For additional sleeping, our sofa converts to a queen sleeper bed. brbrOutside, enjoy views of the hills from the front balcony or relax in the private fenced-in side yard where you'll find a covered patio with rocking chairs, dining set, hot tub, and flat screen TV. We also have an open deck with a propane fire pit and chairs. Several outdoor games including cornhole, giant connect 4, Jenga, and darts are available. A charcoal BBQ grill is provided for your grilling needs. brbrWe are avid basketball fans and have installed an outdoor basketball court for all guests on our ranchette to use. Feel free to also exit the back gate of your yard and go on a little nature walk where you may be lucky to encounter native species such as whitetail deer, fox, squirrels, and more. brbrThe Barn Haus also offers a truly unbeatable location. Main Street Boerne is around 7 minutes away, with a multitude of shops and restaurants to enjoy. For the live music lover, Luckenbach is a straight shot about 20 minutes north from the Oak Haus. The quaint town of Sisterdale is 7 minutes north and offers a wonderful BBQ restaurant - Black Board BBQ, Sister Creek Winery, Sisterdale Distilling Company and a lovely scenic drive.brbrThe Barn Haus is within minutes of several wedding venues and wineries/vineyards. We have two large living areas, 4 bedrooms-1 King, 1 Queen and two twin-over-full bunk beds (All beds have a memory foam topper--inflatable Queen air mattress sleeps two more, if needed.) . 2 Full bathrooms (and an outdoor shower!) and fully equipped kitchen for everyone to gather. Right outside your door is a pool and spa. Relax by the fire pit and cook some 'smores. And our open air outdoor shower is a great way to end the day. Amenities include 2 Flat screen TVs, wifi, basic cable, DVRs, washer/dryer, trampoline, play fort, BBQ grill, plenty of extra parking, and so much more. There's even an office or those who have to do a little work (BOO!) 2.5 miles from downtown Boerne, 12 miles from Six Flags, 22 miles from Sea World, 30 miles from the River Walk in San Antonio, and minutes from local wineries. I have two dogs who roam the property, both females, both friendly, but one is territorial, so sorry-no pets.. Property manager (that would be me) lives in his house 80 feet away, so response to any issue that may arise is very quick. Hughes. The Cottage was the original school house for Hastings and one of the main rooms in Farmhouse on property was the original structure of the Hastings Post Office. brbrbrbrThe community of Hastings was established in the late 19th century with the settlement of immigrants from England who came to farm and ranch in Texas. William George (Willy) Hughes, at the age of 19, moved from Kensington, London, to Texas in 1878 to learn about the business of managing and marketing sheep and wool. Willy took Oxfordshire Downs sheep from England and started building his herds on 160 acres southwest of Boerne. His two brothers, Harry and Gerard, joined him in 1879. In the same year, Willy purchased his second piece of land where the ranch headquarters would be built.brbrbrbrThe Hughes Ranch engaged in breeding cattle, sheep, goats, and horses. The ranch expanded its operations to include U.S. mail delivery, stage line services, meals, tourism activities, and buying and selling real estate.
