I grew up in the country on a small 3 acre farm and Dan grew up in town. We were childhood sweethearts and both attended Baylor University. brbr brbrI have loved furnishing and decorating the homes for our guests. I continue to do a lot of the landscaping and taking care of the general upkeep of the homes. brbr brbrI love to garden - there are even kitchen gardens for our guests to enjoy!, and I am an avid reader. Since I have retired I have more time to volunteer. Dan is always busy working on something on the farm - he will never be bored! brbr brbrOur youngest son, David, was 6 weeks old when we moved to the farm and he and his family live on the farm. David chose a home site along the bluff and built his home. David is a Georgetown motor officer, so if you see a police car on the drive, there is no problem - it is just David coming and going! brbr brbrOur oldest son, Daniel, sold his IT business in Dallas and moved back to the farm in 2018! He and Sherry are avid gardeners and cooks/chefs. Look for some of their homemade goodies in the home that you can purchase. brbr brbrMy nephew, Grant Burnham with Grant Burnham Ceramics has made custom mugs and tankards for me and guests have loved them as souvenirs. they are in the homes as well. Grant makes them, then fires them at the kiln on the farm. He photographs them on the terraced patios of Rocky Overlook. brbr brbrAs you can tell, this is a family affair! We have all loved meeting and getting to know our guests as we meet them out and about the farm or while giving tours or tractor rides. We take great pride in what we do. I believe we offer a boutique farm stay experience to our guests. Not boutique as in fancy schmancy, but boutique in providing a one-of-a-kind experience to our guests. I gave a tour this afternoon, and as I dropped a guest off, she commented, thank you so much. You made me feel like a member of the family! brbrThis large, open home was designed around centuries-old live oak trees. It is constructed of river rock; every rock was picked up at the river on the property by Sheron's parents, Bill and Pauline Thweatt. brbr brbrGuests have marveled at how the rock was laid - all of the grout exactly the same depth and smoothed, and the lines of rocks precisely straight. Mama laid all of the rocks that show on the front of the houses, the columns in front of the homes, and the interior rock fireplace walls. Daddy laid rock on the back and sides where they would not be as visible! Daddy did an outstanding jpob, too, but the artist in Mamom had to have the very straight, precise lines!! brbr brbrThere are special rocks interspersed with the river rocks and mama could tell you a story about each one. I am sorry I didn't write those stories down. brbrWhen Mom and Dad bought this beautiful piece of property, they gave each of their 5 children the option of building a home at a location of our choosing. Dan and I jumped at the opportunity and were the only ones to take them up on it. We moved to the farm in 1971 and built our home in 1977. brbr brbrAfter my dad died in 1986 Dan and I began buying the farm. When my mom died in 2010, she left her home and art studio to us. brbr brbrWe've raised our family here and made the same offer to our two sons and our youngest took us up on it and built a beautiful home for his family in the middle of the property. brbr brbrOur oldest son can't wait to retire and return to the farm! brbr brbrMy sisters helped me and we totally remodeled the interiors of both and the results have been spectacular. It has been so gratifying to share my parent's dream home, history, and talents with others. brbr brbrIn each house, I have a notebook with the story of their searching for and finding the property and building the houses. Also, the story of mama's painting and how she became C. P. Montague and a favorite of President Lyndon B. Johnson. The joy and appreciation that guests have when staying there are a living tribute to mama and daddy! brbr brbrIt is a working farm in a rural setting, yet only a ten minute drive to Southwestern University in Georgetown. It is a quick drive if you need to go to the grocery store, stroll around the square or enjoy one of the many good restaurants in Georgetown. We are a 25 minute drive to the charming town of Salado and many guests enjoy a day enjoying all of the shops there and eating at the Stagecoach Inn. Waco and The Silos is a 75 minute drive from the farm and makes a good day trip. The ABIA airport in Austin is a 35 minute drive via the 80 mph toll road. brbr brbrYou can enjoy the peace and quiet of the 172 acre farm and spend all of your time there, or use it as a home base to make day trips and see more of the Texas Hill Country, knowing you have a nice place to return to in the evenings. brbr brbrWith one mile of San Gabriel River frontage on the farm, guests have enjoyed many activities on the river - swimming, tubing, picnicking, bird watching, or searching for fossils in the wide white limestone banks. Guests are welcome to hike about the 172 acres of the farm, search for arrowheads, visit and interact with the horses and goats, feed the chickens and gather eggs, ride in the large air-conditioned cab tractor during hay baling season, enjoy a free guided tour of the farm in an off-road vehicle, or just enjoy laying in the hammock or sitting by the fire.

The home is fully furnished and ready for you. brbrDowntown Georgetown is less than a 10 minute drive and includes many restaurants, museums, wineries, shopping adventures and the historical Georgetown Square. Southwestern University, Round Rock Outlet Mall and Sun City are all just a short drive! brbrThis property is perfect for small groups not exceeding 6 people. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Both of the bathrooms have walk-in showers (no bathtubs). There is a long carport for covered parking. There is other parking in the long driveway and on the street. Please note, garage and owner's bedroom are locked, and not for guest use. brbrAccess to down to the river by the water is NOT allowed due to the steep slope to get down there. Guests need to stay in the backyard fenced area. Chandler Park is just a few minute drive away and is a great place to fish and sit at the picnic tables by the water if you want to be by the river. brbrThis property does not allow children and is not child friendly. There is no lifeguard on duty, so swim at your own risk and minimum age for all guests is 15 years old. The pool is not heated. The person making the reservation needs to be at least 25 years old. No diving in the pool as it is shallow. Please stay off the pool coping and faux negative edge (on the sides and back of the pool).brbrDon't forget your coffee, cream, sugar, laundry detergent, soaps and toiletries. We have a drip style coffee pot and Keurig coffee maker at the property. Kick your feet up, watch the deer and enjoy the Texas sunset! The Casita (little house) will treat you to amazing views and quiet comfort. We think details and cleanliness make for great stays and our goal is to exceed your expectations. You'll have the whole house all to yourself. brbrBuilt in 2018, this one bedroom/one bathroom house features a classic hill country limestone exterior, stained concrete floors, standing-seam metal roof, a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops. Other features include a Carrier central A/C and heat system with a Nest thermostat, and of course free and fast (400/40) Wi-Fi. Our goal in designing and building this house was that it would feel much bigger than it was, and have everything you would ever want and need, just in a modest footprint. If you read the reviews you'll see that this space always exceeds guest expectations. brbrThe living room features a recliner, L-shaped sectional sofa, storage ottoman and side table with a phone charger, books, and games. You'll have a 60 smart/streaming TV with all popular streaming apps, a DVD player and assortment of DVDs. There are extra pillows and throws to make your stay as cozy as possible. The sofa folds out into a queen-sized sleeper bed if needed. brbrThe bedroom has a queen bed with lots of extra pillows and of course all sheets, blankets, etc are provided. There are two dressers, two nightstands, phone chargers, lamps and a 24 smart/streaming TV. The spacious closet provides for lots of hanging space and we also provide luggage stands and a small safe. brbrThe bathroom was designed to feel big and luxurious, with frameless resort-style glass and a large walk-in, no-transition shower. We provide towels and washcloths along with body soap, conditioner, shampoo, and everything else you would expect including a hair dryer. brbrLast but not least, the walk-in laundry room and pantry area features a lot of great storage, a full-sized LG washer and dryer, ironing board, iron, detergent and bleach. brbrYou'll access the home via a keypad so check-in/out is super easy. Per VRBO disclosure requirements: there is one security camera on the property, located on the covered front porch. There are no other cameras inside or outside the residence. brbrAnd while you'll love the house you'll REALLY love the back porch! Sit in one of the rocking chairs and enjoy a picture-perfect view looking southwest across the eastern edge of the Edwards Plateau . brbrPlease be mindful of the house rules, which include not inviting additional guests or local visitors ; no events or gatherings of any kind. No children under 15 and you must be 25 or older to book. We also have a strict policy prohibiting smoking & vaping on the property, which includes both inside and outside the home.
