Cheers.brbrThe space:brbrThe Lake Erie “Beatnik Bungalow features tons of retro & mid century modern charm. The two bedroom 853 sq. foot cottage is literally built right into the hill side. Features include large windows for lots of natural sunlight, 70” smart TV, dining area for 4, fully appointed kitchen, full bath, 1 king bed, and 2 XL Twin beds.brbrOur Neighborhood:brbrA short walk from our front door you will find many amenities for outdoor activities. Freeport Beach is a lifeguarded public swimming spot on Lake Erie. You can also immerse yourself in searching for beach glass aka “Lake Erie diamonds”. Be sure to stick around for one of our breathtaking world class sunsets. brbrFeel free to bring your kayaks if you’d like to explore Lake Erie & its coastline. You could put in here at the beach & leave your car in the public parking lot. brbrAdjacent to the beach is Hallie Reed Park. Here you will find pavilions, picnic tables, BBQ grills, volleyball courts, swings, & a playground. There are also restrooms here. brbr16 Mile Creek runs alongside of Hallie Reed Park and empties directly into Lake Erie. This is a very popular destination for steelhead fishing. brbrJust south of our street is “BicyclePA Route Z” Mostly using Route 5, this trail follows the Lake Erie shoreline for 45-plus miles and connects New York’s Seaway Trail to the Ohio border. This route is not a separate paved trail, but rather a widened berm alongside the road that offers space for cyclists. brbrAnd onto the good stuff, Lake Erie Wine Country! Consisting of 24 boutique wineries that are open year round on a 50 mile span along the southern shore of Lake Erie between North East, PA & Silver Creek, NY. With award winning wines, gift shops, & special events. There are over 30,000 contiguous acres of luscious grape vineyards out this way. Our wineries, lodging, dining, & attractions support this unique and beautiful region. brbrOur bungalow is easily accessed from I-90 interstate near the intersection of Rt. 5 & Rt. 89. It is on a small private dead end lane off of the main thoroughfare. Some of our neighbors are year round residents ranging from young kids to retirees so please be mindful of your driving speeds & after-hours noise levels. You might also even hear some chickens in the neighborhood (we recommend buying eggs from their roadside stand).brbrGetting around:brbrThe house features adequate parking for 2-3 cars or a detached boat trailer if storage is needed. It is a small windy dead end lane. Additional day time parking can be found at the end the main road by Freeport Beach. The Beatnik Bungalow is literally built into the hillside. The rustic stairs leading up to our front door are made of railroad ties, gravel, & locally sourced flagstone. The steps can be a little irregular in height and depth so please keep that in mind when traversing.

Whether you're looking for a staycation or to see all that this historic region has to offer, we have something for everyone.brbrWe are located in the heart of wine country, with close proximity to beaches, marinas, premier fishing, antiquing, Presque Isle, and the Chautauqua Institution. All are welcome to enjoy our slice of paradise!br brHeard it Through the Grapevine is situated on a private street across from Lake Erie. The backyard is large with a vineyard in back, a fire pit with tables and chairs, plus a patio with outdoor seating and an 8 person table. We ask that guests please bring/purchase firewood to use in the pit. There is a nice deck in front to have a drink and view the lake and the gorgeous sunsets. A few houses down is a private access to the lake where you can bring kayaks, walk, or go for a swim. Two parks are within a mile of our home as well. As summer ends you smell the grapes, and can enjoy 20 close by wineries. The wineries have tastings and other events year round. Mazza winery is a quick walk from our home. The immediate area is great for walking, biking, and fishing. We have a long driveway to park boats and other toys. We have abundance of yard games available for guest use, including cornhole, croquet, bocce ball, giant Jenga and connect four!brbrThe house is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath spacious home. There is a large family room with a new tv, dining room and our favorite area is the sunroom where you can play games, eat at the table, view the private yard, sit on the comfy furniture, and listen to tunes and enjoy our bar. The kitchen is well stocked with multiple sets of dishes, silverware, and glasses. We have 1 king, 1 queen, and 2 bunks. All mattresses are new. A tv is available in the master bedroom. Lots of pillow choices, and blankets are available for your convenience. A brand new washer/ dryer was just added in 2026 for your convenience.brbrCome enjoy the serenity!
