That bill has not yet become law, and even if it does, it would not go into effect for our property until 2031. In the meantime, Maui is open and ready for business. We are ready to welcome you with a spirit of Aloha!**brbrCrew Rest Maui is a hidden gem at the north end of Ma'alaea Bay in South Maui. Our privately owned two bedroom, two bathroom beachfront 'home away from home' is a corner unit on the second floor of a four-story building directly at the water's edge. Our private lanai is directly oceanfront and looks across to neighboring Islands, the world-famous Molokini crater, and 10,000 foot Haleakala. It provides the perfect place to relax, watch the waves, and even see humpback whales during whale season. brbrThere are HUGE benefits to a corner unit on the second floor, and it's important to understand WHY the location of the unit in the complex makes such a huge difference.brCorner units offer: the added security of not being at ground level, the privacy of having bedroom windows looking out on the beautiful courtyard, pool and ocean instead of sidewalk and parking lot and the absence of foot traffic past your private lanai. (Before booking in Kanai a Nalu, understand that the guest bedrooms of non-corner units look out onto the parking lot. There are plenty of plush beach towels, some dish/laundry soap to get you started, beach toys and boogie boards, liquid hand soap in the bathrooms, velvet non-slip hangers, Keurig coffee maker, keyless entry keypad, secure WiFi, and a well-equipped kitchen with everything you'll need. The living room features a smart, flat screen, wall-mounted TV with cable. Both bedrooms feature wall-mounted smart TVs with cable access as well as the ability to login to your favorite streaming service. brbrThe private lanai is one of the best features of our unit. Again, it is DIRECTLY on the water, and not all units in the complex have such an amazing location and views. The lanai is a perfect place for reading, eating, whale watching or just plain relaxing to the sound of the gentle surf. You'll enjoy watching sea turtles (and whales during whale season) directly offshore from the lanai. br brJust down the street from the condo, you'll find the core of Maalaea and the harbor area. This adorable seaside village offers a wide variety of activities such as snorkeling excursions and sunset cruises, shopping, delicious dining options, mini golf, an aquarium, and the Pacific Whale Foundation. brbrThe central location of Crew Rest Maui is ideal for exploring all of Maui. You're just 15 minutes from the airport, 25 minutes from the North Shore, 10 minutes from Kihei, 20 minutes from Lahaina, and 5 miles or less from several golf course options. brbrOur favorite aspect of the Kanai a Nalu complex is the quiet, laid back feel. If you like the hustle and bustle of crowded resorts where you sleep in a cramped hotel room and share a beach and pool with hundreds of people while enjoying a $20 cocktail and $30 cheeseburger, this is not the place for you. Those taken from above (e.g. views of the pool) were really taken from our Lanai and those on the beach were really taken from right in front of the condo!brbrWe have our own high-speed (100mbps) internet and encrypted wifi or spend your time lounging around the heated pool. We have lots of play toys for your use including beach chairs & towels, sand toys, a cooler, even some snorkeling gear.brbrThe Kanai A Nalu condo complex means 'gentle surf' in Hawaiian. Enjoy the gentle surf just steps from the condo!!! As you walk the beach be sure to look for sea turtles just off the shore. There is also a washer and dryer in the condo which is a huge benefit. We have added a touch of Hawaiianna to the condo with natural BOHO rattan bamboo furniture, including bar stools, chairs and tables. brbrShould you need to work while in paradise you can use the free standing desk equipped with 7 outlets, a light and clock, and you will also find USB equipped outlets throughout the condo. The internet is free wired and wireless, and has hotel level high speed connectivity. The condo also features a private landline telephone with free US and (most of) Canada calls. brbrThe living room and bedroom feature Samsung smart TVs with cable television. brbrThe bedroom features a new Beautyrest King bed, large closet and a tall armoire with drawers. The bathroom features a tall toilet, walk in shower, quartz countertop, recessed mirror cabinet, and lots of racks for hanging.brbrThe lanai is by far the most popular part of the our condo. Oceanfront and private, the lanai features a bar height Polywood table and chairs perfect for watching the sunrise over Haleakala and all the sea life that Maui has to offer. brbrTo keep you cool, the lanai also features a Coolaroo roller shade. The condo features a wall air-conditioner however you will find the nice Maui trade winds keep you cool.brbrRight on Maalaea Bay, where whales entertain you (in season) and turtles frolic in the water, our condo will not disappoint you! brbrOutside are beautifully kept grounds, a bbq area, tables for dining, and a solar heated hot tub and pool. There is a small beach area(see photos) with gated access which is perfect for sitting in beach chairs while the sun sets, or for watching the turtles who often come on shore to warm up. The beach also is great for hunting for glass and you will find some of it within the condo as we have added accents. The water access is by far a benefit of our location as snorkeling, kayaking, or SUP has never been easier. There are many sources for rentals in the area.brbrBeach walking has never been better when you stay with us. Access to Sugar Beach is just a short walk down the street where beautiful sand will greet you for 5+ miles. You can easily walk to Kihei and enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of Maui on your way. brbrThe condo is centrally located and close to activities and attractions, but quiet and relaxing....not a noisy, busy resort!
