The Auberge Resort raises baby turtles in their saltwater ponds on the north end of the hotel and releases them into the wild when they reach sufficient size, with appropriate pomp and ceremony, on Turtle Independence Day every July 4th. At certain times of the day throughout the year, you can see them being fed and listen to an expert about the care and raising of turtles. Also there are the Kalahuipua’a Fish Ponds evidencing the sophistication of the ancient Hawaiian aquaculture.
