We are a residential neighborhood tucked in a very urban and up-and-coming part of the city. brbrHISTORYbrDignowity Hill was San Antonio’s first upper-class residential suburb and is named after its first settler, Dr. Anthony Michael Dignowity, a physician and Czech immigrant. During the latter part of the nineteenth century, Dignowity Hill, as it became known, was home to prominent San Antonio merchants and business owners who constructed large estates. In the 1920’s the neighborhood consisted primarily of small Folk Victorian style houses and Craftsman Bungalows.
