Private back yard includes patio table for 6, lawn chairs for afternoon tanning/relaxing and year round (Anna's) hummingbirds. Fully equipped kitchen with gas range, refrigerator and dishwasher. Dining room table (with extension) seats 8. Living room with fantastic 180 degree water views with gas fireplace makes a stormy winter day a pleasure! Has 4 large bedrooms (with closets and chest/drawers) including large master bedroom with king bed and attached/private bath. Includes (very nice) washer/dryer. brLarge, fully fenced in yard (let the kids and dogs run!) with lawn, fruit tree, berries (in season) and gorgeous flowers (I invite guests to pick a 1 flower in exchange for pulling 1 weed - and to pick a full bouquet daily)! brPlenty of parking. House is located on a dead end street great in a nice rural neighborhood; great location for walking, biking or just hanging out.brLess than 5 minutes to downtown Oak Harbor, 10 minutes to Coupeville and 20 minutes to Deception Pass.Many great beaches with easy public access located nearby.brFor those that are bird lovers, we work hard to keep our locals and transients happy. Finches, quail, doves, towhees, sparrows, flickers, woodpeckers and hummingbirds (just to name a few) abound. Cozy and rustic two bedroom cottage within walking distance to Deception Pass State Park, directly across the street from Deception Pass Marina in Cornet Bay. The location can't be beat for crabbing and fishing trips. The triple boat launch and brand new public dock is 1/4 mile down the road into the park. The front lawn is across the street from the ocean. We have the largest lot in the neighborhood and it includes fruit trees, a garden, BBQ and kayaks.brbrLOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!brbr- We have the largest lot in the neighborhood (fully fenced with gates) and it includes fruit trees, a garden, hammock, fire pit, picnic tables and a BBQ. br-Walled in sun room functions as extended living space and has great views. br-The place is cozy, minimal and rustic, not lux, but has everything you need for a fun trip. br-The two bedrooms have queen beds.br-The living room has a large L-shaped couch that can sleep an adult and also there is a TV with Direct TV. br-5 guest maximumbr-Full kitchen, bathroom and small dining table. br-There is a laundry building separate from the house and we have lots of room for parking.br-Outdoor shower. It's awesome in the sun!br-There is a chicken coop next to the orchard area. We'll give you fresh eggs during your stay. The owner, my mom, may be around periodically tending to the animals/yard but will be sure to give you space. brbr*There is a fully detached and separate building from the main house that houses the laundry and a guest/mother-in-law style apt. My mom, the owner, may or may not be staying in it when guests rent the house. She would keep to her self and you would have privacy, but the building is in the middle of the property, not far from the house. If she is around and you need anything, help with the kayaks, suggestions, etc. she is right there! In the past, she has taken guests crabbing, clamming, etc. Check our reviews, she's a hoot. br*My mom has two very friendly, outdoor cats that stay in the big shop building on the property. If you have dogs or don't want the cats to be around, they can be kept inside the shop during your stay. Your dogs may see them through the windows. Please let me know. brbrThere is so much to do outside in the immediate surrounding area or within a short drive. The town of Oak Harbor is 15 minutes south for groceries, wine, antiquing, etc. Deception Pass Bridge is within trail walking distance or about a 5 minute drive (literally around the corner), Anacortes is 20 minutes north. Fishing, crabbing, hiking, biking, kayaking or just plain relaxing are at your fingertips. There is a boat launch and dock right down the street. brbrThe hike up Goose Rock is great, which is the big hill on the other side of the water from the marina and the highest point on Whidbey Island. The top of Mt. Erie is about a 15 minute drive away on Fidalgo Island.brbrThis is an easy 1.5 hour drive from Seattle or Vancouver B.C. so its just far enough from the cities to experience the rustic island vibe but not be too far away. Perfect for a long weekend or a couple weeks to decompress. You can also take the Mukilteo to Clinton ferry if you're coming from the south end but ferry reservations are recommended in the summer due to high usage and potentially long wait times. Its a nice trip but plan ahead to reduce travel time!brbr**Dogs may be approved on a case by case basis and require a $50 pet cleaning fee per dog if approved.brbr-There is a Navy base on the island. Every once in a while you may see or hear a jet in the sky. Typically it's not noticeable but you never know. Two or three people have mentioned it out of over 100 guests ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Read our reviews to see what people think of this place!brbr-Since we are out in the county and across from the ocean, we are on a septic system and have well water. Please go easy on the toilet. We have a big bottled spring water dispenser and also bottled water for every guest.brbr-This is an old, small house that got a remodel recently. Everything works and the location is great but there are some creaks and quirks and that is what gives it character and makes it unique. Think modernized beach cabin vibes!

Baker, the Cascades, the harbor and city lights! Oak Harbor is small enough to be quaint but large enough for all of the conveniences! With a charming downtown area to satisfy everyone and many fun and entertaining events throughout the year you`ll have lots of options not to mention the many sightseeing areas nearby!brbrThis home is built on a hillside with fabulous views of Mt. Baker, the harbor and city! The top floor (street level) is the available space and is newly renovated, easily accessible and very spacious!brbr- Kitchen: Full kitchen with electric cooktop, wall oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, blender, toaster, tea kettle, dishware, glassware, pots and pans... pretty much anything you might need to prepare and serve meals! And the view!brbr- Living Room: Spacious! With a queen sleeper sofa, a recliner chair and a `lift` chair. The 50` smart TV is above a cabinet with games and puzzles. The coffee table is special... it pulls apart to configure many different ways (see photos!). The gas fireplace adds ambiance! The Wifi is high speed. And the view!brbr- Bedroom: Huge master bedroom with a large walk-in closet. The king size bed is a `sleep number` bed with each side having it`s own setting. There are 2 swivel rockers and a sliding door leads out to the semi private (it can be accessed from the main deck/balcony) deck with a double glider to sit and enjoy the view! Did I mention the view !brbrBathrooms: The master bathroom is large and has 2 rooms. The outer room and vanity contains a wonderful soaking tub! Along with a sink, counter, cabinet with lots of mirrors! The inner room contains the Kohler low toilet, a taller vanity sink, cabinet and the walk-in shower. brThe half-bath (powder room) is near the front entry and has the basic sink and toilet. Sorry, no view in the bathrooms! Lol!brbrDeck/Balcony/patio: This wonderful, covered patio has a gas BBQ and a table and chairs to relax, sit and have your glass of wine (or coffee) and enjoy that incredible view! Mt. Baker, the harbor, city lights at night... Just so fabulous!brbrParking: Plenty of parking! A space right in front of the garage near the front door and loads of parking on the street (where there is also a wonderful view!)!brbrLaundry: In its own room, is the full size washer and dryer with laundry `sheets` (instead of detergent) and dryer sheets, too! For your use! And there is even a little bit of a view out the window in the side door! :-)brbr* Activities *brDeception Pass Bridge (one of the most photographed!) and the surrounding area is a must to explore!brbrPBY Museum is really well done with the history of Oak Harbor AND there is a plane to see in real life! brbrFort Ebey and Fort Casey (from WW2) are just a short drive away. brbrHistoric Coupeville (the oldest city is Washington) is just 10 miles south. br brAnacortes, on Fidalgo Island is fun to explore. brbrPort Townsend (on the Olympic Peninsula is a fun ferry ride (reservations are recommended for that ferry unless you walk on).brbrGuest have access to the entire top floor (street level) except the garage.brbrI like to give my guests plenty of privacy so you most likely won`t be seeing me and you can just feel like you`re right at home. I depend on the Airbnb message center for communication so be sure to turn on notifications so you`ll be sure to get my messages. And I will look for your messages there as well!brbrThis neighborhood is single family homes on a hillside with amazing views! It is a quiet one but we are also living in a Navy Air community so those wonderful jet pilots need to practice. They rarely fly over the house (maybe once a year) but you can hear the noise as they practice their touch-and-goes! Its the Sound of Freedom! Just down the hill is Walmart and Safeway - easy walking distance if you`re so inclined!brbrA car is a must for this location although the bus system does run the entire island and is free of charge. Parking for the house is super easy - right in front! And there is plenty of parking on the street as well!brbrWe live in a Naval Air Station community so occasionally the jets fly overhead. The normal flight pattern is wider around the city but sometimes they fly over which is very cool to watch!br• Please take off your shoes when inside the home.br• The neighborhood’s quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am.br• Please turn off AC/HEATING/LIGHTS when you go out (except the front porch light so you can see when you come back!).br• Please close and lock all windows and doors when you leave the property.br• Visitors are allowed if they do not spend the night.br• Pets are allowed on a case by case basis ($125 fee).br• No smoking inside; you may use the parking lot/street.br• No illegal substances are allowed.br• Please separate waste from recyclables in the labeled bins provided.br• No food or drinks in the bedrooms.br• No candles or other open flames.br• We do not allow parties in the home.br• Please only throw toilet paper in the toilet; there is a trash can beside it for everything else.br• If you break or damage something, please let us know and together we can arrange for its replacement or repair.
