Hale O'Honu is a professionally decorated single story, free-standing home (no stairs and not a shared-wall townhouse) that has an atmosphere of sophistication yet iscomfortable and inviting. Perfect for up to 7 guests, it is a true island home away from home…

The house has a modern Polynesian design and a spacious, 1700 sq. ft, open floor plan with beautiful travertine floors throughout and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, outfitted with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.

Two private backyard lanais (which open from large sliding glass doors off the living room and master bedroom) are furnished with stylish lounge chairs and a BBQ, and are surrounded by lush, tropical landscaping, giving a sense of tranquility and calm.

There are two bright and airy master bedroom suites, both with spa-like, ensuite bathrooms and walk-in closets.
One master offers a plush, California King bed while the other offers two TwinXL beds that can be joined to make a King if desired.
The third bedroom has a Queen and also has an ensuite bath.
All of the beds are outfitted with luxurious 600 thread count sheets and beautiful cotton/linen quilts, and all of the baths are stocked with white, fluffy, 100% cotton towels.

The bedrooms are also all equipped with flat screen TVs with the living room boasting a state-of-the art, 75 inch flat screen, Smart TV - just lower the automatic, dropdown blinds and you have a screening room that makes for the perfect movie night.

Guests of Hale O'Honu get full use of KaMilo's spectacular, 2 acre Recreation Center, which is about a 90 second walk from the home.

The Rec Center offers a gorgeous, mosaic tile lap pool, a large lagoon style family pool, a children's wading pool, two Jacuzzi spas, a workout building with exercise machines, free-weights and showers (with separate men's and women's locker rooms).

There is also a large, covered pavilion adjacent to the lagoon pool with a kitchen, BBQ, sink and fridge – a perfect place to have a meal, host a party or enjoy a relaxing cocktail (or two).

Access to a Private Beach Paradise

The private Mauna Lani Beach Club (a gate card that we provide our guests allows entrance) is only a couple minutes drive away and is another perk of renting Hale O'Honu.

It is a picturesque white sand beach - a true oasis - perfect for snorkeling (one of the best snorkel spots on the whole island), swimming, kayaking and stand up paddling (there is a fully stocked rental kiosk at the beach). Or, if you just want to relax, the Beach Club offers cabanas and lounge chairs (free of charge), so just grab your favorite book and you're set.

There is also an excellent restaurant and bar at the Beach Club where you can eat and take in the view of nearby Maui or order your food to go and picnic on the beach. And sunsets here are just breathtaking!

    We loved the cleanliness and updated aspect of this condo. The location was perfect when it came to getting around the island. The living space was comfortable and we loved the kitchen and spaciousness of it. We will definitely come back. The resort amenities were fantastic too!

    The House is nice, there is everything which we needed. The furniture is a little out of date, the carpet in the master bed room needs to be change or wash. Otherwise the house is nice, plenty of spaces.

    The location and privacy of the home are wonderful. The home itself is lovely as well. We appreciated the beach gear in the garage to use, as well as the kitchen being well stocked. However there are quite a few maintenance issues in the house that need attention. The locks on the sliding bathroom doors don’t work properly. The toilet paper holders also don’t keep the paper rolls on them without falling off. There was a piece of cabinet corner molding in the kitchen that fell off randomly one evening and we had to try our best to put it back on. The shower caddy in the master bathroom fell off the wall while trying to get shampoo when shower. The back deck area is a gorgeous place to hang out, but there are tons of tiny ants that bite on the chairs and patio itself. The bathroom towels could use updating as well, they aren’t very white and clean looking. We would stay again but it would be great if the house could have certain things addressed and fixed up, to improve the stay, especially in the price range of this rental.

    The fan on stove does not work. The door on the refrigerator does not open without force. There is mold in the Master bedroom shower. There needs to be a bright decal on the plexiglass on the Master shower as we ran into it as it is difficult to see, especially at night.

    Our family of 4 just returned from a great week at Mauna Lani and amazing stay in Kamilo 406. This 3 bedroom, 3 bath home was beautifully furnished, very well equipped and immaculately clean. We wanted for nothing - kitchen was stocked with everything right down to basic spices - and the garage contained everything we could possibly desire for a fun day at the Mauna Lani Beach Club... including great snorkel gear and bikes. We were fortunate to be granted a late check out and pay a half day rate since no one was checking in behind us for a few days - our flight wasn't departing until 1030pm and we so appreciated being able to enjoy another day in the house/at the beach. The beds were comfy - our 6'1 son really enjoyed the topper that was added to the twin beds in guest room to make it into a king. My only complaint would be the house could use some fresh pillows. Enjoyed the privacy that unit 406 offered - the outdoor seating areas were relaxing and comfortable. The Kamilo community within Mauna Lani is very attractive and offers a lovely pool/workout facility area. We visited the Beach Club daily, the unit comes with a beach club gate access card where you can find easy parking and a lovely restaurant for lunch, tropical drinks during the day. After having to delay our family vacation for 9 months due to Covid we were so grateful to enjoy some R&R together on our favorite Hawaiian Island. MAHALO to the owners, rental managers and the State of Hawaii for making it happen.

    We stayed for 3 weeks at this property. We appreciated that the property managers accommodated a few special requests in advance of our stay. We liked that this unit's owner had added overhead lighting. We appreciated the comfortable master bed, the shower heads and water pressure, the bicycles in good working order. Kitchen was stocked adequately, air conditioning worked well. Backyard is small and quite shaded and other than trips to use the BBQ, we didn't use it much. If you already know the advantages of the Mauna Lani area, this is a nice unit to stay in.
