It was a thriving town and until just about 30 years ago part of the old bank was still standing just a short distance from Hill Cottage.brbrLocated only a few miles from Fredericksburg this delightful quaint, little cottage boasts phenomenal views. The yard has a wonderful array of birds. The outside patio has comfy chairs and charcoal grill and is ideal for watching our feathered friends, rabbits, deer, and all the other nature so abundant to the area. brbrThe Adam's family built Hill Cottage in 1912, and also were founders of Cain City. Pine floors, pristine white trim, fluffy white lace curtains, and rich rose walls enhance the playful mix of patterns in the floral sofa and plaid armchair creating a warm and inviting glow in the living room. Enjoy the Direct TV with DVD player. Two bedrooms (both with queen-size beds) are found on both sides of the bath. Comfy reading chairs are found in both bedrooms along with antique dressers and chests. The bath has a claw foot tub with shower.brbrA completely equipped country kitchen has a range/oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker. The adjacent dining room has a table for four and antique china cabinet. Windows are conveniently arranged to enjoy the countryside views. Lavishly decorated with native German settler antiquities, this is one not to be missed by aficionados of history and unparalleled elegance. Arriving at the home, you can't help but be immediately charmed by its cheerful pale blue paint and inviting front porch. However, these two aspects are just a taste of the wonders that await you inside. Branching off from a pleasant foyer, to the left you'll find a resplendent parlor occupied by opulent seating, a lavish oversized rug, and handsome historic oak flooring while to the right lies the first bedroom, appropriately named “the honeymoon suite,” that features a grandiose full tester bed complimented by the oak floors continued from the parlor and foyer. Further in are a lovely second bedroom with an ornate wooden headboard and a second seating area that is a bit less formal than the parlor but just as exquisitely furnished. Both bathrooms in the home feature desirable gray stone floors with one featuring a romantic clawfoot tub with handheld shower and the other a modern walk-in shower. The true gem of the home though has to be the spectacular dining room. Cain City was founded as one of the stops along the Fredericksburg and Great Northern Railway. It was a thriving town and until just about 40 years ago part of the old bank was still standing just a short distance from Broadway Cottage and Hill Cottage.brbrLocated only a few miles from Fredericksburg this delightful quaint, little cottage boasts views of Fredericksburg. The yard has a wonderful array of birds. A rock patio in the back yard has comfy seating with a charcoal barbecue grill. The heavy growth of trees in the back is great for attracting birds, deer and other fun wildlife. brbrYour hosts also own Hill Cottage, which is next door and moved Broadway Cottage to this site in the late 1990's. Wood floors, fun yet elegant window treatments are found though out the house along with wonderful, playful rugs that brighten the rooms. The living/dining room offers an antique table for four and a colorful sofa mixed with an array of designs and colors. Two other chairs are placed perfectly for watching the Direct TV or just to enjoy visiting. There are two bedrooms both with queen-size beds topped with quilts. Two bathrooms offer showers. A comfy reading chair is found in the front bedroom along with an antique armoire. brbrA completely equipped country kitchen has a range/oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker. A small table with chairs is also found in the kitchen.brbrPlease Note: You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC).
