We are located beachfront on the Delaware Bay in amazing Prime Hook Beach. We are a little north of Lewes and Rehoboth. The cottage is a comfortably furnished, relaxing, 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home that sleeps 8 people. The home has amazing water views from almost every room. Two bedrooms have a queen sized bed, dresser and closet. The third bedroom is a much larger family sleeping room with a queen bed, 2 twin beds and a very comfortable couch that converts into a queen sized bed. There is a pac-n-play available. The area is perfect for nature enthusiasts with so much nature all around. This is the perfect place to hike, bike, fish, kayak or just enjoy the very quiet, mostly private beach right out your back door. (There are two kayaks at the house - a single and a double as well as two stand up paddleboards). The beach on the Delaware Bay is generally much calmer than the ocean beaches a little south. If you are looking for more intense waves the beaches of Cape Henlopen and Rehoboth are about a 25-30 minute drive. The restaurants/bars of Rehoboth, Lewes, Milton and Milford are close by as are the Rehoboth boardwalk and outlet shops. Golf, charter fishing and water sports available in several close locations. Several restaurants, a library, a theater, grocery store, liquor store and some other closer shops are available in the nearby town of Milton- approximately 8 miles away. Bedding and linens are provided including cotton sheets and bath and beach towels. brbrThe property next to Chez Soleil is a beach pathway access. brbrThe seclusion of Prime Hook makes you feel that you have a little beach community to yourself but it’s only a twenty-five-minute ride south to the hustle and bustle of Lewes and Rehoboth. Not sure what to do Walk the historic streets of Lewes, Delaware’s first settlement. Take a tour of Dogfish head brewery. Ride the waves at Cape Henlopen or tour the Fort Miles WWII Museum. It reminds us of Nags Head, only much closer or Ocean City, MD how it was 60 years ago.brbrWe have two bedrooms on the first floor. One with a king size bed, the other with a full. They share a bathroom with a tub and shower. There is bedroom with 1 double and a bathroom with a shower on the second floor. This secluded and tranquil cottage on a 20 acre hobby farm is the perfect getaway. With walking trails from the back door to Abbott's Mill Nature Center on the adjacent property, it is perfect for birders, nature lovers, or just for a nice walk. br We are an easy 15 minute drive from the DE Turf Sports Complex on Rt. 1 north of Milford and 35 minutes from Sports at the Beach near Georgetown. br The cottage is small but feels spacious with a vaulted living room ceiling and open floor plan. There is lots of natural light with large windows throughout and french doors onto the beautiful screened porch. There is a gas grill just out the back door. The porch makes for wonderful indoor/outdoor living; deer can often be spotted in the wooded side yard or in the meadow out back. Wild turkeys show up occasionally as well. br The cottage is shaded and air conditioned for wonderful summer days and evenings and the radiant floor heat makes it cozy and warm in the winter. br Take a walk to the creek at the rear of the property or stroll through the woods to Abbott's Mill Nature Center. Abbott's is a 313-acre Nature Preserve and features trails open to the public, a preserved gristmill, a pond, meadows, an animal collection, and educational programs. They also host Music at the Mill on select summer weekends.br The Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay beaches are nearby. Lewes (30 minutes), Rehoboth Beach (30 minutes), and Ocean City, Maryland (45 minutes) are popular beach destinations. Other nearby attractions are Cape Henlopen State Park, Killens Pond State Park, and the Cape May/Lewes Ferry.
