Summary:brLocated in the heart of Mousehole Janies Cottage (former home of Janie Pender) is a Cornish bolt hole perfect for couples and small families. Tucked away on a peaceful little row of granite cottages, you are a pebble's throw from all that Mousehole has to offer, including great restaurants such as “2 Fore Street” and the harbour itself with lovely sandy beaches and quaint little shops. Janies cottage feels like a home away from home and is very atmospheric and peaceful.brbrThe Space:brThis beautifully renovated traditional cottage is set over 2 floors, with 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. The primary bedroom has a king-size bed, bedroom two has two singles and the 3rd also a single bed.brbrThe cottage is fully equipped for dining in around the big wooden table in the kitchen diner but is also well located for eating out every day as you’re really spoiled for choice in Mousehole.brbrParking is close by and you can park at the Habourside carpark for £5 for 24 hours. brbrThere is no Garden at Janies sadly but her front steps make a great spot to sit and have a coffee first thing as the sun peeps though the rooftops. At the end of the day make sure you cosy up in front of the log burner with a good book or enjoy a film on the smart TV. Janie’s caters for younger children as well, a high chair and travel cot are included as well as a range of books and toys.brIf you want to travel further afield by car St Ives is 10 miles away where you will find all sorts of activities and places to eat. For the ultimate experience head to the Minack Open Air Theatre at Porthcurnow and take in one of the fantastic shows.brbrGuest Access:brThe whole cottage will be solely for you, and your family during your stay.brbrThe Neighborhood:brWe recommend The Coastguard Hotel if you really want to splash out, make sure you try their signature cocktails!brAs well as just taking it easy during your stay if you’re more the outgoing types there are a great selection of walks on the South West Coast Path. Head East toward Newlyn or if you’re really adventurous head West to Lands End or even as far as Sennen Cove.brbrProvisionsbrThere is a great deli and general store that’s just 1 minute walk from Janie’s Cottage – No.1 Deli Storesbr(run by 2 Fore Street restaurant).brThey have local milk in reusable bottles, great coffee, bread, pastries,breggs, vegetables, a range of meat, wine and essentials including logs and kindling. The pub kitchen shuts at 8.30pm.brbr2 Fore Street has an excellent menu and lovely garden which was renovated in 2021. Worth booking in advance if you want to guarantee a table.brbrThe Old Coastguard has a bar and dining rooms which serve delicious food and overlook recently renovated lawned gardens lined with palm trees and looking out to St Clements Isle. The Sea Terrace is lovely and during 2021, they’ve been working on a food and drink shack in the garden. NOTE: very popular so advance booking highly recommended.brbrHole Foods Deli and Cafe has great coffee, wines and a fresh food counter as well as meals served at the table. They now have more space and tables upstairs and open 8am for breakfast until late most days.brbrThe Rock Pool is a café not far from the harbour, has wonderful views and is great for lunch, creambrteas and cakes. Boatbrtrips are also available from the harbour brAlong with Tyler Gallery beneath the cottage, you’ll also find other art galleries, café’s and gift shopsbrin the winding lanes of Mousehole.brFrom Mousehole you can walk up Raginnis Hill for great views of Mount’s Bay and join the coast pathbrto Lamorna, or in the other direction the coastal cycle path takes you to Newlyn and Penzance.brPorthcurno beach is less than 3 miles from Mousehole and is a large, soft, sandy beach. Praa Sandsbris 7 miles from Mousehole and is also beautiful with a long bank of sand dunes. St Ives is 14 milesbraway and is definitely worth a day trip.brIt has three great beaches, especially for families, and Tate St Ives which was extended a few yearsbrago. Mousehole Cottage is a beautiful property, with fantastic, panoramic sea views and private parking. Completed in 2008 the property is located just off the main Parade and only 60 metres from the harbour. Well appointed and beautifully furnished this cottage offers a high standard of accommodation for 6 people in this sought after location. The cottage is surrounded by a compact, private and well-maintained garden with large garden table and chairs with sea views.brMousehole, described by Dylan Thomas as “the loveliest village in England” is a traditional, picture postcard Cornish harbour with small sandy beach ideal for little ones at the far end. Mousehole is made up of winding streets, alleyways, old net lofts, art galleries, gift shops and several very good pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are many sandy beaches nearby, Porthcurno and Sennen to name but a few. The larger historic town of Penzance is 3 miles away with a wider range of shops, supermarkets, leisure centre, outdoor lido, pubs and critically acclaimed restaurants. The Scillonian ferry runs from Penzance to the stunning Scilly Isles.brAccommodationbrGround Floor: Entrance door into a hall with large cupboard and hooks for coats. Through to a well furnished sitting room and dining area with beautiful sea views from the double aspect windows, two large comfortable sofas, wood burner, digital flatscreen TV with freeview channels and DVD player. At the back of the living room is the dining area with table and chairs for 6 people. At the rear of the cottage is the well appointed kitchen with built-in double oven with halogen hob and extractor hood, large fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, plenty of shaker style cupboards and granite worktops. There is a small WC and basin off the kitchen.brFirst Floor - The master bedroom with double white wrought iron bed has some of the best views in the cottage, dual aspect across the bay to St Michael's Mount and St Clements Isle, with built in cupboard, chest of drawers and bedside units. The twin bedroom, also dual aspect has two single beds and built in cupboard with shelves and hanging space. The third bedroom is a bunk room with 3ft white bunk beds and small chest of drawers.
