Pap’s place is a single-wide mobile home that has been recently renovated. This property is named after the former owner, Warren Sterner, affectionately called “Pap” by his grandchildren. Warren was a railroad enthusiast. He could never work on the railroad due to the loss of an eye at a young age. This home has been decorated with prints of railroad and local scenes that Warren painted during his life.brbrThis single wide is an older structure. The owners have done a partial renovation in this space completed in June 2021. The house is equipped with Wifi, a smart TV for streaming your favorite shows, air conditioning in both bedrooms and the kitchen/living room area as well as a full kitchen with all the essential cooking supplies, and off-street parking for both bikes and cars. The home is equipped with a washer and dryer for guest usage. There is an ample sized yard for playing yard games or just hanging out and relaxing. The covered front porch invites you to sit and enjoy some reflection in the two rocking chairs that are provided for your relaxation.brbrBedroom #2 has a full size bed in it. brbrPap’s Place has 2 video cameras installed on the property. These cameras are NOT inside the house. They both are used to monitor the outside of the property. Once you have checked into Pap’s Place there is a three-ring binder in the living that contains information about your stay. Included in that binder is a photo that shows the coverage areas of the cameras.brbrThis home is a little over ½ mile from the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP), but there is approximately 130 feet of elevation gain from the GAP to this home. The owner will provide the safest (not shortest) route on how to get from the GAP to this home in your confirmation email. There is a Dollar General in Rockwood where you can get some basic grocery needs. If you need additional food items you may contact the owner after your reservation has been made for possible arrangements of these itemsbrbrPlease note that this listing is in the small town of Rockwood (approx. 814 people according to 2020 census), but not all cell phone carriers work here. T-Mobile does not have any service in this town. If you cell phone carrier allows you to make phone calls over the internet then you can use my wifi to make cellular calls. The best way to find out if you can do this and how is to contact your cell phone company before traveling into the area. As I find out about any other carriers that do not work in this area I will continue to post here. (I have Verizon and it works great at Pap's Place!)

Serenity Falls is a turn of the century farm house that has been completely remodeled and updated and is now a guesthouse that is 6 miles from Seven Springs Mountain Resort and 9 miles from Hidden Valley Ski Resort. The focal point inside of our mountain home is a 24 foot sunken Great room with a large eight foot Seven Springs style stone log burning fireplace with key starter for propane to help start the fire!!! The brand new black walnut wood furniture dining room overlooks the great room and is adjacent to the spacious country kitchen with brand new hickory cabinets and new countertops. Recently remodeled bathroom on first floor. Our Mountain home is very peaceful and serene whether it is spring, summer, fall or winter. brbrThe side and back decks are a great place to relax and enjoy cook-outs with friends and family. We also have exterior speakers for our stereo system to enjoy music on the deck or by the fire ring when the children are roasting marshmallows or making s'mores. A new addition to the backyard landscape is a 34 foot two sided waterfall that is operational from May to Oct 31. This is very soothing and serene. brbrAnother addition to our mountain landscape is a very relaxing arbor, a perfect location to watch the sunset and get a great view of the 34 foot waterfall. Plants have been added to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Take a walk to the top of the hill and experience some fantastic views of the countryside. You may even see some deer if you go at the right time!!brbrWinter takes on a completely different look and feel. The Covered Bridge Lodge is a custom log home situated on a beautiful trout stream right next to a historic covered bridge. Being close to Seven Springs Mountain Resort and multiple State Parks makes this a desirable getaway for all four seasons. The home was custom designed to take advantage of the beautiful stream views with a large great room using cathedral ceilings and large windows. All four bedrooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with custom made white cedar log furniture. A second story loft with sofa bed is a cozy space that has great views as well. An open floor plan on the main level boasts a large kitchen and great room that opens to a large deck overlooking the stream. The kitchen has a large center island and peninsula with granite countertops and seating throughout. The bottom level has two bedrooms, a full bath, large sitting room with a full bar and multiple TVs. This level has large sliding glass doors that open to a patio and outdoor fire pit.

The second floor was designed as a large bunk room perfect for kids or small groups. The cabin does have high-speed internet for those looking to work remotely or for streaming. brbrGuests MUST have AWD/4WD from November 1-March 31, or risk getting stuck.
