Pontoons and flat bottom boats are best for our canal. There are two paths out to Kings Bay, one with a small bridge that tends to be deeper and one that has no bridge if you have a tall vessel. Tides high and lows need to be watched. Always go slow and watch for obstacles. We can accept boats up to 24'. Our driveway is double wide and can fit 2 vehicles and boat trailer. brAll guests who bring or rent boats and use our kayaks are solely responsible for the navigation, operation, and safety of their vessels. The property owners are not liable for any accidents, injuries, or damages incurred while using boats. Guests must comply with all local boating laws and regulations. Any damages caused by boats or kayaks to the property or third parties are the sole responsibility of the guest.brbrbr ATTENTION PET OWNERS brIf you would like to bring your furry friends(s) please inquire with host before booking. At low tide it can be a 6' or more drop off. CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES IN THE BACKYARD. brbrPESTS brIf you are visiting from out of state, Florida has pests!! Our property gets sprayed quarterly inside and out and is frequently checked for our pesky pests, but we cannot guarantee you will not encounter something inside the house. It is best to keep doors and windows closed when not in use. brbrCameras brWe use 2 motion activated video cameras on the outside of the house. One is in the back pointing out towards the yard and the other is near the front door pointing out towards the street. Our main reasons for this is to ensure safety of our guests and be aware of any illegal activity. Welcome to the Otter House! Our house is suitable for large families and sleeps 8 people in 6 beds! If that isn't your style the house is still great for couples and smaller groups that like the quiet atmosphere and sounds of nature! We have very few neighbors and are surrounded by undeveloped preserves on two sides. This four bedroom house comes with all house basics to keep you comfortable during your stay plus a few extras we enjoy and hope you do too. We have included a washer, dryer, cable TV, wireless internet and even a grill for your convenience. There are kayaks in the garage for your enjoyment, enough for the whole family (up to 8) to enjoy! brbrThere is a boat house available as well that is suitable for small skiffs and pontoon boats to dock. The tide goes in and out regularly so we recommend shallow hulled boats less than 21 ft. If that doesn't work there is plenty of boat parking in the driveway and a ramp less than 5 minutes away! brbrWe are just outside of town, but a bike path leads right to the heart of Crystal River or ten miles out to the public beach at the end of Fort Island Trail. If you are visiting to see manatees the main springs are a 20 minute kayak from the house, and sometimes they come up the canal to say hello!brbrDuring your stay make sure to keep a lookout the back lanai for wildlife! We named the house after a family of playful otters that live up the stream. Manatees, large fish and even dolphins have been up the canal, and there are always egrets, herons, ospreys and owls!
