basketball hoop and inside the garage is a ping pong table. Just inside (and down the hall a bit) is a considerably sized theatre room equipped with a massive flat screen TV and surround sound, although it's going to be difficult to watch an entire movie through to the end once you settle into the cozy, oversized reclining sofas and chairs on all three levels of your theatre. And finally, the bedrooms...there is one king suite facing the pool and one multi-bunk room featuring two twin over queen bunks, each have their own private bathrooms as well. For convenience, we've also added a full secondary bathroom right off of the kitchen as well as a washer and dryer down the hall.brbrUp on the second floor is the main open-concept living area featuring a fully equipped kitchen with 5 stools at the eat-in bar, double dining tables that seat up to 16 guests, a separate (yet fully equipped) wet bar, full living room with fireplace and large flat screen TV and wall-to-wall accordion style folding glass doors. In addition to the indoor dining accommodations, you could also choose to experience a more unique setting and take a seat at the outdoor dining table overlooking the white sandy beach while listening to the waves roll in. The balcony on this floor provides stunning, unobstructed views for miles of natural coastline. Towards the South side of this floor is another multi-bunk room featuring a twin over twin and twin over queen with private single vanity bathroom plus a shower/tub combo and a half bath across the hall. With one last bunk room featuring a queen over king bunk and single vanity bathroom/walk-in shower, you would think that would conclude the amenities on the second floor, but nope - there is more, the carriage house! That is right, we've placed a unique secondary home within the main home! Still on the second floor, on the very South side is a two-level carriage home which features a full kitchen, dining area and sitting area. On the floor level of the carriage house is a beautiful king room with walkout balcony featuring a full bed swing and seating area. As you head up the spiral staircase, there is a secondary sitting area plus a bedroom with two twin beds and private bathroom.brbrThe third floor features the most stunning room in the entire home, we like to call it - The Superior Master Suite. Facing the beach with floor to ceiling windows across the entire room, you will feel like you are in your own oasis away from the rest of the world. The size of this room takes up half of the entire third floor and features a king size bed, Westward sitting area, Eastward dining area with sink/coffee/refrigerator area plus a hidden doorway that opens to an additional twin over twin bunk. This suite also has a spacious beachfront walkout balcony featuring a full-size bed swing and separate seating area. Along with a superior suite, is a superior en-suite! The walk-through bathroom features a wall-to-wall double vanity, oversized walk-in rainfall shower and separate oversized soaking tub. On the South side of this floor is a king bedroom with private bathroom. The full king suite across the hall also contains an additional twin over twin bunk and features a double vanity, walk-in shower, and separate soaking tub - perfect for families that want to stay together at night!
