Moved to Wellfleet in the mid 1800s, the building has been a ship chandlery, an oyster house, a roller rink (the original oak roller skating floor is still in the family room) and a machine shop run by Joe Warner, a prolific inventor who developed hydraulic steering for ships and built steam automobiles in the ground floor. From 1970 to 2007, the building was the home of Wellfleet Pottery, a ceramic design and manufacturing studio and gallery, owned and operated by Trevor and Kathleen Glucksman. A summer at grandma and grandpas house in Wellfleet. A home of many generations and a time capsule of nostalgia for all.brThis quaint 5 bedroom 1.5 bath home was built in 1810. A claw foot tub in the downstairs bathroom and an outdoor shower for your enjoyment. A hammock in the yard or chair on the deck is just the type of relaxation you didn't know you needed. Washer and dryer available. A small equipped kitchen no dishwasher. With a lot of great dining options on the cape not sure you will get a chance to use the kitchen but if you make a meal in, it can be enjoyed at the old dining room table seated upon antique chairs that have endured countless family meals for generations. Wi-fi and a smart T.V. in the living room if you want to stay in touch with the hustle and bustle of modern day life while sitting on some vintage furniture. There is one full bathroom (bath only, shower is outside.) and one bedroom downstairs with one full bed. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom with a king bed has a half bath and a small adjoining bedroom with a twin bed. The next room can be accessed from either the master or the second staircase. It has a king or two twins if separated and another twin in the corner of the room. The last bedroom has one twin bed and a beautiful view of the trees below.brThere is no central air conditioning but there are 3 portable air conditioners available.brThe yard is large and there is a field downhill from the driveway for family play. Centrally located on the cape, this getaway is 2.9 miles from the beachcomber, 3.6 miles from long pond, 2.9 miles from Downtown Wellfleet. The house is right off of route 6 but tucked away out of view from the road.brGuest accessbrGuests have access to the entire home except the attic.
