The Treehouse is a spacious two-bedroom stilt home in the heart of Cedar Key, located just an hour west of Gainesville and situated in the center of Florida's Nature Coast. It offers nature lovers unique bird watching with soaring eagles, ospreys, and migrating birds galore. It's a fishing paradise for fishermen of Redfish, Trout, Drum, and much more. Enjoy Robinson Crusoe vibes and an amazing, extremely relaxing location. The large screened-in front porch, built around two oak trees. A boat dock out back on the canal allows fisherman to keep their boats in the water (tidal). Catch fish and crabs for dinner right off your own dock. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed while the guest bedroom has two twin beds. There is also a sofa bed in the living room for additional sleeping space. The bathrooms feature tub/shower combos, and we provide all linens, towels, and kitchen supplies.brbrThe living room is spacious and comfortable with sliding doors that open onto the screened balcony. We offer three TVs with Dish Network service, and the kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals, including a dishwasher. The dining area has seating for four and a bar with stools. The townhome is located on three levels, with the master bedroom and bath on the ground floor. The guest bedroom and bath is up half a flight of stairs, at mid level, along with the washer and dryer, and the living room, kitchen, and dining area up another half flight of stairs on the top floor, for a total of two floors.brbrParking is limited at this location, and boat trailers are not encouraged due to the close quarters. Please keep in mind that Serenity by the Sea does not offer the use of the garage. The property is private and quiet, surrounded by well-maintained landscaping and hidden by palms and oaks. The high bluff, an ancient shell midden, has a seawall leading down to the Gulf and the mangrove protected beach. While it is shelly here and has little sandy areas to launch kayaks, the mangroves lining the shoreline are thick and stand directly in the saltwater tides.brbrThe entire island is yours to explore when you rent a golf cart from one of the shops here. Please be aware of automobile traffic and always pull over to allow cars to pass. Watch the red and black drum tailing:) The house has a large shaded yard and porch that looks out over the Eastern Bayou as well.brThe Bonaire Cottage has the original hardwood floors and native unpainted knotty pine walls that add warmth to this unique original Florida home. The Master bedroom has a Queen bed and the second bedroom has 2 twin beds. Some of the original owner's dishes, decoration, and artwork are still displayed, adding much charm to this 'Florida Cracker House'brbrbrWatch the abundant wildlife and beautiful to spectacular sunrises from the back porch or dock. There are white egrets that perch in the yard and occasionally on the porch. Enjoy a cup of coffee or have your breakfast on the back porch which has a great swing and outdoor seating that overlooks the Gulf's eastern bayou. On low tide see the Pink Spoon Bill's snooping around for minnows that were left behind. Sometimes we have porpoises join us and put on a show rounding up mullet. That usually visit us in the late spring and summer. Not always, but sometimes several days in a row. Lots and lots of birds during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. brbrGrill your catch of the day and have a picnic or maybe just have an old fashion wiener roast in the large shaded backyard. Maybe have a game of Horseshoes! In the fall, enjoy an outdoor fire or oyster roast. Access to the deeper water channel #2 is approximately 250 feet away but it has gotten shallow over the last several years so we recommend launching your boat at the outside boat ramp. (Gulf of Mexico) That way you are not tied to the tides. No need to get in your car...boat rentals and fishing supplies are available across the street at the Cedar Key Marina. They are also available at D & W Bait shop...around 300 feet from the cottage. brbrThe high school's tennis courts are open to the public. A basketball court is located at the beach downtown, just go join in a pickup game or you may just have the court to yourself!brbrIf you are looking for a fancy, high-end house, this isn't the place for you. Osprey Nest is a short walk to a local strip of beach on the Gulf, a perfect location to relax and watch the sunset. Pet friendly of one dog and plenty of room for boat/trailer parking. brThis large and open home features three separate living spaces to spread out and relax after a long day on the water or exploring the town. Unwind in the home's sunroom with a glimpse of the Gulf of Mexico. The kitchen is large and spacious with an island. It is fully stocked with cooking amenities for your use. The home features two bedrooms each with queen sized beds and ensuite bathrooms. A sofa in the living room provides a third queen sized sleeper. The third hallway bathroom is located off of the sunroom. The Osprey Nest gets its name from one of Cedar Key's most famous resident birds. They build massive nests in many locations around town and you may be able to view one nesting close by the house. Osprey Nest is a completely updated and remodeled historic home dating back to the early nineteen hundreds. Years of history have accumulated here. During World War II the house was used temporarily as a barracks to house soldiers.There is a large fenced in backyard to keep your pets safe. A grill is provided for guest use. This is a pet friendly unit! Maximum of 1 dog under 20 pounds. Pet fee is $50 per pet per visit, 1 pet maximum. If you did not pay a pet fee on booking, please contact us immediately. Evidence of pets in unit without paying the pet fee as required will result in a penalty of $500 charge to your card on file. Please check with us on any other pets. You must put your pet in a crate if you leave the house or take the pet with you. Pet must be up-to-date on shots and flea protection. We do require that the pet not get on bed or furniture.
