The living room opens up to a lanai with gorgeous ocean and mountain views. From the 5th floor enjoy views of Mt. Haleakala to the east and the crystal blue ocean to the west. In winter months keep an eye out for humpback whales breaching and spouting as they pass by. brbrThe kitchen and bathroom were remodeled in 2008. This Menehune Shores Condo is unit #620 and is an oceanfront/oceanview penthouse, which has 885 square feet with two bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom is on the oceanside of the building and has a King-size bed. The second bedroom has a Queen bed plus a pull out twin and there is a sofa bed in the living room. Towels and linens are provided. Since it is a penthouse condo, it has higher ceilings (than the lower units) which provides a very spacious feeling. brbrThe kitchen has all the amenities including microwave, cookware, coffeemaker, and dishwasher. The dining area is between the kitchen and the living room. For your entertainment there is a 55 -inch LED TV with cable and Blue Ray & DVD player in the living room. There is also a 40 inch LCD TV with Cable in the master bedroom and a 32 LCD TV with wifi in the second bedroom. There is a 3.8 cubic ft. washer and 5.9 cubic ft. dryer in the unit for your convenience. There is a wonderful ocean breeze most of the time due to being on the top floor and direct ocean front, for this reason air conditioning is not available in this unit. All rooms have ceiling fans and there a several standing fans for your use in the unit.brbrThere is a spectacular view of the ocean and shoreline from the lanai (outside balcony). The view includes the southwestern slopes of Haleakala Crater, three islands, and possibly humpback whales swimming along Maui’s western coast between the months of December and May. brbrThe grounds at Menehune Shores are well kept and the complex has elevators and a roof-top access that is complete with barbecues, picnic tables, and lounge chairs providing a wonderful sunset view. Very important, our complex Kihei Kai Nani, is HOTEL ZONED, and not affected by Maui's ongoing Transient accommodations issues. Ours is a one-bedroom condo, on the top (2nd) floor, next to our corner unit #212 of building #3, The unit has a full kitchen and amenities. Our Lanai is a good size with ocean and beach views and there is a nice table and chairs on the lanai where we eat most meals. We have recently fully renovated our condo (down to the studs in every room) which means it is brand new. It is furnished with high-end appliances and furniture etc. Our bathroom is completely tiled with a very spacious shower, and all new towels etc. Kamaole beach II is directly in front of us, about 100 yds from the door. The pool and laundry room are about 100 ft. away at the pool. Restaurants and shops are 1/2 a block away. Our complex, Kihei Kai Nani, was one of the first two Kihei resorts built in the seventies. They could have chosen any of the beaches for miles around, but they chose Kamaole II, what more to say Actually I should comment on our decision to not install a dishwasher, washer and dryer, We have been visiting our first condo in Kihei Kai Nani for about 35 years now, and have never felt the need for such appliances. Two people can surely wash dishes in a large double sink, and a washer and dryer take up a lot of space, and are very expensive to operate with Maui electricity costs. They give off heat, they are noisy, and they can leak and need repairs. When the laundry room is steps away, beside the pool where you often meet other vacationers, it is a no brainer. In our opinion, A/C in Hawaii is generally not necessary,, but we have installed quality units for those, that desire it, I have owned my 1st condo in Kihei Kai Nani for 35 years and have never lost a guest due to not having the appliances aforementioned. Finally, if you are looking for the cheapest deal, in KKN, then ours is not it, but I do believe for a few dollars more, we will give you one of the best units in KKN for your money, We just purchased a new Queen sofa bed and mattress in Jan/25
